Clarissa was now mad. Not irked, but full out mad. Her prey was not too far off under the boot of some random girl, and another of her friends was going to get to eat that delectable piece of meat! AND SHE COULDN'T GET A FREAKIN' BITE BECAUSE OF THE DAMN IRISH MAN.

With a growl, she succumbed to her Hunger and started to attack Fin. He'd make an adequate meal. At one point, she nearly swiped his arm, but she'd been a fraction of a second too slow. All this running and swerving wasn't for nothing however; she was trying to see if he had a pattern, or a side he favored for running and dodging.

A, now free, watched Saieve. He didn't want to go and attack the man; he'd rather the man come at him. There would be more room for slip ups on Saieve's part, and A was just counting down the time for Saieve to succumb to his Hunger.

Finnegan ducked to the left to evade Clarissa, "Ah, lass, just remember you made me do this." he said as he continued to round towards Clarissa's back as she was still going forward. Not wanting to risk anything, he was moving fast now, really, really fast. He even surprised himself, as he hadn't had much of a chance to play with his sigil powers.

Now behind Clarissa, Finnegan tucked his arms underneath her outstretched arms and crossed his left hand over to the right side of her neck and his right hand straight up, acting as a grapple for his left. He tightened the hold and lifted, raising her jaw up.

"Now lass, you're gonna hafta calm down, now ya are, 'less I have to put you to sleep."

*

Saieve was starting to breath deeply, trying to control himself, it was getting difficult. "You...know, I know what you're doing...and it's not gonna work."

Saieve took a step forward as he spoke.

Well this was very irritating. She was in no position to bite him - which was a bit worrisome because her only thought consisted of eating him. She couldn't even run or move out of his grip because her feet were off the ground. Why is everyone so tall?

It didn't stop her from twisting and wriggling and trying everything to get out of his grip. "Let go," she growled. "I'm so Hungry...I need food. I NEED to eat. I hate this," she cried in a moment of sanity. "I hate being like this, but I'm just so hungry. I need something."

A merely raised his eyebrow. "Won't work, eh? Boy, you have no idea how to control your instincts. You failed before." He saw how hard Saieve was concentrating. "You will fail again. It's because you've already failed that I will have to eliminate you. I am sad to do that job, but if it means keeping you from killing more innocent civilians, then I will." It was only a matter of time before Saieve would give up - A only needed to wait.

"You'll get some sleep, lass, don't worry, I'm sure they'll take care of ye whenever ya get back to wherever it is you guys came from."
He began to apply pressure to her neck with his arms, slowing circulation to her brain but not completely cutting it off.

"Jus' breath deeply, hon."

*

"I can...beat this." Saieve breathed, "I can...beat you." there was strain in his voice, "It's not...our faults. We didn't choose to be like this, we didn't want this!" Saieve tried to retain his composure. His mother flashed through his mind and he grimaced, "You want to keep me from killing civilians, then teach me how to control...myself."

He swallowed, "Or..." he added in a lower tone, "Let me eat you, instead."

Clarissa froze before getting even more frenzied to get out of Fin's grip. "Hah! Take care! They want to kill us! Kill us for something we can't control!" She felt herself starting to black out, but she had to stay awake. "I didn't want this. An' I dun'wanna die..." She kicked his leg - rather painfully too - to get him to let her go. He grunted and loosened his grip on her just enough for her to wrench herself out of his grasp. It didn't matter that she was probably going to be back in that same position in a minute or so; she couldn't let herself give up like that. "If they catch us, they'll kill us."

Survival instinct was strong, and it was more persuasive more than Hunger. She wanted him to understand that she just COULDN'T get herself get captured or put down. It would mean her death.

A frowned. "What do you mean not your fault? You volunteered for this." Just a little bit longer now. "You think we didn't try to teach you how to control yourselves? There was only so long that we had time to help teach you, and even then some just couldn't take it..."

He raised an eyebrow at the last comment. "If I could, I'd help you out. Unfortunately, eating is not one the ways to help. You're in no condition to be accepting anything in any case."

Fin grunted as Clarissakickehis leg, "Oy, lass, ye ain't gonna make this easy, are ya? I don't wanna kill you, nor hurt you, even, and I wouldn't let them hurt a young lass like yourself, either. Jus' look at 'im." he gestured at Jesse's unconscious body, "He's not awake, and he's not tryin to eat anyone, he ain't. No one's bothering him 'cuz he ain't no threat right now, they have other things to worry about. Now, jus' let me do the same for you, I'll make sure me brother gets ye back safely, I will."

