Mission: Flame On!
Objective: Catch a fire-type Pokémon (Baby or Basic, no legendary Pokémon)
Rewards: 600 Pokémon Dollars
----------Mission 1: Start!----------
It was midday. In his dimly lit room, Zero pulled out a series of maps. As a Team Aqua member, he was obligated to do some Pokémon catching, but…
“There’s a lot of places to go,” he muttered. The Countess cried her agreement.
“Well, where should we go?” he asked. The mountains? Zubat would love the scenery, but they both knew what caves looked like. Adventuring meant that they would be out of their safety zone. The forest? It would be like a green ocean. Plenty of bugs for the Countess to feast on, but…
Poliwag jumped in excitement, wanting to contribute to the decision-making. Zero looked down at the tadpole. “Well, where do you think we should go?”
The Poliwag jumped in the air and stuck itself to a map. Zero grimaced. “No, don’t pile slime on the maps! You’ll ruin them!” Poliwag ignored the scolding and pointed its tail at a mountain in Hoenn. The Countess took the map off of the wall and flew it to Zero’s line of sight, hovering just out of reach from the Poliwag. Zero looked at the slimed mark; at first glance, it seemed to be towards the desert area, but upon closer inspection, the most concentrated amount of sticky gunk was on a mountain just to the left. An active volcano, perhaps? He looked down at the Poliwag.
“All right, then. We’re off to Mt. Chimney.” The Countess slapped the back of the map against Poliwag, smeared its slime on the corners, then slapped the map on the wall. Poliwag’s slime acted as a glue, keeping the map securely on the wall. Zero smiled at the Poliwag.
“Epoxy, let’s go.” Poliwag jiggled a happy dance; it got a nickname!
A boat ride later, Zero landed at the northern edge of Hoenn. After thanking the captain, he crunched through the small forest and found his familiar path: Route 111. Ignoring the urge to see his desert, he read a sign and turned to face Route 112. Rather than say hello to a few picnickers, Zero sneaked through the tall grass. He didn’t move very far before he ran into what looked like a baby camel. The Numel looked up at him, giving Zero and the Countess a lazy stare and a yawn. Zero glanced at Zubat, then at the Numel. The Countess flew back into Zero’s hood; she knew better than to attack some bulky-looking thing. She shifted in her spectator’s seat; used to being Zero’s only companion, she attempted to resist the urge to battle. Zero nodded and tossed out his Pokéball.
“Come on out, Epoxy. Let’s see what you can do.” Poliwag leaped out of the ball and somersaulted onto the rocky ground, turning to face the Numel. Zero nodded to Epoxy. “Alright, you’ve got a huge advantage this time. Bubble, and try to hit the hole on its back.” Bubbles shot out of Poliwag’s mouth, some collecting on Numel’s face, but the rest popping, making a painful sting on Numel’s backside. Numel cried out in pain and charged at Epoxy. He cried out in pain, rolling onto the ground. Epoxy bounced back up and sprayed water over himself, washing off the pebbles. Numel’s body shook; his magma cooled, so it took a bit longer to pull out a good Ember. The small jet of flames had little effect on Epoxy, however, and after another jet of bubbles, the Numel’s body hardened and stiffened, rendering it incapable of moving, but not yet fainted. Epoxy leaped in joy; he (somewhat) defeated his first Pokémon! Epoxy turned to Zero, expecting for Numel to be caught in the same manner that he was. Instead, Zero picked up his Poliwag and shook his head. “Not this one.”
Epoxy and the Countess exchanged a confused look; was their master looking for a certain Pokémon? Zero picked up the heavy Numel and walked into the cable car. It began its ascent up the volcano, rocking to the gusts of wind that were so common in the area. While Zero read a pamphlet, the Countess and Epoxy sat at the window, admiring the scenery. Ash blew to the north, some gray flakes falling on the branches of the mountain pines. Epoxy tried to understand why the Numel wasn’t joining them, but it made no sense; that’s why they went to the mountain, wasn’t it? “Poliwa….” it pouted, slightly deflated. Perhaps it did something wrong? The Countess bumped into Zero’s cape and pulled out a small candy. She bumped into Epoxy, dropped the candy, and patted her wing against his back in an effort to console the saddened companion.
After exiting the cable car, Zero walked around. Pokémon trainers were battling at the volcano’s edge, and there were many visitors who came to ogle at the volcanic activity. After walking around, he stopped at a corner. An old lady was sitting on a wooden box, peddling her wares; Lava Cookies, on a special for 100 Pokémon Dollars each. Zero looked down at her. Her old wrinkled face smiled at the sight of the cloaked man.
“Why, it’s been quite a while, hasn’t it? Have you finally gotten yourself out of that old, dusty ruins to say hello?”
Zero smiled faintly at the old lady. He had helped the old Numel breeder when one of her Pokémon had fallen into a small cavern. “Brought you something.” With that, he put the Numel at her feet.
“Ah,” she exclaimed, “another Numel! Yes, this one seems to be in excellent health, ignoring any injuries that you must have caused it.” She threw out a Pokéball. “Come on out, Scipio.” A Charmander jumped out of the ball, landing next to the old woman.
“Where’d you get that one?” Zero asked, staring at the little fire lizard. Charmander grabbed a Lava Cookie and started crunching away, staring back at Zero.
“I found him a while ago. He loves cookies, and he started following me around.” The old lady grinned mischievously. “Say, how about a quick battle? Tell you what, I’ll let you keep the Charmander if you win. You brought me a Numel, after all. You could call it a trade or whatever it is you youngsters call it.” She tossed a Pokéball at the Numel, catching it. She sent it out afterwards, pulling out a potion. After healing her Numel, she looked at the Charmander. “Put your tail to this cold one and light him up again.” Her head turned to Zero. “You’d best get used to fighting two-on-two, Zero. You never know who will try to outnumber your Pokémon with their own. Nobody fights fair these days.”
Zero nodded and looked down at Epoxy. The Countess flew out of the hood and hovered above the Poliwag. Scipio smirked; he could beat down any silly jellybag and a weak bat. He nudged the sleepy Numel and flared up his tail-flame.
