Lord Tai
Roleplay Name: Tai
Branch: Army
Location: Bus
Objective: Arrival

As the bus roared down the road toward its destination, carrying its burden of passengers along with it, one particular individual became increasingly bored. Tai, a recruit among the many that were packed into the vehicle, removed his decorative officer's cap, which he recieved during his last venture into military service, and began scrubbing at the metal insignia that it bore with his sleeve. Satisfied that the emblem was as shiny as it was going to get, he replaced it on his head, pausing to see if it was straight or not before checking other areas of his person.
He noted a loose screw in his mechanical arm, which seemed to have been shaken from its place by the vibration of the bus. Taking a quick glance over the rest of the arm, he found only two other screws that had started to come out of place. Mentally noting their positions, he withdrew a small flat-head screw-driver from within the shirt pocket that lie beneath an array of medals and began tightening them again.
As the bus began to slow, he slipped the screw-driver back into his pocket and patiently waited for the order to move.

(I hope this is okay. Please let me know if there is anything that needs to be fixed.)

((Okay Ed Elric, I get the picture, you sold your brothers soul and lost you arm and leg. Good Grammar, Good Spelling, over-all decent sentence structure, you kept yourself busy.

So long as you don't plan adding weird stuff like your arm that into your actual roleplays... Congratulations, you passed! blaugh

((Actually I was just basing it off of my current avatar, which has the automaton arm. Notice how I didn't say auto-mail? I figured if Gaia had it then it was reasonable. Sorry if I made assumptions, that's one of my pet peaves.))

Marcus (aka: ghost)
Marines 141
Bus
Arrival

Marcus, was sitting in the middle of the bus on the right hand side next to he window, his assult rifle in his lap, staring out the window, he was constantly being jolted around as the bus moved over every bump, and moved around every turn, marcus didn't mind, he paid no attention to the bus but only to the drill instructer barking out orders and serching for fresh meat to pray on. occasionally marcus would reach into his vest pocket and pull out a locket and thumb around it, it was heart shaped and it open on one side, inside there was a picture of his girlfriend, who died just shortly before Marcus signed up for the military, he still remembers his girls last words to him "join the military, make me proud" was her final words to him, and this only make marcus even more devoted to the military, he wanted to prove not only to his girl but to everyone on the bus that he was capable of doing the impossible

Lance sighed as he looked out the window and turned back to survey the interior of the buss again, but found it unable to satisfy his curiosity as to which base the bus was heading to so he began to fiddle with his duffel bag which was almost empty save a few personal items for his foot locker and some civi cloths.

Joshua-Allan Hiler, a.k.a. "Ozone"
Air Force
Bus
Arrival

As Josh leaned in the back of his seat the heat from the sun could be felt against his skin, its warmth overflowing through the window that lie adjacent to him. Slowly he allowed himself to fall into a small daze, if only for a moment, to relive those few weeks prior to the departure of his flight. The image of loved ones flooded the very recesses of his mind, exchanging tearful goodbyes and good lucks, this wasn't what he had wanted. He never wanted an extravagant farewell, but it couldn't be helped, this was the biggest decision of his life afterall. His father's words resonated within him, "I don't know why you chose to enlist, you scored a ninety-seven out of ninety-nine on your ASVAB, you're more than capable officer material...but none the less, I'm proud of you. Good luck, and come home safely." Those words, those bittersweet words, could his father have been right? Would he have made a better officer than airman? Still, it didn't matter, Josh made his decision and now he would have to live with it.

It wasn't until the sound of screeching tires coming to a halt echoing through the silence had Josh snapped out of his day-dream. As he glanced out the window he could vaguely make out the outlines of what appeared to be his new living quarters for the next while, the barracks. However it wasn't until he saw that being at the front of the bus, the one who had broken down so many recruits before him, that a coy smile finally slid across his face since he first boarded that plane. This was to be Josh's superior, his mentor, his hero, and his most hated enemy; the Drill Sergeant.

