Folding her ears down, a paw came up to run her arm in a bit of a nervous manner. Jerome was right, true, but she supposed the romantic in her cherished the idea in a home, in a family and otherwise the illusion of blissful peace that accompanied it. "No...." She shook her head, turning her gaze to meet his own. "You shouldn't say you feel something when you don't. I've never known my home, so I'm still looking on where that might be. Yet this will be as close as I get in my lifetime. Do you remember your home?" Koyuki asked, unsure since he'd said he was taken at a young age from his.
Looking down at the same sight as the Spartan brought back different memories for her. Memories of longing to be playing, of insecurites she'd hidden behind the mask of manners and protocol. Of the difficulty to be different, and to not speak the same language as everyone else made communication that much harder. Her eyes travelled to the side though where parents and families watched over their youth, and a smile returned when she thought of her Okaasan and Oniisan. The feeling of love and trust as real as any blood ties she could have had with her real family.

Jerome sighed. Deep down he knew that she was right, but he still didn't feel he would have a home. The best thing he had now was the large metal structure that he had lived in for the past few weeks. It wasn't the best home, but it did provide the shelter that was necessary. "I don't know if I'm ready for a new....home. But..if you insist that, then I will have to learn to like this place." he said as he twitched his nose.
He thought about it and recalled his sudden memory of his childhood. He didn't remember much more than a grassy knoll with a small pear tree resting on top. He knew it overlooked on of the bustling technological town below. It was a quiet place and very peaceful He remembered defending that tree with his life...then it struck him, He never had a home or parents. That tree was the best thing he had.
The look of shocked realization was plastered all over his scarred face. He slowly looked over at his pod now understanding why he didn't want to leave it. Like the tree he had when a child, it was all he had

Raising her head to look back to Jerome, she was a bit surprised at what he said and vigorously shook her head. Reaching out she took his paw in hers, feeling something amiss in the usually pleasant spartan. "Jerome...I don't insist anything...there is no law to say you may only have one home." She said quite sternly, following his gaze back to the pod even thought she did not know what was going on in his mind. Nor did she think she'd ask...if he wanted to share; he would.
"Home may just be a place, a shelter...but home can not always be physical. Home can be where your heart lies...which means I have more than one home. My Okaasan, my Oniisan have a piece of my heart....and well...it looks like i'm losing another, larger part." A kind smile spread over her lips as she gave his paw a squeeze, feeling no need to explain herself since he was a smart guy. "I would never ask you to leave, Jerome, ever. So please do not worry about needing to find a new one, for I don't see anything wrong with the one you have now."

Jerome looked back over at Koyuki when she gave his paw a squeeze. For a moment, he didn't understand abut what she was referring to..but then it all made sense. "You think I would give up what little I have? No. Never!" He said as he shook his head. He looked back at the pod as if it was haunted. "I just remembered something....something that...I guess was forgotten for many many years." he said with a bit of a scowl.
"Ah..but...enough talk." The spartan said uneasily deciding what he might have remembered could be mistaken for a bad dream. "Let's do something. The day has started and it's not worth sitting around and chatting it away" He beamed as he looked back at the small vixen

"I..." Koyuki started, but then stopped herself, she hadn't meant to make him upset since she knew some things...like his armor was important to him. She's walk here every day for the rest of her life if it was where he would stay, and she'd do so with the biggest smile on her face. Yet she said nothing, nodding her head a little shyly as she didn't want to start anything.
"Do something...?" Her ears perked up as she once more looked up to meet his gaze and that increasingly irresistable smile. "What do you have in mind? It looks like it will be a beautiful one..." Her own smile faded onto her lips as she released his hand for the time being to stretch out her own back from sleeping in a poor position, hearing a few pops of her spine.

Jerome surveyed the land for a moment. There was really a lot they could do, but he didn't know where to start. "I..have no idea." he said as he slightly shook his head. Why he made that gesture he wasn't sure

"Well...." Koyuki thought, her own eyes returning to the view. "Whichever we decide to do, i'd like to stop by the house again. As much as I enjoy going natural...im afraid my fur is not thick enough to keep out the cold." She smiled sheepishly with a blush rising on her cheeks. "I guess im more used to my kimono's."
"Further more, I've ended up dragging you around since we've met, so how about you take this time to decide something?" She mused, rubbing her arms as she glanced back to him. "Do you want me to run there alone or would you like to some with me?"

