he looked at her and thought for a second then smiled and replied.
"I think so, but I don't like going down there during the day...too many people, but it's always crowded."
He said looking at the guitar and looking at her.
"Anything you want to do? I know the town pretty well now"
He said smiling.

Lord Shinigami Shin laid his hand atop her gently before giving it a little, reassuring squeeze.
"Don't fret m'lady. They might not like elves, but gold is gold to them... People are just that shallow 'round these parts."
He said this just loud enough for the shopkeeper to overhear, before striding boldly up to the counter and laying down their purchases. Without a word, the shopkeeper rang them up and then gruffly spoke.
"3 gold pieces."
Shin set the gold down, as the crotchity old man bagged the sweets. Shin picks up the bag before offering Madison his arm and walking out of the store with a jovial,
"Have a good day"
Tossed over his shoulder in their departure. The door jingled lightly as they left the store and headed to the streets. Madison, smiled up at Shin but there was something that had been bothering her on their little journey. "Shin...I'm curious...Why do the people here hate you so much? What did you do?" Her question was very similiar to a young child's, infact it sounded like it came from one. As they coutinuned to walk, a few more people stared, and a few more glared. But they countinued on their way as though they were not there.

Shin's lowered his eyes, allowing the bangs of obsidian to obscure the view of his face as they fell across his cheek. He would not show one so tender as she, such a darkened expression.
His lips twinged as he smiled sardonically and replied hollowly.
"I was born... nothing more, nothing less. For nothing more than the fact I was born of elven blood I have been dispised most of my life. Humans dislike us because they percieve us as a threat... The fact that so many of our kind are OUTWARDLY flawless makes them insecure... But elves are no better. Amongst my own kind, I wasn't noble enough to be admitted to their fine courts... My mother wouldn't aknowledge me because I had my father's darkened hair... I wasn't---"
He paused and then shrugged smiling down at her.
"I wasn't fair enough... Not beautiful by their standards..."

"BLASPHEMY!" The rabbit's voice squeaked alittle as her arms let out a little flail. A few people looked over at them as she seemed to make her little scene, they however merely countinued on their way as though nothing occured.
Madison soon sharply looked up at him and had her eyes quite narrowed down. Her paws were soon placed on her hips as she bent her knee slightly to pose herself as a scolding mother.
"I don't care what those people say, you are beautiful! And charming! And a gentleman! And....oops...." She seemed to go on in her angry emotion to soon realized what had slipped out of her mouth. A dark shade of red seemed to take over, as her ears soon once more fell over her eyes to hide herself from him.

He couldn't help but laugh as Madison grew outraged and scolded him. He gazed at her fondly and as she flushed and tried to hide from him, he bent over gracefully. Gently lifting the soft white ears from her face he smiles brightly at her and tweaks her nose.
"Thank you m'lady, your words do me great honour."
He leans forward slightly and presses a loving kiss to her forehead before straightening and grinning.
"It's not just the elves though... Anything 'different' is made the object of people's dislikes a fears. Just remember, while they may tell you that you are a monster in a world of humans... really, you are human in a world of monsters..."

Madison smiled lightly at the Elf, what she had told him a few minutes ago seemed to follow him without a doubt.
"I wish that I could have as much courage as you do, Lord Shin. I can barely protect myself from simple stares, I know...it's pathetic." Madison laughed a little as she finished her small statement as though she pretended it was nothing serious. But she did speak some words of truth, she did admire him for his courage to face such a dark world.
A world were the two of them didn't seem to belong in.

Shin had started to walk again, but her words halted him and he turned around, simply staring at her his eyes full of consideration and unspoken feelings. Without warning he pulls her into a hug, wrapping her up in his arms and resting his cheek atop her head as he holds her close. Speaking only for his ears he speaks sincerely
"Lady Madison... I... I will be your shield. I will protect you with every breath I draw, I will remain by your side until you can stand on your own... and even then, I will be there to lift you up when you fall--"

Madison blinked a moment as Shin was practically draped around her body, being held close to his body. She wasn't entirelly sure if the man was going to cry or what not. But as she was in his grasp, she felt safe and secure rather than the fear that she had known for ever so many years.
A smile formed on her face as she finally returned the embrace. As the feeling of warmth swept over both of them.

Still holding her close, but drawing back far enough that he could tilt her chin up to look at him with one hand he smiles.
"Please give me your trust... and with that all your worries and fears. I will protect you so all you need to do... is smile, m'lady."

A small tear trickled down the rabbit's cheek but she remained silent, not allowing the elf to see that. It was a beautiful thing that he had said, but she wasn't so sure if he should care for her that much.
"Shin...that's a really big commitment...and besides...I'm not a lady" Madison made two valid points at the point and smiled softly, but she did not break the hug.
"And I thank you..." Her embrace was stronger now, and a small sniff was heard from her lips. She was attempting not to cry.

"M'lady... err... Madison... You are both beautiful and kind, two traits of being a lady. Nobility means nothing in my eyes... The house you are born into, does not dictate the sort of person you are... You're a lady to me... and I will protect you."
The elf had only ever sworn his life to one other, and while the girl from his childhood would remain in his heart and thoughts forever, Shin was beginning to understand that she would never feel for him as he did for her. Normally such thoughts would depress him, but held in his arms now... were new feelings, a young but tender love... and the woman who's tear kissed eyes gazed up at him, made his cheeks flush and his heart skip a beat.

"Shin you are too sweet...Oh dear...Looks like I'm leaking alittle" and lightly she pulled away to wipe her tears with her gloves. She turned her head slightly to look at him to see that his face was flushed a little, which made him have a slight bit of colour.
Madison didn't quite understand what he was thinking, or what was running through her. She had only felt this feeling once, and that was with the dreaded pirate Jonathon. But this was better, this was more.

Shin smiled boyishly at her, resisting the urge to reach out and wipe those tears away himself. He'd just opened himself up, perhaps too much... he didn't want to push her too much now... Madison was special... Her awareness was as good as anyones, however the way she percieved things and people aroudn her seemed to be tinted by the naievity of a child. He'd have to be so tender with her... So patient. Rubbing the back of his head slightly embarassed at having shown so much emotion in front of her he grins.
"What'd'ya' say we start heading back soon? It'll be dusk by the time we reach the Guild."

"That sounds like a rather fabulous idea." Smiled the girl as she finally managed to be rid of the last tear. She laughed slightly as she held onto his hand, beginning to head back to the guild with cheerful smiles on their face.
