Where flowers bloom..
[Lavenderrain's eyes glittered with worry.
She was reflecting on the events that she had just witnessed.]
[She padded up to Ravenstar.]
"Ravenstar... will my kits be born into a clan full of .. madness?"
[She shivered at the words, and gazed at her round belly.]
"I..I don't want my kits to feel the pain.." she started but her voice died out.
[She turned her head towards the direction of Leopardpaw, and that poor little scrap.]
[Shaking her head, a hard determined look appeared in her eyes.]
"I shall take in that kit as if it were my own. I must help as much as I can.. in my current state." she mewed.
[And with a brisk nod to Ravenstar, she padded hurriedly to catch up with Leopardpaw and the kit.]
..so does hope.

Where flowers bloom..
"I'll take it from here Leopardpaw." she said kindly but firmly.
[Leopardpaw's and Lavenderrain's eyes met, and an understanding went through them.]
"I'll come visit you, don't you worry. You're safe with Lavenderrain." Leopardpaw mewed.
[Lavenderrain blinked warmly at the apprentice as she left.
The little kit wimpered as she looked at Lavenderrain.]
"You know, I lost someone important to me too.." Lavenderrain began, hoping to get a word out of the kit.
[She still wimpered a little but she tilted her head in curiosity.]
"But we all have to be strong don't we?" she mewed soothingly.
[The kit nodded, seeming to be a little bit comforted.]
"Let me tell you of a time when my mate did the funniest thing.." she began as her voice faded behind the nursery wall.
..so does hope.

[Fathom's head whirled. Everything had happened so quickly! First Ravenstar killed a cat, then he became Leapordpaw's mentor...
He soothed his ruffled fur with his tounge. He was at least happy that it was Leapordkit who he was able to mentor.]

Nightstreak staggered along the dusty path, his pelt sticky with mud. Foam dripped from his mouth, red splashes of blood mixing in the spittle.
He moaned and staggered along the undergrowth, circling the camp absently, waiting for prey to show itself.

[The nameless white kit heard a moan. She peered through the branches of the wall and gasped. She jumped up and ran out of the nursery. She stalked up to the cat and bared her teeth. He looks like Mommy! she thought angrily. She jumped toward him and bit the cat's front left paw.]

[Nightstreak's pupils dialated. With a snarl, he grabbed the kit by her scruff and tossed her accross the clearing. She hit a large boulder with a sickening cracking sound.]

[She fell to the ground and looked at Nightstreak with a look of pure hatred. She felt like she was about to die, but words rang in her head: First comes pain, then comes anger. It will eat away at your conscience and you will wander astray. Thus you will kill everything you see and spread the Madness on its way. She started to feel power sucked into her paws. She stood up, and walked over to the cat again and jumped on his back.]

[Nightstreak screamed an unearthly yowl. He slammed the kit against anything hard he could find violently. He leapt into the air, spinning wildly, and landed on his back, slamming her into the ground repeatedly.]

[The events that happened next all came in a flash.
The kit ran out and attacked Nightstreak!]
"NO!" she yelled but the kit and Nightstreak had already started a fight.
[The kit looked near to death..]
"No kit should ever die like this! One of clanmates has already joined you, please don't take another!"Lavenderrain begged Starclan.
She watched in a horror until something had jumped on Nightstreak!
[Stars glittered around his fur as he bowled Nightstreak over. Those ears...]
"Hawkears!" she yelped in surprise.
[He flicked he ears in acknowledgement but kept on pummeling Nightstreak.]
[When Hawkears was sure that Nightstreak was too tired to harm the kit any further, he dissolved into starlight.]
[She ran over to the kit as soon as she was sure Hawkears had gone.]
[Lavenderrain picked her up by the scruff and ran into Leafpetal's den.]
[Leafpetal got to work as soon as Lavenderrain has put the kit down.]
[She couldn't believe that the events had began and ended so quickly.
The peace was restored, but the clearing crackled with tension.]
[Lavenderrain's heart filled with dread as she realized Nightstreak was nowhere to be seen..]
..so does hope.

"NO!!!" [the kit yowled.] "He'll kill you all!" [she raced out of the den and followed the scent trail out of camp. She caught up with Nightstreak soon, and snarled. She let her claws slide out. Her blue eyes turned to red, and she prepared to pounce.]

[Suddenly the kit dashed out of the medicine cat's den.]
"Hey! Hey, wait!" Lavenderrain yowled helplessly.
[But the kit kept on going, yelling words Lavenderrain couldn't make out, as she left.]
[Just as she was about to speed out of the clearing after the kit, her stomach convulsed and Lavenderrain groaned in pain.]
Oh please Starclan! Not now of all times!
[Collapsing, Lavenderrain could hardly stay conscious..
But a cat loomed over her and pulled into the medicine cat den.]
[Starlight filled her vision as Hawkears, her dead mate, came into view.]
"Our kits are about to be born." he smiled worriedly.
"Save her.. Please! You must save that kit!" she managed splutter out.
[Hawkears nodded mutely and didn't ask any questions.
Looking at her condition and knowing she was safe with Leafpetal, he disappeared.]
[Lavenderrain held on to that image of him in her mind, as the birthing of her kits began.]
..so does hope.

 [Leopardkit padded quickly over to Fathom.] "May I go out into the for-" [Her question was cut off by an ear piercing scream. Leopardpaw's head snapped.] "I have to go now!" [Fathom nodded and Leopardpaw dashed out of the camp. She saw th kit attacking Nightstreak and Lavenderrain giving birth... She didn't know what to do. She yowled for Leafpetal. The medicine cat came running. Knowing the queen was fine, she leapt into the fight iwht Nightstreak. She couldn't kill him, she just yanked him off of the kit. She heard rustling behind her, and she thougt her eyes were decienvig her. She thought she saw...a starlit warrior battling beside her! She was staring when something caught her on the back of the head and she sunk into blackness.]