Zero began the commands. “Epoxy, Water Sport.” Epoxy aimed above his head, and the water covered both him and the Countess, its coolness welcome in the volcanic heat. The Countess flew close to Scipio and let out a particularly harsh shriek. Scipio flinched in pain, and Numel charged at the Countess. She crashed to the floor, the sharp rocks cutting into her wings. Epoxy focused its bubbles at Numel, once again slowing and cooling the Numel.
The old breeder pointed at Zubat. “Now, tackle it while it’s still low!” Scipio, enraged at missing the first strike, blew a stream of flames at the Countess. At the same time, Numel charged again at her. She dodged the Tackle at the cost of running straight into the fire. The flames puttered out upon touching the moist bat’s skin, but the force was still enough to knock Zubat to a tree. Poliwag leaped at Numel and stuck onto the back, blowing bubbles at its face. Numel, still weak after the last battle, collapsed and fainted. The Charmander lunged at Epoxy and scratched at his face. Poliwag stumbled off of the downed Numel and landed on its front.
Zero called out to the Countess. “Drop-bomb it with Epoxy!” The Countess, after taking a moment to recuperate, flew to Epoxy and carried him with her feet. Epoxy’s belly began to swirl, and the Countess dropped Epoxy on Scipio’s head. Scipio looked up, tried to scratch the falling Epoxy, but instead looked straight at the swirling belly and became hypnotized. The Countess landed next to the sleeping Scipio and, almost out of strength, began leeching the life out of him. Epoxy sprayed a few bubbles at Scipio’s tail, and the Charmander passed out.
Zero sighed in relief; the two seemed to work somewhat well together. The Countess flew back inside Zero’s hood, exhausted after the battle. Epoxy seemed to be losing its happy jumping energy; he was also fatigued. Zero threw his Pokéball to return Epoxy, much to the Poliwag’s relief.
The old woman laughed. “You seem to be doing well. I’m glad to see you’re broadening your horizons, at last.” She returned the two Pokémon to their balls, and handed one to him. “Here. He’s a little feisty, but I’m sure you can manage him.” Zero accepted the old woman’s gift, bowing slightly. He was about to say a thank-you when the old woman smacked him upside the head. “And get that ratty old thing off your head! It won’t hurt for your skin to see the sun once in a while, now, would it?” The Countess tumbled out of the hood, bouncing against Zero’s head before falling on his shoulder. He rubbed his head, his golden-orange hair a welcome contrast to the dark colors of his desert garb. Zero grinned sheepishly at the old woman.
“Heh, well, where else is the Countess supposed to take a break from the sun, besides her Pokéball?” He pulled the hood back up, stretched, and fixed his black-palmed, white-fingered gloves. He bought three cookies, waved his goodbye, and rode the cable car down the volcano. The Countess sat on Zero’s shoulder, and the pair stared at the sun as it dropped behind the mountainside.

Lady Kiki MISSION- High Tide The moon is out, the tides are swelling, and the fish are jumping! Get down to the shore and catch yourself a water pokemon!

First off, I'd would like to say this: This mission simply blew me away. I started reading, and it got interesting, which is always key for a good story. Sure, you misspelled a couple words, but only in the beginning of the story. I'll overlook that since it's a level one mission. But that's the thing. You've made your first mission very very long, and you did it very well. It's considerably lengthy for a level one mission, and you used many descriptive, colorful words that brought out the full awesomeness of such a simple mission. Therefore, I award you 400PD and your glossy little Feebas. biggrin Oh, and have an extra 100PD for a job well done. smile This grade can be overturned at any time by a Tier 1

Oh, my! Thank you so much!!! I am VERY happy that you thought very highly of the writing! -smiles- [To tell the truth, I went a little artistic ability with the subs. I was afraid that a Tier 5, like Ciel, wouldn't have access to drive one. xD]
As for the spelling, I know I have rather bad ones at times [and now that I go back, I see some errors myself! ;o] It kinda is an issue I have here and there. [Thank goodness for FireFox's spell-check option!!!] Since I don't have Word, I have to rely on that, and it doesn't always catch things, I guess. -laughs-
Huzzah for Medium Gloss Feebas~! I as reminded to what Blue PokéBlocks do to a Feebas from some Japanese comic I once read. xDDD

Mission: High Tide
Objective: Catch a water-type Pokémon (Baby or Basic, no legendary Pokémon)
Rewards: 400 Pokémon Dollars
----------Mission 2: Start!----------
intenthere Zero walked down a rocky coastline, holding up a map of the HQ’s island. He glanced back up and looked around. Somehow, this didn’t seem like the same harbor as the one on the map…
intenthere He glanced at a weather-beaten sign standing nearby a cottage. In faded, peeling paint, it read, “Route 25. Turn right for Bill’s Cottage.” The Countess flew ahead to scout out the surroundings, in an effort to be helpful. Zero sighed. He knew he wasn’t anywhere near the HQ. After pulling up a few more maps, his suspicions were confirmed: to get back to Aquos Island, he’d have to either cross Kanto and Johto, or take another dreadful boat ride from Vermillion City.
intenthere The Countess flew back to Zero. She flew in a small pattern. First, quick jabs to the right fork of the path; many trainers must be there. She flew to a narrow pass between two cliffs, signaling for Zero to follow her. He walked down the soggy path, not running into any trainers. He was relieved for that fact, but still found the walk unpleasant; every step squelched water onto his cape, and he hated the feeling. The Countess stopped for Zero to catch up while he trudged his way past Routes 25 and 24. Up ahead, houses, a gym, and a Pokémon Center could be seen. A city! The Countess flew into Zero’s hood, taking a break from the afternoon sun. Zero leaped down a small ledge and landed on the outskirts of Cerulean City.
intenthere He looked around. A quaint place, with newly added streetlights. He walked to the Pokémon Center, hoping to find information. A youngster was sitting in a chair off to the corner, waiting for Nurse Joy to finish healing his Pokémon. Zero walked up to the child, hoping to learn a bit from the locals.
intenthere “Excuse me,” he began, reminding himself to be polite. “Do you know the quickest way to get to Vermillion City? I need to reach a ferry as soon as possible.” The youngster grinned; he loved spouting out information to newcomers.
intenthere “Well sir, the easiest way to get there is if you go straight south. But if you just got here, I think you should do some fishing! It looks like you’ve got yourself a Good Rod inside that pack of yours, and Cerulean’s a famous fishing spot. In fact, I’d recommend you fishing here!”
