echoing0comfort The guild is really quiet nowadays, so I've decided to make a new thread. Do your parents/friends approve of Dir en grey? My parents have forbidden me from watching their videos because of the 'gothic' imagery. My friends like them, though. But that's only because they love Kyo... stare All my friends hat it...My parents dont care.

My parents just know I listen to JRock...though neither of them really know any specific JRock bands/artists (except hide, X Japan, Gackt, and Malice Mizer). So when I listen to Dir en Grey, they're just like "Oh, Jen's listening to Japanese music again" and they don't really differentiate between the different artists. Neither of them really like JRock...though I've seen my dad tapping is foot along with the X Japan songs. ^^

My parents were fine with them until they found out they were really men.
Me: *studying picture of Myaku Toshiya* My dad: So, what are you looking at Me: This is who I'm going to coplay as for the con this fall My dad: That's a pretty outfit she's wearing Me: That's a man, and his name is Toshiya My dad: Dress as someone normal My mom: You really shouldn't listen to that Japanese stuff. I'm not letting you dress like 'Toshiba' for that dumb con. And besides, why would you want to dress like a gay man? Me: He's not gay. My mom: Honey, he's as queer as a three dollar bill Me: Well, it' a pretty kimono My dad: It' not that pretty. Why don't you be some one from *think of only anime he knows* Speed Racer?
My grandma is actually more accepting then they are. She thinks Marmalade Chiansaw is a cute song.
All my friends love Diru.

Eh, my parents see it as more 'Jap-crap.' I've had my mom listen to them a couple of times and she didn't like it. They do respect my opinions on J-rock though and dont mind me really listening to it. Dir en grey and Malice Mizer is all they've heard though, and only about Beast of Blood and Cage so.. they have no clue really what the others sing about or sound like. Atleast I have my friends to back me up. And my Gram doesn't mind listening to it in the car, coarse she wouldn't mind listening to rap or anything else that could be classified as music.

But it's maybe easier to say in french than in english ^^

I managed to get my friend's nine year old brother to like them. He scares his mother by shouting "FOOCHA!" at random times of the day. My mother laughed at the opening of Berry, and my closer friends are freaked out by Kyo...but fear not! I shall make them see the light. [Or darkness]

Thoguht i'd bring in, what do your teachers think.
I'm in the NJROTC program at my school and I was watching a PV in the class room one day durring lunch and my commander comes over and this was our conversation.
Commander: what are you listening to and watching on my computer? Me: I'm watching a Dir en Grey PV? Commander: A What? Me: PV or music video, and Dir en Grey, Japanese band? Commander: That Jap stuff huh? Do I need to re-teach you about WWII Me: What does WWII have to do with this Commander: stupid Japs **walks off**
He hasn't asked questions since...
Then my poor English Teacher, I think I had her so confused by the end of the year. She's very christian to...
Ms. Wyma - Oh those are preaty pictures on your binder Me - Thank you Ms. Wyma Ms. Wyma - Oh she's preaty **points to one** Me- Yes he is, yes he is Ms. Wyma - O_o **slowly walks away**
