Vincent saw the way Hiniko was running her hand through her hair and she seemed to be in distress that she was desperately trying to keep beneath the surface. He couldn't hold back any longer and he went to her but then he stopped remembering how he had already made the offer that he would be there for her if she needed to talk or any kind of help and to make another move before hers would press her and Vincent was the sort of individual never to press anything on anyone.

Hiniko watched vincent make his way to her and she said nothing to stop him. She didn't mind if he came over. She gave him a small inviting smile. She took a small breath. They could talk softly to eachother, while they awaited further instruction right?

Vincent then decided that perhaps that if he was in her presence he could have her talk to him and thus he walked further onward and stood next to her awaiting for her to speak.

He could feel himself growing cold from the anxiety that he was having but he tried to hide the expression he had thanks to the high collar of his cloak which covered up half of his face.

"Tell me what's wrong", he thought, "I'm here, Hiniko."

(think we're posting to much?)

Hiniko looked straight ahead curling her knees up to her chest. She waited a few minutes before saying anything. She was tired of thinking. "Promise me something?" she said softly though she didn't look up at him. She bit her lip so hard she thought it might bleed. Here we go she thought.

"What do you want me to promise?" Vincent asked.

Hiniko took a deep breath. "If I talk to you......don't take it for granted." She shook her head. "don't....don't become a friend or something and then hurt me." she said not knowing how to word this. She felt confused.

Vincent understood the nature of the promise and he knew that he would never do such a thing to someone who is a friend and a comrade.

"I promise you," he said softly, "i will never do that. I won't harm or hurt you."

Hiniko nodded soberly. She took a deep breath. It would feel so much beter when she explained this all to him. "If I start to get on your nerves or you have a question stop me alright?" she asked. She launched into her story.

"I watched my dad get murderd in front of me. When I was little I was kidnapped by ninja from the sound village." She stated pausing. This was harder than she thought.

User Image Zin kept his eyes on the Hokage as he wondered if there was a correct answer to his. He shook his head and sighed as his slitted eyes looked around the room to each one that answered. When he looked up to Nagi, who was clinging to his arm,Zin blinked and noticed that his friend was noticing heightened emotional levels. He tilted his head and turned around to Hiniko and Vincent whispering with her facial expression behind a little......worried or stressed. Sorta hard to tell but he turned back around and looked at the Hokage;never good to stick your nose where it wasn't invited but he hoped everything was going ok for the two. Zin was especially excited that they were so close to graduating.

"It's okay, Hiniko," Vincent said as he placed his hand upon her shoulder. "Take your time."

Hiniko sighed taking in a deep breath. She almost didn't care who heard her now though she continued to talk softly. She couldn't lose anything she hadn't already lost before. Who knows maybe Vincent could help her reach her goal.

"I was gone for two years. I don't know where I was, but I tried to get away. They chained me to a wall and would beat me if I didn't talk. When They got tired of me fighting back, they broke my leg." She sounded angered at this and the more she talked the more then and outraged she sounded.

They fed me, but would poisen it. Just enought to make me sick. Confused. They did this for two years" she said clenching her fists. My head was so messed up. She chuckled ironicly. Oh and thay would play this one tune repeatedly. It would drive me insane" she said trying to laugh to keep from crying. By the time someone had come to save me I had given up.

I hoped they would just kill me. I didn't have what they wanted. My father had information and something they wanted. They thought because I was silent and observative I knew about it. They were wrong. They killed my dad in front of me.." she repeated her voice dropping. Her fists were clenched and shaking angrily. She looked on the brink of murdering someone.

"No I have medical problems....the docotrs think it might kill me." She said sounding confused slightly. "I refuse to die beforre I can kill those cowards" she stated simply.

Sev waited as the others finished their interactions and found, in their own way, what a shinobi really was. "It's not just doing what you're told by a higher rank or doing what must be done. But, when a moment to go further than the rest, you have the constitution to go as far as is needed." Sev leaned back slightly, a moment passed before he nodded. 'Sounds about right...' He thought to himself before tilting his head to face the others once more.

"I apologize." Sev hopped down and took a few steps closer to the others. "My name is Sevvyn Thurn, call me Sev." He bowed lightly before asking. "And you are all academy students as well?" He smiled warmly, although some words said before him bothered him.

The story was of such heart wrenching power that it made Vincent think back to his own village. How it may not have been attacked by the Kyuubi itself but it was one that suffered one of it's shock waves of its trashing tails that caused tsunamis and its footsteps that cause great earthquakes. The village itself had suffered landslides and flash floods at first but that was only the start. Then the diseases set in.

He remembered how cold and hungry he was for months at a time and how neighbors and good friends had turned upon one another and it was only from the strength of a few that brought order to the chaos. One of those few was his own father who convinced them that to survive they have to band together. He told them that a single bee can be killed but no one can destroy the hive.

Vincent had tried to imagine how it was for Hiniko to be tied down and beaten and tortured by strangers for something she didn't even know. Even worse was how young she must have been at the time and what other horrible things that those men could have done to her aside from breaking her leg.

Seeing her shake and clenching her fists he came down beside her and wrapped his arms around her pulling her close to him and wrapping his cloak around her shoulder as a makeshift blanket.

Within the warmth he finally understood why it was he was attracted to her and why he wanted to protect her. It was a distant memory but there was a young girl in his village named Ikuko who was just like Hiniko. She was a neighbor of his and his greatest friend but after the disasters struck she was caught under the debris. Her bones crushed and she suffered such pain for days before she died. All that time Vincent tried to be by her side but he was so powerless to do anything.

With that memory and feeling Hiniko shivering against him he whispered to her:

"I promise you," he said, "I will never hurt you."

"That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard..." spoke Haseo out loud as he stood up against the wall, hands going by his sides beneath the cloack. "A shinobi is nothing more than a tool used by others...to be a shinobi is to be a soldier, ready to die for its user. This talk about protecting and serving...it's utter bull. A shinobi is a killer...that's their job, that's their way of lives. A ninja, a master of shadows, death, and war. Without these, there wouldn't even be shinobis..."

Deil pushed off of the wall at these dark words. "Aye, some of what you say is true, but there is more to it. We are soldiers, but we are so for a reason. We defend this village and those we love. Without them, we would have no purpose, no heart, and no hope." He waited for the student to reply, and folded his arms.