intenthere Zero blinked; he didn’t particularly like the water, but since the child suggested it… He turned his head to look at the Countess. “Well, looks like we’re going fishing first.” She cried out in glee; unlike Zero, she loved watching the waves.
intenthere The young boy stared at Zero, then at the Countess. He gasped, quickly grabbed his Pokéballs from the Chansey’s tray, and rushed out the sliding door before Zero could even thank him for his help.
intenthere “Ah, well,” he said, turning to the door. “Perhaps I will try my hand at fishing.” Zero exited the Pokémon Center and looked around. He wasn’t a fisherman; how was he supposed to know which fishing spot was ‘good?’
intenthere “There he is! There’s the Team Rocket member! I saw him with his Zubat! He was trying to steal Pokémon from the Center!” Zero turned to listen to the screaming. The youngster pointed his finger at Zero, calling over to an Officer Jenny.
intenthere A siren sounded from Zero’s left. Out of instinct, he jumped to the side and hid in the shadows of the alleyways. A young officer ran over to the Pokémon Center and turned on her flashlight. “All right, you! I know you’re in here somewhere! If you turn yourself in right now, you might get a better appeal in court!” Zero looked around, keeping mental track of the officer’s location. He searched for a box, a crate, heck, even a fire escape; anything to help him get out of the dead end that he knew was further ahead. After a few second of quick searching, he saw his escape method: two buildings only a few feet apart. The Countess flew to the officer, snatching her flashlight and flying away. She ran after the Countess long enough for Zero to jump from wall to wall until he reached a roof. Upon noticing this, the Countess dropped the flashlight on Officer Jenny’s head and flew off.
intenthere Zero jumped rooftops until he reached the outskirts of the city. He landed in a large, leafy tree and waited for the Countess to return to him. Around ten minutes later, she flew in, carrying a small bag of bait with her. Zero took the bag and examined it. “You stole bait just so we could go fishing?” She nuzzled against Zero’s gloved hand in response. He sighed; he was such a softy for the Countess. “All right, all right. Let’s go fishing at that cape we left earlier.” He walked back to the ledge and leaped from rock to rock, landing at the top. He walked past Route 24 unseen, and was about to reach the cape when a little boy ran into him.
intenthere “Ouch! Watch where you’re…” The voice seemed to falter. The youngster looked up at the looming figure. “You’re that Rocket member! Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!” He pulled out his Pokéballs and struck a battle pose, trying to stop his nervous shivering. “You may have gotten away last time, but your luck’s run out!” The Pokéball slipped out of the youngster’s shaking hand. “Ah, crap, not again…”
intenthere Out of the ball came a weak-looking Caterpie. The Countess giggled; it was a real-life version of her candies! Zero smiled at his Zubat. “No, you can’t suck the life out of this one. Let’s have Menart handle this one.” Zero tossed out his Gible.
intenthere The youngster clenched his fists. “Let’s do this, Caterpie! Tackle!” The Caterpie gathered itself up like a spring and lunged at Menart. Zero smirked; this was going to be too easy.
intenthere “Menart, bite down on it and use Dragon Rage.” The Caterpie rammed head-first into Menart’s waiting, open jaws. Menart skidded a few inches back by the attack, but kept steady and sent out a shock wave from its mouth. The attack slammed onto the Caterpie, downing it in one hit. The youngster called back his fainted Caterpie and sent out a Metapod.
intenthere “Metapod, use String Shot!” A thick, white string emitted from Metapod’s mouth and wrapped around Gible. Menart clawed at the stretchy, stringy substance, struggling to get out of the stuff. Metapod charged into Gible, throwing it into the cliff wall. Menart bit at a rock and rubbed himself against the wall, freeing himself from bondage. He turned to the Metapod and charged recklessly. The Metapod threw a glob of the silk at Menart’s feet. Menart tripped, falling face-first into a large puddle. The water stung Menart’s face, and he struggled to get out of the new string. The Metapod lunged to tackle Menart again, but Menart rolled to the side and blasted a Dragon Rage at the enemy. The Metapod was thrown onto the opposite cliff wall, cracks appearing on its shell. The youngster cried out to his Metapod.
intenthere “Hurry! We can’t let this Rocket Grunt win! Get up and use Harden!” The Metapod slid off the rocky wall and added a layer of silk to its shell. Menart tore off the strings from its feet and charged at the wall, opening its mouth. It chewed its way into the wall, making a small tunnel. The Metapod used String Shot on the opening, sealing Menart in the wall. The Metapod hopped closer to the hole, spinning more string to the tunnel entrance. Next to the enclosed hole, Menart popped his head out and aimed another Dragon Rage. The Metapod, caught off-guard, collapsed at the youngster’s side. Menart walked over to Zero, panting a bit. He recalled Menart and faced the youngster.
intenthere “Look. I don’t know what ‘Team Rocket’ is, but I think you’re making a mistake.” The youngster threw some money on the ground and ran away from Zero.
intenthere “You’re a monster! Mommy!” The little boy sobbed and ran back to Cerulean City. Zero shrugged and walked back to Route 24; perhaps going to the cape wasn’t a good idea, after all.
intenthere He jumped over a picket fence that railed the riverside and sat on the grass, pulling out his rod. After fumbling at tying the hook to the string, he awkwardly cast out the rod. The Countess flew out of his hood, dropping the small amount of money that the youngster dropped at Zero’s feet. Zero looked at the winnings; 210 Pokémon Dollars. Not enough to buy a good meal with, but certainly enough for a few Lava Cookies for Scipio. He pocketed the cash and sighed. He tied the rod to his leg and leaned back. Perhaps a quick nap would be helpful…
intenthere A sharp tug at his leg forced him awake. He opened his eyes and grabbed at the rod. The evening waters splashed with Magikarp, and Zero’s rod had a Pokémon! He pulled at the rod, reeling in quickly; he didn’t want to lose his first catch!