*

Saieve shook his head has he fell more and more to the hunger, "You have time now," he squatted, no longer making any apparent advances, "Teach me. It either that...or you martyer yourself to me. You know...that I'll escape, probably still hungry...maybe" he winced, "kill a few...people to hold me over. That is...unless you...sacrifice yourself...to save those people. You...you seem like a nice guy, do you really...really want me to kill an innocent person or two? I see you have three options...teach me, help me help you, don't do anything and watch me escape, hear about a few people going missing and deal with the same guilt I have to (only you could have stopped it), or...let me eat you. You look...real tasty...probably would...hold me over for a while...you'd save..many lives.

The hunger inside me...it wants me to eat you, or at least those people...but the real me...it wants to be taught to control the hunger..."

Clarissa scoffed. "You're not an Agent, you won't kill me. But you don't know them, now do you? You didn't hear Agent R threaten us, did you?!" She crouched almost ready to run, "You can promise all you want, but in the end, you're working for them and can't assure me my life."

A ran a hand though his hair. "It's not something easily explained. Otherwise, you'd still be in the program." After hearing Saieve's explanation, A's eyes narrowed. "There's another option, one that I was ordered to do: kill you. It will cause the least amount of deaths, and offers the cleanest solution to everyone's problems." Eating A to save lives was complete bull. "You think I haven't felt what you're feeling? That Hunger? It'll take a lot more time than what we have here to give you the control you crave. Even then, I doubt you can get it."

He got into a fighting stance. "Here are your choices: give up and let me help you, or die to ensure the country's safety."

Fin sighed, ready to bolt after her. He took a step closer, "I won't be with them for long..." he said just loud enough for her to hear,
"I may not be able to 100% assure your safety, bit Saieve can if you let me help, I can't let ye go around and risk being killed by someone with less morals than your's truly."

*

Saieve shook his head, "I'm a comprehensoe person...I assure you...all I need to know is enough to keep
me from harming innocents, I have all day."

He sighed at the mention of being killed, "Killing me isn't right...I'm sure you feel...that way. What about my family? My..." he shuddered, "Mother...my little brother. He's here, you know, you'd certainly lose an ally."

he maintained his squatting, "I've already asked for your help," he pointed out, "Not necessarily giving up, and you know I can't let you kill me, I already told you I'd definitely escape... Hungry."

Clarissa stared at him. "...why do you care so much?" She tried running again only to have him be in front of her yet again. "You should be helping your brother. Or your friends. Why waste time with me?" She growled out that last bit. The Hunger was clouding her judgment again, since she wasn't about to be killed.

If A were any less of a man, he'd have huffed. "Killing people is never right, but it is sometimes necessary for the good of many in the long run." He sounded like he was ready to kill Saieve, but he made no movement towards the man. "I'm not R, but I can certainly kill you and make sure you never harm another innocent. And you can surrender to me, and I'll make sure you get in the program again. I'll help you with control."

When Saieve stayed in his squatting position, A narrowed his eyes. "The quickest way for you to learn is to remember your training. You'll find your answer there. I can't tell you because you failed the experiment...I don't think what works for me will work for you."

Finnegan nearly froze at the question, but quickly snapped out of it as she tried to run again, "I...I can't really say." he answered, "My brother can handle himself and I only have acquaintances here. All I know is that it isn't right for a lass like yeself to be here. I can't in all good moral standings let you run off on yer own an' get hurt."

*

"No..." Saieve mumbled, "If you could just get me back into training, why not... the others? Why should I...trust you? You gave up...on my once, why would... this time be any different?"
He shook his head again.

"You want to...help me? Then teach me. Here...and now. At least...what you can, please. I won't surrender..."

He sighed, "How am I supposed to...remember my training? How did you...learn to control the hunger?"

He went from squatter to a sitting position, his right leg sprawled out of the floor and his left foot planted in the ground with his knee bent.

Schraeder blinked into being in the air above and behind Saieve and struck a whip kick into the side of the Host's head. Saieve saw stars briefly as he slid across the floor.

"Glad to help," Schraeder panted to Host-Agent A, having obviously misread the situation. "I'm gonna...go help out...the guy that are on the floor."

