Solaris
As Epitaph was new to the Kingdom and clearly did not know where to go, Solaris had taken the lead upon exiting the palace and butted the door to the Cafe open with his head before sitting down in front of it to hold it in place so the Flareon could enter.
His lavender gaze scanned the many chocolate-colored chairs and tables before turning back to his companion.
"Where would you like to sit?"

 EpitaphEpitaph followed him in, nodding a thank you as he held the door. "Anywhere is fine."She replied as she examined the cafe carefully. Though the reaction was far more seen with Sai, it was clear where she got it from. She looked back at Solaris before walking off to a table located next to a window. "This will do, I prefer a view anyway."Epitaph added as she hopped into the chair, looking out the window for a few seconds before turning her head back to Solaris.

Solaris
Solaris turned to follow, stepping away from the door and it in turn closed on his tail.
He bit back the cat-like yowl of pain and as calmly as possible smiled and tugged it loose before leaping up onto the chair across from Epitaph.
His tail twitched in agony and sent throbbing pain and screams of 'look what you did idiot!' up his back and into the back of his head.
He ignored it, instead opting to smile politely as the cocoa-colored Miltank approached the table.
"Hot Chocolate for me." He almost asked for mini-marshmellows in it as he usually did but stopped himself.
Mini-marshmellows were not mature.

((Lmao He's trying so hard~ heart )) EpitaphEpitaph watched him carefully, wincing slightly as the door closed on his tail. His attempt to play it off was rather cute though. Avoiding the 'are you okay?' question might make him feel rather successful, so she did. She turned her eyes to the waiter with the slightest turn in her head. "I'll just have the same."Upon turning her head back to meet Solaris, she smiled. "T'was quite the exciting day. I'm told such events are rather common. What's life like for you here?"Maybe not the best question for Solaris, but conversation was a start.

The Espeon had raised his tail and was very descretely trying to smooth out the kink in it when she spoke.
He lifted his gaze to meet hers momentarily before averting his eyes to the window.
"It's always utter madness around here. There's always some evil force trying to kill us all or some error that needs to be righted. All the same..."
He glanced back, a spark of mischief in his expression. "...I wouldnt trade it for the world. I mean...it wouldnt be very fullfilling unless you get to save the world a few times~"

EpitaphEpitaph nodded slightly as she listened. She didn't entirely expect the response. "I see." Unwelcoming, sure, but it sounded rather exciting too. She straightened her posture and wrapped her tail around her legs. "What about youself? I don't believe I've had a chance to ask."Between Solaris' derping and Orion flipping a s**t, no, no she didn't. "You seem to have a rather interesting view on things. I'd like to hear a bit about you."

Solaris
Solaris cocked his head to the side. He rarely ever talked about himself, and mostly no one wanted to hear what he had to say half the time so it was very rare that anyone would be willing to sit through him jabbering away like a fool.
To say he was shocked was an understatement, but he quickly caught himself and smiled, preparing to launch into a short discussion of how insane his family was when the Miltank returned and set both steaming hot mugs of cocoa on the table.
The Espeon found himself torn from speaking and taking a drink first and settled on the latter.
A Psychic pulled the mug into his paws and he tipped it back to drink some before answering Epitaph.
Of course, he didnt realize he'd just given himself a chocolate mustache in the process.
"There's not much to tell. I had a twin sister named Selena and as kids we fought for the throne but father was old fashioned, he believed in male only heirs and that didnt suit well for her.
Selena was never the type to second guess herself, her recklessness made me look cautious and she attempted to attack him in an effort to scare him into accepting her as the heir instead. We'd evolved by that time and she neglected to take into account that she was an Umbreon, not an Eevee and thus had longer claws.
She killed our father and fled and I took the throne." He shrugged, not willing to go any further into it. Mostly on his and his sister's war and the realization that Selena should have been the leader. Not him.

EpitaphEpitaph looked down into her drink as he spoke. Her ears up and alert. That happened? She was honestly a bit surprised. "I'm sorry to hear." Upon looking back up, she blinked and threw a napkin over his head. "Wipe your mouth." Epitaph made a slight laugh before softly sighing and gazing off in thought. "Well. There isn't much to say about me either. I'm the mother of a fallen kingdom and a daughter."She shrugged her shoulders upon looking back at Solaris. "No regrets."She added, smiling again before sipping her drink.

The Espeon blinked as his sight was suddenly obscurred by the napkin and he raised both paws to drag it down over his face and blink in confusion at the chocolate that had been wiped from his mouth.
...how...how long had that been there? ARGH.
Shaking his head he reached for the mug again and lifted it into the air, careful so as not to give himself a chocolate bath.
"No regrets." He repeated, and this time began to sip at it more slowly.
How awful it must feel to lose a whole Kingdom. He tried to imagine the Kingdom of Eclipse falling and couldnt bring himself to do it.
It was too horrible a thought.
If they didnt do something about the balance, it might become a reality though.

EpitaphEpitaph nodded as she put her drink down. "Regrets are nothing of use, they only get in the way and bring existence to something that doesn't need to be there.
Given I had regrets on the matter of our own Kingdom, Sai and I most likely wouldn't have made it. Darius can handle himself fine."She looked back at her drink before taking a spoon and played with her reflection. "It's always good to consider what you're doing and how it could affect you, but if something happens out of your control, or you do something that needs to be done for the sake of something greater, shouldn't you do it?" Epitaph made a weak laugh. "It might be a bit too self centered. Unexpected occurrences do happen after all and they might be for the better."

Solaris couldnt help but give a faint smile as he set the glass down.
"My father...he once said to me 'Solaris, you dont need to be the strongest or the smartest or the fastest or the bravest. All that matters is that you're flexible and can adapt.' It's only recently that I've begun to understand what he meant. You must be able to react at a moment's notice to keep from falling apart."
The Espeon opened his mouth in a yawn, pink tongue lolling out.
"You...survived for a purpose. We all have a purpose we are living for. The meaning of life is trying to find it."
No, Solaris wasnt that deep. It was something he'd heard Orion say when he was younger. When the older Espeon was thinking clearly he would give advice at an alarming rate.

EpitaphEpitaph was rather relieved to see him smile. She wasn't sure of the direction of her mindless ramble. "Your father sounded like a good man." She replied, placing the spoon down. "I have little memories of my parents, but I can't say I prefer to remember. Arranged marriages could have been the death of me." She sighed. Sadly, her words were true. "Well Solaris, as I've said. Don't take too much abuse to heart, your mind is on the right track when need be. You'll learn as you age."

The Espeon nodded slightly. Jupiter had been a good man, maybe not the best father ever to exist, but he was a good leader at least.
Noticing his drink empty and Epitaph no longer bothering with hers, he gave a small smile.
"I should be getting back to the guild...allow me to teleport you back to your room if that is okay..."

Arriving at their destination, Jack returned the favor from his company earlier and held the door open for the Banette. Granted there was some light conversation on their way to the cafe, which was decided open once Nik's sweet-tooth was well noted, but it neared the verge on awkward on multiple occasions; Jack having honestly no problem with the ghost other than his timidity that could use just the slightest bit of work.
"Ehh, I thought there were a few more places around that weren't so kid oriented, sorry."
He apologized for the atmosphere just in case his friend wasn't pleased with the surroundings. Little did he know that his guildmaster was here quite recently making his statement all the more redundant.