intenthereAt the end of Zero’s rod was a Horsea. Instead of trying to get back to the sea, however, it squirted a Smokescreen at Zero's face! Zero wiped the inky liquid off his face and frowned. His catch seemed to be quite the hassle already. "Alright, Countess, let's finish this one quickly. Supersonic." The Countess let off sound waves, but the Horsea closed its fins and shot a multitude of large bubbles at her. The Countess fell to the ground, temporarily unable to fly while the bubbles were on her wings. She once again tried to use Supersonic on Horsea, this time uttering out a high-frequency series of notes instead of her usual low ones. The sound reached Horsea and caused confusion. Horsea sent out a Water Gun at the noisemaker, which freed the Countess from her bubbles, but at the cost of getting more wing damage. She flew to the air and dodged another spray of bubbles. As the Horsea readied itself for another Water Gun, the Countess dove in and closed her mouth on Horsea's tail. Still holding onto the Horsea, she flew higher in the air and dropped it. The Horsea spun its body in midair and fired a quick Water Gun, sniping the Countess from the sky. The Countess took the hit, but attacked the helpless Horsea with her sharpened wing.
intenthere The Horsea landed on the ground and tried spraying bubbles at the Countess, but in its confusion, sprayed itself. The Countess landed near the Horsea and Leech Lifed the Horsea, tasting victory with every gulp. She flew next to Zero, satisfied with her work. He hesitated a moment, then tossed a Pokéball at the downed Horsea. The Pokéball shook wildly, but settled to rest. He grinned; another Pokémon caught. He patted the Countess on her head, and she gave a toothy grin in return.
intenthere While Zero walked towards Vermillion City, his mind began to wander. What to name his new Pokémon? After silently brooding over the question for a few minutes, he sat down on a ledge's edge and sent out the Pokéball. The Horsea leaped out and promptly hopped to a nearby pond. She dove underwater and resurfaced a few minutes later with a pebble in her mouth. She took a moment to aim and shot Zero's hood right off his head. He grinned; this Horsea seemed to have a feisty attitude about her. "Right then. You'll be called Leviathan." She shot another pebble, this time at Epoxy's ball. Epoxy leaped out, confused at the newcomer. Leviathan glared at Epoxy; she was the alpha-water type, and she wanted to prove it. Epoxy hid behind Zero's cape, a sign of defeat and submission to Leviathan. The Horsea sounded her cry of victory, and returned to swimming in the water.
intenthere Zero laughed; he seemed to have picked a good name. He lifted his hood back up, sent the two water-types back to their Pokéballs, and continued on his way south, wondering what else Kanto had in store for him.

----------Mission 3: Start!----------
indenthereThe S.S. Rhapsody began its voyage across the sea, her destination: Olivine City. She was like a knife cutting through butter; that is, if the knife was made of flimsy paper, and the butter was a frozen mass of blubber. Rhapsody ran into stormy seas the minute she left Aquos Island's port, her old hull creaking at every crashing wave. Zero's stomach lurched; of all things, why did he have to get on the Rhapsody? His mind recalled the events leading up to his poor choice in ships.
--Flashback--
indenthereZero looked at the S.S. Rhapsody doubtfully. He turned to the captain. "Are you sure this thing can get me to Olivine quickly?"
indenthere The senile old man nodded. "If you want to get off this land before the Promised Time, it's the only way to go. She's in the best conditions to get you to Snowpoint City!"
indenthere Zero stared at the old captain. "I need to get to Olivine, not Snowpoint."
indenthere "That's what I said, son, Slateport."
indenthere Zero sighed. He was the only captain who was willing to sail the seas at this time, so he didn't have much of a choice. He followed the old man into the ship.
--End Flashback--
indenthere Zero braced himself as another wave struck the rusty boat. After experiencing seasickness the first time he traveled by boat, he felt certain he wouldn't have to go through it again, but in these rough waters, even the air reeked.
indenthere Zero started. Wait... The air wasn't this foul earlier... He looked around his cabin. Rusty door, a low, leaky roof, slightly rotting wooden floors, dingy basin, but nothing that would make the room reek so potently. He sent out Gible and Scipio. "Go find the source."
indenthere Zero opened the door and let the two search the boat. Gible went to the kitchen area, and Scipio searched the empty cabins. Zero tossed out another Pokéball, and Epoxy popped out. He looked down at the Poliwag. "Follow Scipio. The last thing we need is for his tail to accidentally catch something on fire." Epoxy saluted Zero with his tail and wobbled off to catch up to his fiery friend.
indenthere A loud thump abovedeck caught Zero's attention. He looked up at the Countess, who was swaying along with the ship while hanging from the ceiling. "Stay here and report to me if either of the groups find out what's causing the stench. I'm going to check the Captain's quarters." He turned on his heel and raced to the deck, hoping he wouldn't find a broken mast or something. While he stepped onto the stairway leading to the deck, the lights flickered and died. Zero muttered a curse under his breath; of all the rotten luck...
indenthere Scipio turned to look at Epoxy; why was he always the one stuck with the whiny little baby? He rushed ahead from room to room, with Epoxy struggling to catch up. Scipio pushed open the first door, using his tail to look around. Epoxy poked his head from behind the door, curious to see what the inside looked like, but too frightened to go in alone. The ship reminded Epoxy of the ghost stories that Leviathan used to tell. Ghost ships with the wandering, lost souls of pirate-Pokémon, a wailing Ghastly, and murderous thieves were plentiful in the oceans, according to the sea-loving Horsea. The ship creaked, and Epoxy leaped into the air. Scipio exited the first cabin, snickering at Epoxy's irrational fear. The door closed behind Scipio, and both Pokémon jumped. Scipio ran off to inspect the next cabin, suddenly wishing he were safe and sound in Zero's cabin, or perhaps his Pokéball.
indenthere Menart ran off to the kitchen, getting used to the dim lighting. He walked through the double-doors and immediately smelled a repulsive odor. It was a mix of rotten eggs, sour milk, dirty clothes, sewage, and a rotted fish. Whatever the smell was, Menart knew it was bad. He turned to the kitchen doors and ran off to report his findings to Scipio, so he could get a better lighting. A sticky hand grabbed at Gible's foot before he could get past the door. Menart cried out in surprise and struggled with all his might to escape, but more hands reached out and dragged him deeper into the dark kitchen. Menart's cries were stifled, and the kitchen hall was dead-quiet, save for a few sounds of metal clinking against metal.