He blinked away, appearing next to Jon. He laid a hand on the man, then blinked over to the pile of rubble that had been the result of the Nihilites' initial appearance. He left the man on top of the rubble, figuring that it would be difficult for anyone to get to him that couldn't teleport or fly.

He made his stumbling way to the bottom of the pile and fell heavily to his knees. He coughed, then coughed again; soon, he could barely stop. His chest was tight and he couldn't breath.

No more blinking for now. He wasn't going to push anymore. He sat on a rock to watch the last of the fight.

Saieve groaned as his face hit the floor and he skidded towards A. He groaned as he brought his head up and pushed himself off the floor and back into a sitting position. He rubbed the back of his head as he spoke to A, "So..." he grunted, "What do you...say? Will you...help me?" (APx2)

A gave a long sigh. "I can't do much for you. As I said, what works for me may not work for you." A walked towards Saieve (nonthreatening) with a hard stare. "Had it been my choice, I wouldn't have given up on the failures - everyone can be trained. However, I was a soldier who didn't hold any sway and therefor couldn't help anyone."

He looked remorseful for a second, but Saieve couldn't be sure. It could have been the Hunger clouding his judgement. "You probably don't remember the others' help, do you? Heh. Well here's your second chance." A was now standing right in front of Saieve. "For me, I had to accept my Hunger. I had to realize it was there and understand that I could not change it. I will always be Hungry. For instance, there's nothing stopping me from wanting to eat the knocked out Host over there," he referred to Jesse. "But while I accept this Hunger, I refuse to let it control me. I will not let it rule my mind."

Clarissa walked up to Fin - she was clenching her hands so tightly, it was a wonder she wasn't bleeding from the claws. "You think I can't take care of myself?" She glared at him. "Why me? There are other girls that could use the help," she thought of Helena and Elizabeth. Speaking of whom, she wondered where Elizabeth was. Helena was still salivating over M last she saw.

Adela kept up the pace with Elizabeth getting quite the work out. "Can't...we all...just get along?" Ducking a punch, she swung her leg to sweep the girl off her feet. It also helped that the girl's legs would be extremely injured by said kick.

Saieve focused best he could on A's words. The hunger...it wanted to lash out at A, devour him more and more the closer he got. Saieve resisted best he could, the urge almost overwhelmed him. His muscles tensed as he continued to sit and the agent made his approach.

He listened closely to A's tactic and closed his eyes. Accept the hunger... he told himself, If I can't beat it, I need to work with it...I can't let it control me, but it's there, it'll always be there.

He could feel his muscles relax as he forced himself to accept the hunger, but it was still eating away at him. He thought of his mother, then the severed arm and grimaced. He couldn't let himself do something like that again, he couldn't let himself harm someone innocent or someone important to him again. What of his brother? He could black out and attack Fin. Or his friends? Or what's left of his family?

No.
He couldn't let that happen. He couldn't let this hunger control him. He wouldn't, couldn't be a slave to it. Especially with the people he cares about at risk.

Saieve felt the stinging pull of hunger numb momentarily as these thoughts raced through his mind. He began to breath deeply. The hunger was still there, but Saieve felt he could control it for the time being, not for long, he knew, but it was still more than before.

He opened his eyes.

*

"Nonono, lass, it's not that!" he growled and ran his hands down his face, "It's just that...that..." he searched for words, Why am I having so much trouble with this? he thought, I've done this kind of thing a million times, why is this time any different?

He breathed deeply, "You and my brother...seem like you've spent some time together..." he told her, "You're probably important to him, he's a caring guy, he is. And you seem like a nice lass (when you're not stark raving mad)." he went on, adding the last bit under his breath, "I'd hate to see somethin' happen to you because of that."

A watched Saieve deal with the Hunger as best he could. It wasn't working out for him in the best way possible, but at least it was giving the man a reprieve. He had a small smile on his face when Saieve opened his eyes. "Good job. You've gotten at least one part of it. However, you'll need to work on it more in order for this to stay as a permanent thing. It's not something that can be done in a day," he said. Lord knew how many times he had to control his Hunger - especially when around his wife and child.

Clarissa raised an eyebrow. The guy was trying rather hard to stay with her, but for what reason, she had no idea. "I guess we've spent time. But so have the other girls. No reason I'm more important to him than anyone else." She frowned, "And I'm trying not to eat--" She whimpered. The Hunger was overwhelming, and she was clutching her stomach. She fell to her knees trying not to succumb to the desire to devour all in sight. It hurts so much. I'm starving.