(Sorry if it's a bit lengthy, I got a little caught up in it.. sweatdrop )

Roleplay Name: Alexander Kyldrana
Marines (No unit is assigned during Basic Training)
Location: Airport/bus/arrival
Objective: Arrival to basic Training

[[Forgive me if I accidentally puppet someone I'm not supposed to.... I have extensive experience in this field.]]

Walking off the plane, Alexander Kyldrana, known as Alex or A.K. to his close friends, wiped the sweat from his brow as he stepped off the plane into the airport. The weather here was so much warmer than it was back home, and a little drier too, not as much moisture in the air.

The smell of the city wafted into his nostrils as he passed a window. Everything from food to smog to garbage assaulted his senses, as he wade his way from the gate towards the USO, where he would wait for the bus that would take him to Basic training.

Up until about ten minutes ago, the thought of Basic Training excited him. he had told everyone that he was going to be a Marine. He was going to be one of the Few, The Proud. The other recruits he shipped from the Recruiting station were all sitting near him, talking about how awesome this was going to be. Chattering like a bunch of school-girls who just lost their virginity.

It was then that they all saw it. The Giant red sign in perfect view of the Airplane window, as if purposely placed their. 'Welcome to The Marine Recruit Depot.' It was then Alex's heart sank. "What have I gotten myself into?" He asked himself out loud. No one answered.

Back to current time, Alex walked into the USO. The day was still early, so it wasn't very full. A lot of the recruits would be arriving at different times. Handing the nice woman behind the front counter his orders and Driver's license, she checked his name off a list she had near her.

Now came the waiting, and the anxiety. Alex didn't know what to expect. His father had been in the Air Force, and basic training for him had only been six weeks, and that was 25 years ago. Marine basic Training was thirteen weeks of the most intense training the military had to offer.

As more recruits entered, he noticed they were all similarly outfitted like himself. A set of orders, and the clothes on their backs. Everything that they would need for the next thirteen weeks would be issued to them. They had been warned not to bring anything 'out of the ordinary', because then things could get ugly.

Then came the yelling. The loudest man he had ever seen had just come into the room, and every word... no, every syllable he spoke seemed louder than the one before. Lines formed almost instantly, as no one wanted to get on this guy's bad side. They would find out later that this guy wasn't even close to the Drill Instructors that they would receive their training from. This guy had already done all that, and was on his was out of the Drill Field.

Once they had packed the bus so full that a can of sardines wouldn't have been able to fit on their, they were instructed to place their heads between their knees, keep their 'nasty, maggot eyes closed, so help you god.' At least, that was what Alex thought the guy had said. He wasn't sure, he was still in shock.

"Dear God, what have I gotten myself into...." The thought was silent, out of fear of what this crazy guy in uniform might do if he had uttered that phrase out loud.

Drill Sergeant
Military D.I's
Bus
Arrival

The DI glared at the new recruits, Lance, Ron, and Marcus, a menacing glow of hate pouring out of his body. The recruits' first display of action had been hellish, disgraceful, and down right putrid, but the DI fully capable of molding these hunks of clay and s**t into something useful, and that didn't smell so bad..
"ATTENTION! Recruits, forward march. Get in a line; alphabetically by height- I want to see entirely what you are capable of! Present your name, height, and weight recruits! Refer to yourself as 'this soldier' and not as 'I' as well. The drill sergeant barked and spat as he spoke, a blue vein trembling in the upper right corner of his forehead, almost like it was about ready to explode and gush torrents of blood all over the new recruit, mercilessly. The red hot intensity of a thousand burnings stars gleamed in his eyes, as the slaughter he was about to ensue heightened his level of excitement.

The Drill sergeant rolled his eyes and then approached the recruit, who had not gotten and line, and who had just spoke without being spoken to, and questioned the DI's orders. "Oh, really Sherlock? Really? You think your the only God Damn person in this whole God Damn group that understands that? Get your a** in line soldier; one more out burst like that and I've got some severe punishment for you. Don't think I'll go easy on you by kicking you out; I'm not going to get you a vacation. You'll go through hell. Now get the ******** in line. Obviously, I don't give a s**t where you are, just that you are. So do as I say. Get in a ******** line!" The DI hoped his promptness and harshness had gotten through to the recruit.