indenthere Zero shifted his weight as another wave crashed onto the deck, the waves washing onboard. His shoes managed to keep their grip to the floor, and he continued running to the Captain's quarters. As he ran to the door, it flung open, and he was knocked off his feet. At that same moment, a huge wave crashed against the ship, causing it to rock violently. Zero fell overboard with a splash, hitting the water hard. He dived quickly underwater and sent out Leviathan, trying not to gasp at how cold the water was. He grabbed onto her tail and pointed upwards. Leviathan nodded, sending Zero to the surface of the water to catch a breath before swimming after the ship. A Tentacool latched onto Zero's leg, trying to pry him away from the Horsea. Leviathan squirt her black ink at the Tentacool while Zero used his other foot to kick away the jellyfish, and he was freed from the grasp. The Tentacool sprayed acid on the two, and Zero was forced to let go of Horsea while he grabbed his arm in pain. Leviathan calmed herself in the treacherous waters and aimed for Tentacool's red gem. She dragged Zero above the water, and the Tentacool followed, wanting to capture its prey. As soon as Tentacool's head popped out of the water, Leviathan squirted her long-pressurized Water Gun straight at the red spot. A Critical Hit! Her sniping ability paid off, and the dazed Tentacool sunk beneath the waters.
indenthereThe two swam away from the battle area and found the boat. The ship rocked on the water, and Zero's eye caught a rope swinging on the side of the hull. After taking a moment to time his jump right, he kicked off the hull and forced himself upward to grab onto the rope. The jump caused him to swing from side to side, occasionally jarring his body against the wall of rusty metal. Zero climbed the rope, ignoring the increasing pain on his shoulder from its constant thumping on the boat. Once back on deck, he turned back to Leviathan, her small body bobbing with the waves. He pulled out his Pokéball and recalled her, glad to be out of the ocean. Another wave struck the boat, and Zero clung to the rail, now afraid that each splash would drag him back to the watery depths.
indenthere Scipio and Epoxy walked back to Zero's cabin. They looked up at the Countess, confused; where did Zero go? The Countess flew down and sent out a series of waves. Zero seemed to be approaching the cabin. The door opened, and a soaked Zero stepped in. Scipio hid from the dripping mess, while Epoxy did the opposite, squirting Zero with clean water to wash off the saltiness. Zero removed his cloak and wrung it out. The Countess picked up his wet cloak and hung it on her ceiling perch to let it dry. He looked down at Scipio and Epoxy, wringing out his hair while interrogating them. "Did you find anything? And where's Menart?" The two shrugged, neither one knowing what happened to the Gible. Zero took out a Pokéball and recalled Epoxy. "Well, let's go find him, then. Scipio, take the lead to the kitchen."
indenthere The closer they got to the kitchen, the worse the smell seemed to get. When they approached the kitchen doors, there seemed to be a purple ooze on the floor. Zero held his nose. "Looks like Menart may have gotten himself in more trouble than we thought." He pushed the doors open. Sitting in the room was...
indenthere A room full of Grimer, all wearing chef's hats. Gible was sitting on a chair, holding out a fork in one hand, and a knife in the other, with his napkin already dirty from his first course. Zero, Scipio, and the Countess were taken back by the scene. The room itself (save for the floor) was immaculately clean. The Grimer were preparing what seemed to be a feast! Two were stirring feverishly at a huge, boiling pot, while another one poured in a number of vegetables. A Grimer was sautéing a mix of potatoes and a flavorful, seasoned meat over an open flame, and three Grimer were preparing the plates. In the middle of it all, a huge Muk acted as head chef, slapping its huge spoon at a few Grimer who spilled some of their own ooze onto the plates and sampling everything. Zero sat down on a chair next to Menart and tried to not throw up at the conflicting smells coming from all the Grimer and the food. One of the Grimer squelched its way over to the table, dressed in a vest and bowtie, holding out a platter. The Grimer smiled and served the guests. Gible immediately chowed down on the food. Scipio held his nose and nervously poked at a potato, while the Countess slurped up the hearty soup. Zero gulped; he couldn't be rude. He took a bite out of a piece of bread. It had a strange, citrus taste to it. Zero loved citrus! He immediately downed the rest of the plate, fully satisfied with the first course. The Grimer continued serving courses, finishing the dinner off with a sweet crêpe filled with ripe strawberries and cream.
indenthere "Wow... I wasn't expecting something like this." He looked down at the dressed-up Grimer. "Give my regards to the chef... er... chefs, please." The Grimer nodded happily and moved its way towards the Muk. Muk gave a huge, suffocating hug to Zero and slid its way back to the kitchen. Zero cringed at the hug, holding his breath.
indenthere The old Captain popped his head in. "There you are, son. I figured you'd end up where the food's at. I see you've met my Muk there." The Muk blew a sludge-bubble from its mouth. The old man looked down at Zero's plate. "Seems you like little Grimer's special bread, eh? Learned it from my very own Muk, that he did. You know, that reminds me of a story..."
indenthere Zero could no longer stand being in the room. He apologized for any rudeness, but he was just so tired that he had to rest for the night. The old man grinned. "Sure, sure. One of the Grimer will take you back to the room." The vested Grimer led Zero and his companions out.
indenthere As he opened the door to his cabin, Zero looked down at the Grimer. "Hmm... You know... I bet you'd love to expand on your culinary skills, right...?" The Grimer looked up at Zero, beginning to understand Zero's underlying question. He nodded. Zero grinned. "Great, because I'd hate to leave the ship without having... er... something to remember it by." That bread was just too good! I could even ignore the smell of that Muk with that delicious food. He pulled out a Pokéball. "So, how about it? You'll meet lots of new places, and taste lots of new foods. You won't get this opportunity again, I think." The Grimer considered his options, touched the button of the Pokéball, and after a few shakes, was the newest member to Zero's team.
indenthere In the morning, Zero woke up to the captain's calls from abovedeck. "Hey! Son! We're here! Just what you were looking for! Vermillion City!" Zero sighed. Maybe the old man lived with the poisonous fumes for too long...
----------Mission 3: Complete---------- ---------Writer's Notes--------- I wanted to do a mission where I didn't have to beat the crap out of a Pokémon. I think I failed. MISSION: Flame on!