Jerome pondered the vixen's question. As he did he looked over at his pod trying to decide if he wanted to take his armor and guns. He eventually decided against it and looked back down at Koyuki. "I might as well. It's not like I would be able to do anything else" he smiled a sheepish grin as he stood and waited for her to lead

Even the vixen took a double take at him and the pod, was he really going without his armor? None the less she was glad, since it meant his helmet wouldn't be on...she enjoyed watching his expressions.
Turning around she walked a few steps and stopped. Looking this way and that, she seemed a little confused. She's never actually gone to his pod before last night...and even that was by luck in the blizzard and his tracks not having been covered. Which way was home? Biting her lip, she picked the most likely direction and began to walk again. "This way!"
How hard could it be to find her place, it wasn't like there were houses littered all over the forest.

Jerome started to trot after her, but quickly realized something. He made a mad dash for his belt that held a small hand gun, a few extra clips of ammo, a closed square holster and and another one that was smaller. He quickly put it on and ran back after Koyuki.
when he caught up he matched her speed and tried to stay even with her. "Sorry. Had to get my belt." He said as he opened the closed holster and pulling out a pack of cigarettes.

"Hmm?" Koyuki barely had enough time to look back to see him vanish back to the pod. She kept walking though since she was well aware of his speed capabilities when before she knew it he was back at her side. She wondered momentarily if he really needed the gun, but remembering she was being 'preyed' on made her feel greatful that there some protection at least.
The slope was a bit steep as she took her time going down, not wanting to fall as she eyed the pack of something he took from the belt. "What are those?" She asked, pointing to the box, remembering the one that dropped from his mouth when he'd seen her erlier.

Jerome had some trouble trying to walk down the hill and light the cancer stick which was now in his mouth, but he managed. When he finally got the small flame from his lighter to attack his cigarette, he inhaled a little and got a small fire. He put the lighter back in the smaller holster and puffed out a cloud of smoke.
"This is a Cigarette. A nasty little habit that I pray you never pick up on." He said as he held the stick with his lips. He had been smoking for the longest time that he was a master with using it effectively.

"Ci....garetto?" Koyuki tried to pronounce, making it clear that old habits died hard with her language. Immediately she became curious as she watched him try and light it, and then keep it in his mouth. It seemed like a lot of hassle for a little stick.
"Well...then why do you have the habit if it is...nasty?" Koyuki tried to keep her pace, as her arms and shoulders were chilled. Occasionally looking around a little nervously, before switching paths and walking in a new direction. "You don't seem to dislike it..."

"Well it's a nasty habit because inside of this Cigarette is something called Nicotine...which is a very addictive drug, but it makes you feel good. It's nasty because these things can tear up your lungs." he inhaled, then let a stream of smoke out of his nose. He had no trouble of taking turns, he just instinctively let his feet walk and occasionally he'd make them turn.
"Like I said. I don't ever want to see you get into smoking. It's pretty bad for you" he said as he stared straight ahead, continueing his pattern of inhaling the drug and then puffing out smoke

Listening intently, she understood that it probably was a very bad thing, since even inhaling smoke from a fire was bad for you. None the less this had no help curbing her curiousness, about why Jerome still would do it even if it was bad for him. Pouting her lip, she watched him, all the while noticing a few little downfalls to his 'master' skill.
Deciding she wanted to see what all the fuss (or last thereof) was about, in the blink of an eye she'd snatched the cigarette from his mouth since she noticed he wasn't really biting down on it; just keeping it in with his lips. Cheekily grinning she inhaled deeply once it was in her mouth as she'd watched him do before, untill her fur seemed to stand on end as she let out a steady stream of hacking coughs and wheezes. Barely able to catch the smoke before it fell into the snow her eyes watered at the bitter and otherwise disgusting taste it left in her throat and mouth.
"H...h-here...." She handed it back sheepishly while still sputtering, she decided to next time trust him that she wasn't missing anything he said she wasn't.