Objective Catch any non-evolved, non-legendary fire-type
Rewards: 600 pokémon dollars----------Mission 1: Start!----------
The sun casts its surreal shadow quietly all across the Kanto Region. The horizon sparkles faintly as Saffron City comes alive with its glowing buildings and dim street lights. A murkrow descends from the colorful sky to rest on one of the city's many gigantic buildings. "Murkrow! Murkrow! Murkrow!" its raspy call shrieked out in the twilight, calling to other dark shadows that swarmed the area.
~~~Meanwhile, in a treehouse hideout just outside the city~~~ ------------------------------------------------------------- "Murkrows seem to enjoy sunsets." Toji began writing, "I didn't expect them to be social creatures, since they seem to lack the colored feathers most bird-pokémon share." Toji peeked again through his treasured telescope, which was a farewell gift from Professor Cedrus.
Having slept all throughout the long day, Zubat was hanging upside down quite comfortably in the hideout's wooden rafters. It was a small gazebo built for two used for weather observations in the city's rural days. "Alright, I only have to somehow catch 1 pokémon, right?" Toji looked at zubat, his new companion from Aqua HQ.
He sighed, wondering if it were possible to be in Team Aqua without harming any pokémon. Outside, the city was already glowing brighter as the moon, as if on cue, had risen into the starry sky.
Toji concluded the day's entries with a note, "Beware of murders of Murkrow when the sun sets." With that piece of self-advice, Toji bolted the rusted doors shut and put the iron bars over the windows, hoping no bug-pokémon would wiggle through and poison-sting him in his slumber.
~~~4 Hours later that night~~~ -------------------------------------------------------------
A lone growl and a pair of red eyes gazed at the hidden treehouse. Scents told the hungry pokémon that there was at least one trespasser in it's den. It crept though the dark grass, low to the ground in the bright moonlight. Finding the dark shade of an overgrown Oran berry bush as perfect cover, it waited patiently and listened.
There were human snores rumbling from the shadowed hideout.... "Grrrrrr...!" The red eyes creeped slowly but purposefully to the base of the old tree and started to ascend.
~~~In the Treehouse~~~ -------------------------------------------------------------
The night was ever so young for the waking zubat. While it was annoyed earlier at being kept in a pokeball instead of a dark, damp, and cool cave, he had given zubat a mediocre place to sleep, up in the shadowed recess of the gazebo. Before zubat used his oppurtunity to escape and flee to a cave where its family probably was waiting, there was a scratching at the door.
Zubat tilted its head and waited, not making a sound. Again the scratching sound and a low growl from outside. Zubat, using his instincts as a creature of the night, swooped out through the window, folding in its wings to get through the barred window effortlessly.
Flying out into the dark brought back many heartfelt memories for Zubat, after being caged up at Team Aqua's holding pens. Looking down, it saw a mangy growlithe moving it's way to the window of the treehouse, since the human had carefully locked up the metal safety door.
Zubat knew what was going to happen. Toji would wake up to see his worst nightmare at the window, red eyes glowing embers and fire blazing through the open window. Because the door was locked, Toji was a goner. He would be cooked down to charcoal, and the city humans would never know he was gone.
~~~In the gazebo~~~
When Zubat swooped outside the gazebo and escaped, Toji had felt the wind from Zubat's Wings brush against his cheek.
~~~Thinking back~~~
Fortunately for himself, Toji was a light sleeper and had slept wearing his pack, in case he had to run for it. Because he originally came from Saffron and escaped from his family, he was slightly paranoid about his father's goons finding him, because everywhere he went, there were posters and even bounty posters put on his head.
He didn't fully trust Team Aqua. From the stories he had heard, Team Aqua wasn't above stealing whatever they wanted, when they wanted. The 5 million pokédollar bounty on his head if he was returned......
Professor Cedrus would be waiting for him, although Toji Emordal had no idea where he was hiding as well. With the right pokémon however, finding him would be much easier then they could escape the whole region.
Toji's train of thought was interupted as something banged harshly against the bars. "Holy ~!!!!" Growlithe started charging into the bars. "Guess I stole his favorite sleeping spot" Toji thought. He thought about running away, but as he looked up, zubat was gone! He couldn't leave without any pokémon!
Growlithe's assault broke off one of the bars. If he used his fire attacks, the whole tree would burn up and more humans would come, alerted by the blazing tree. The human had run to the other side of the treehouse, finding the rusted door hard to open. No matter, Growlithe was in the mood for a hunt through the woods.
As it ready his next charge, Toji pulled out a pokéball. Not knowing what it was, Growlithe leapt into the barred window, smashing two more bars with only 3 more to go. Before Growlithe had time to even blink, Toji threw the pokéball! The ball came close enough to the window to release it's red light and sucked the growlithe inside.
"It worked!" Toji was excited. But as he watched in silent horror, the pokeball started to shake and was about to open up. Using the time he had left, Toji lifted the bolt and pulled the door open.With alot of strain, Toji heaved the bolt high enough so that it would drop onto the holdings as soon as the door shut and lock the pokémon inside.
Toji uncovered the aqua bike from some grass he piled over it and started his search for the rebellious zubat. Behind him as he wheeled away as fast as he could, the Growlithe broke out of the pokéball and was deciding whether it should follow him or not.... Toji didn't stick around to find out.....
~~~Saffron City~~~
Zubat had escaped, he was free! Of course, it would be fun to look and see how Toji did. In the middle of exploring the curious city, something glistened that attracted zubat's attention. It was a small pile of oran berries left out on a weathered sidewalk, just there for the taking!
"ZUBAT!" He let out his shrieks of victory as he plummeted into the pile, headfirst, gobbling up the scrumptious berries. "Return!" Was all he heard as the red light beam of his pokéball caught him.
Toji smirked. "Im sure glad NOW that I didn't feed him. Of course, he just slept all day so I couldn't but still..." Thinking back his mission, he decided it's better to catch a strong pokémon with spunk and spirit, instead of relying on Zubat. "Only 5 left, and if he decides to, I can get burnt up real fast."
Thinking back to his studies with the professors, he remembers a conversation that passer-by trainers had while at the lab.
~~~FLASHBACK~~~
"......and that's not all it does! Not only is it good in battle against someone else's pokemon, but when the wild pokémon are paralyzed, confused, frozen, asleep, of burnt, they become easier to catch since it is harder for them to break free."
~~~End of Flashback~~~ "Perfect! But before I go.." Toji released Zubat again and held out another handful of oran berries. "Look buddy, you may not like me, but for now, all I need from you is one supersonic attack, and it's a guarantee we will win, ok?" Zubat flew to his arm after pausing to think and seemed to nod his head.
~~~Gazebo~~~
Having reclaimed his territory, Growlithe rested, having given himself quite the headache from smashing his way inside. Also he hadn't eaten in days so it was weaker, otherwise it would have busted in first try. Minutes flew by, and Growlithe started to dream about evolving into Arcanine. Sleeping quietly, the sensation of "being caught by the pokéball" was, gladly, not enough to wake it up.
Toji, "Phew, pokémon don't seem to like me much." Probably because I've just now got personally acquainted, but I at least know that some of them are nice..... -remembers ratata....-
----------Mission 1: Complete---------- Note: I seriously doubt that anyone who chooses a zubat as a starter pokemon has much idea of how to battle. That's my question of the day: how would a person with 0 pokemon catch a pokémon? Considering that all of them are relatively dangerous, (Especially if their wild) I might have failed in the story/plot, lemme know if it was too dull for you guys. Also check out my character's profile to learn more of what i was talking about with the flashback stuff and thinking back stuff, but i admit, there was an even amount of good luck and bad luck involved in this. (Be honest and tell me if this was a boring read or w/e, this was my first mission and I want to know where I could improve)
Roxas Necros MISSION: Flame on!
Objective Catch any non-evolved, non-legendary fire-type
Rewards: 600 pokémon dollars Fail, I loved the mission, but you need to have a legitimate battle to catch a Pokemon except in a few special circumstances. Also You don't need to copy Captain Linda's style. Just add an actual battle, and I'll be thrilled to pass this.
Captain Linda
Mission: High Toxicity Levels
Objective: Catch a Tentacool, Gulpin, or Grimer
Rewards: 200 Pokémon Dollars---------Writer's Notes--------- I wanted to do a mission where I didn't have to beat the crap out of a Pokémon. I think I failed. XD Seeing how my past two missions had battles, I was testing to see if you could have other ways of capturing Pokémon. I admit, this mission may not be as exciting as my other ones, but I had fun typing it. :3 Like Brian said about Roxas' mission, you usually do need to battle the pokemon you want to catch. However.... This mission was a fun one to read. It has a good story, some action, some humor, and a twist at the end I didn't see coming. You write very well, and that's always a boon for a mission. If I have anything to critcize, it's that I had to go look up which nicknames went to which Pokemon. Please try to keep that in mind. Anyway, as the resident Mission Overlord, it is within my power to bend the rules. Since the overall quality of your mission was so good, I'll let you keep Grimer despite not actually battling it. (Just don't make a habit of it) Pass, keep Grimer, get 200 PD. And I think you're overdue for a Rank-up. Congratulations.
I think the only Pokémon whose actual name I didn't include in the story would be my Charmander; I usually mix their nicknames and their actual names into the story so that there would be less confusion, but it looks like I'll need to do a bit better at it. Thanks for the Rank-up! I dunno which rank that would be, though; Grunt, or Peon...? Hmm.
MISSION- Fossil Fraud
It seems there's someone in the Johto region selling fake pokemon fossils. From his description, it sounds like he's a Legendary Brilliance Gang peon. Track him down and put a stop to his scam. (You will face one LBG peon with 2 fossil pokemon)
Pokemon: None Rewards: 800 Item: One fossil of your choice ---------------------------------------------------------------- (sadly I don't know how to change the font on these posts even after so long hahah bear with that please)
" I just get back and they send me on a mission already, I bet the old team aqua wasn't worked this hard." I chuckled to himself as he sped along on the aqua bike. I had no idea where to look but it was somewhere in the Johto region. Great....as if this place is small. " However I digress, this mission seems like a fun one although the area is wide to search. At least it's back in my homeland I haven't explored since my youth. I didn't think the LBG was still around...this concerns me greatly...they were supposed to be wiped out when the old team aqua disbanded.... I wonder if they plan to cause chaos for us in the future..I better check things out thoroughly.." I peddled along with his trusty companion Zubat constantly sending out sound waves to detect the presence of any abnormalities. If anyone could do it, it would be his ZuZu. It was a beautiful day out, the sun was shining, not a dark cloud in the sky, a perfect day just to hang out and enjoy life. What could possibly go wron- my words were cut short as he was attacked off of his bike. " What in the world, what just happened....ZuZu you didn't do that did you..." ZuZu let out what seemed to be a chuckling screech but he had his reason for what he did. I didn't realize it but he was near the ruins of Alph and it seemed Zubat had found out where the culprit was hiding. About 150 feet away I could make out the outline of a nerdy looking fellow in front of a stand that had a big sign labeled fossils. " Really....it was this obvious,?? how did Team Aqua not find this guy sooner.....guess my mission has begun. Good job ZuZu I expect a battle but for now...Return!" A red light engulfs Zubat as he goes back into the secret world of Pokemon... A thought flashes through my mind. I wonder what it's like in there.. In his thoughts an image of a pimped out pokeball room appeared in his head. There was a coach and built in bar with a ton of juice and poke food for the Pokemon. Shaking that thought from his mind he continued to the stand. The nerd's glasses glinted in the sunlight as he began to speak. " Hello there foreigner you seem like an avid Pokemon trainer, wouldn't you love to have a fossil Pokemon to add to your collection. " As he spoke he pulled out 8 difference fossils, I gotta admit they all looked believable and he had quite the selection..I pointed to the one that looked like a helix fossil. " These are amazing sir!!! May I get that one there? How much for it ?" The nerd almost squealed with excitement, as he handed me the fossil. "That will be 1000 pokedollars, I know it's a little high but that's the price you have to pay for such a rare pokemon. How will you be paying cash or cre-" The nerds face twisted in horror as I slammed the fossil into the ground, it shattering into a million pieces. I turned to the nerd with a smile on my face, in my hand was my Team Aqua badge. The nerd gasped and was unsure of what to do...he reached into his pocket and pulled out two pokeballs. Tossing them into the air they exploded into a bright light revealing a cranidos and kabuto. " You Team Aqua scum, how dare you try to ruin my sweet operation here, I can't allow this to happen. Your just a grunt there is no way you stand a chance against me!!!!!!!!" The nerd's face was twisted in anger as he sent both his Pokemon to attack me. " Your not playing fair, guess I should have expected as much from a lowly nerd like yourself. Go ZuZu go Lieutant Sparks!!!!" Itaku reached into his pocket tossing both his pokeballs into the air, as they exploded his trusty Zubat and newly caught Chinchou appeared both ready to battle." " Cranidos and Kabuto forget about the pokemon get the trainer, Tackle And Scratch NOW!!!!!" Kabuto and Cranidos rushed towards me fast but not fast enough, as I rolled out of the way and quickly sprinted towards the stand. Within in a few seconds I was there and I tackled all my weight into the stand shattering it, and appearing next to the nerd. "You really are scum I never expected you to attack me, regardless I needed to destroy your stand in order to prevent further scams. Now let the battle begin." The nerd was stunned by the display of physical prowess I displayed as he scrambled to regain his composure. I had already launched my attack. " ZuZu use Leech Life on Kabuto now!!!! Lieutenant Sparks use spark on kabuto as well." Zubat rushed towards Kabuto his fangs glinting in the sun, only to be tackled out of the air by cranidos. This was unable to stop chinchou from connecting with a powerful spark that sent kabuto flying back, struggling to regain composure. " Good try kid, a double attack is impressive however I'd watch out if I was you, your chinchou is in trouble and so is your Zubat although Kabuto can't take another hit like that. I will have to end it now. Cranidos use bite on Zubat's wing DRAG HIM TO THE GROUND!!!! Kabuto use whirlpool to keep them in place. " The combination was fierce and caught me off guard, Zubat was dragged and slammed on the ground next to chichou, Kabuto's whirlpool trapped them both without much problem. The nerd snickered as he prepared the finishing blow, things were looking bad. " Cranidos finish them both with Magnitude!!!!" Magnitude 10. I panicked for a minute this attack was going to be devastating... " Zuzu Lieutenant Sparks!!! Gotta think quick or else....wait..I got it!!! Guys go with formation alpha beta!!!!" The magnitude erupted on the ground creating smoke and rubble all over the place. The nerd was confident he had won, he was about to return his Pokemon to their balls. When out of the rubble and in the sky was Zubat carrying Chinchou in his claws. The nerd was flabbergasted, unsure of what to do. " Time to end this!!!! Zubat fling chinchou towards the two. Chinchou use spark. Zubat finishing them off with a double Wing Attack!!!!" Zubat flung Chinchou at an incredible speed as Chinchou was flying his body was glowing with a bright yellow light, he landed inbetween Cranidos and Kabuto and exploded with electricity sending them both spiraling into the air. This was Zubat's time to strike, using his speed he raced towards the two connecting with his wings sending them spinning into the nerd who was knocked down by his own pokemon. I walked over Chinchou and Zubat on his left and right shoulder respectively. I smiled at the nerd for a moment, when my tone changed to a more serious one. "You know I should have you arrested and your Pokemon taking away from you but I won't. You seem like you have the potential to learn the error of your ways, plus you have some amazing battle combination I would hate to see those wasted. So go ahead leave this place and your gang, and never do another scam again. Or god help me I will find you and instead of Pokemon you will be fighting me...you saw what I did to your stand...." Itaku laughed and the nerd got up and bowed apologetically. It seems he never wanted to be LBG he was forced to because of his genius and brillance with scams. Itaku was sympathetic to a point, thus allowing him to leave. He sensed no ill will from this person and thus he felt fine letting him leave. " I'm so sorry for what I have done here I want you to have all the Pokedollars please return the money to everyone, also here I was holding this for someone special but you are worth it. It's a shield fossil a shieldon can be found in that. I hear you can take it to either Pewter City Museum or Cinnabar Island to get it brought back to life. Again I am sorry for all I have done, maybe we will meet again on better terms." With that me and the nerd whose name I later learned was Bob parted ways. I had all the money to return to the people and a new Pokemon...well fossil that would one day be a Pokemon . Seems this mission was a success. " Let's go ZuZu and Lieutenant Sparks back to base to share our spoils with the team." Itaku got on his Aqua bike and peddled into the sunset back to the base.
(this is my first mission attempt but be honest with me smile and if you have secrets of font and organization PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!)
itaku obichi MISSION- Fossil Fraud It seems there's someone in the Johto region selling fake pokemon fossils. From his description, it sounds like he's a Legendary Brilliance Gang peon. Track him down and put a stop to his scam. (You will face one LBG peon with 2 fossil pokemon) Pokemon: None Rewards: 800 Item: One fossil of your choice ---------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I must say, this is a a good mission for somebody just starting out. Most people would start with the easier "Catch a pokemon" missions, so I'll give you marks for that. Now on to the grade. It was actually written somewhat well, as there were some words that I just wouldn't think of while writing a mission. Like the word digress. However. There were several mistakes throughout the piece, such as "I peddled along with his trusty partner..." I think you can figure out that you need to choose between the first or third person view of writing it. I'm pretty sure you chose first person, and this happened only once. Also, you need to capitalize all move names and pokemon names. Again, this kind of thing only happened once. One moooore thing. It's your battle. I actually liked the battle, but try not to make it so one-sided. I can see a good combination of move choices, but you've gotta give the other guy a chance. Zubat would be fine because of its flying type, but Chinchou would've taken heavy damage, if not being KOed, from the Magnitude 10. Sure, there were a ton of mistakes, but all of these are easily fixable by going over the mission once it is complete. Because this was your first mission I'll overlook this. Be warned, as you go up in rank, the grader will be harder on you, so work at it! So, in the end, you pass. Keep the 800PD, and the fossil of your choice. Oddly enough, I didn't see anything about the type of fossil you picked. I'm sure you didn't need to put it, but it's always nice to put down. As for fonts, I have no idea. If your talking about the size of the font, you jsut put add text here. I think. If you're talking about font type, I'm at a loss for words. So, anyways, keep up the good work! This grade can be overturned by Teir-1
