tilting her head to the side she watched the servents, nodding once in agreement. i believe that is why i came, if i will be accepted then i will serve you. he was asking now, not demanding.. and it made all the difference with Marie.

"Good, then give me your right arm and I shall give you a mark of loyalty to me. It will not only allow you to teleport back here, it is a living thing as well. All around you are the souls of victims my followers have killed, the more souls the more power. This mark is a funnel if you will, the people you slaughter will add to the power aswell as yours. For that mark links you here, and to the souls."Cassus began to focus energy into his right hand as he waited for her to hold out her right arm.

blinking she did as he said, her expression thoughtful as she studied his shoes. so be it. she wasnt a fool.. the mark linked her here, she would never be able to leave.. not that she had anywhere else to go anyway, sadly. ill only use it if i must. she promised grimly, though her grave yard magic protested her words. with a ruthless snap she shoved the magic back into its place, keeping her eyes on the floor as she finaly asked. so if i die, my soul will be returned here as well?

Cassus grabbed her arm and it glowed for a moment and then the wolf mark appeared on her arm.
"You may come and go as you please, but yes your soul will return here in a sense. Of course you'll never be able to leave if you die, but by all means you'll still be 'alive.'"Cassus turned away and sat back in his throne, smirking.

annoyed at his behavior she raised an eyebrow, pushing a hand through her hair as she sent him a smirk of her own. this plan of yours can back fire, so best watch your smug expression. she could kill weak souls.. the ones that whimpered and whined for hours after death. he, along with herself and the others, would have to deal with their cries until they were faded.. but she would deal with it easily, she could play dirty if the occasion called for it. turning away she crossed her arms, studying the mark almost as if amused. i work for you.. that in no way means i like you, what is there to do around this place?

"Don't insult my intelligence, don't you realize I've prepared for every possible outcome. All souls feed this place, no matter what they were in life they become what I desire them to be in death. Currently there are only two people able to summon the souls, Xavier and myself. He will be here soon, if he's not out torturing some dolt with a smart mouth. Also, I find it very important that you know I could care less what you think of me, it isn't my job to care. It is the job of loyal men like Xavier to deal with traitors and the like. But should you hate me beyond all reason, steal the souls of one hundred men and that mark will disappear. For example, Xavier has renewed his mark 365 times and he's almost done with his 366th. I believe it was two more he owes me."Cassus stopped and after a moment he realized she was still there and looked her up and down for a moment before speaking.
"I don't care what you do, most occupy their time killing, but I've been told the slaves are rather nice, we have male and female with many different races. Other then that, anything you desire can be made real, the mirror is there for a reason."

Striding into the castle, Xavier was talking to one of the many chained shrinking heads on his left hip. "I did not give you permission to speak, Percy! Once more, and I will devour your rotten skull." He chuckled to himself at the thought. Strolling into the room with Cassus, Xavier smiled broadly. "You look healthy, my friend. Not so much powerful, but healthy. Maybe a few incisions could help your demeanor a bit? I would be more than obliged. Thinking to himself, he smiled, and let out another of his bone chilling cackles. "Oh, and I have given us five additional friends to play with. So.. I require a new one." He smiled broadly, holding his arm out for a renewal of his mark.

Leon and Aro appeared in the throne room and Leon disappeared. Cassus looked at Aro and made no motion for the others to leave.
"As Leon no doubt told you I am Cassus. You must be the priestess. How interesting, it isn't always that I'm correct in my predictions."Cassus snapped his fingers and several servants came in.
"Anything you desire these fine men can bring you, though I doubt you'll use them it is more a pleasantry then anything else."

her jet black eyes studied him, taking in every detail before she turned her attention to the others. satisfied they were offering no harm, she flicked a glance at the servents. " White Wine." shifting her stance she returned her attention to Cassus, her tone holding its normal dark tilt. " i serve the hour glass, yes. what is it your proposing to the Boltari alpha?"

The servant walked off and a second later appeared with a glass of white wine and handed her the glass before returning to his post. Cassus stood from his throne and began to walk towards the wall, then up it, and finally on the ceiling then back to the ground again. As he spoke he repeated this only now he had a book in his hand and was reading it as he spoke.
"Let us trim the fat shall we, I care not for the Boltari as you care not for my clan, only the mirror if anything at all. In fact, I am willing to believe you would sell out your clan if the hour glass wished it. So that is to say, what I am proposing to the Boltari is useless. You already know the answer to that question, join me or death, and with the amount of souls I already have, that would not be hard. But you see, in these scriptures it tells me I will not need the mirror once I have reached a certain number of souls. So in short, I don't want the hour glass getting in the hands of the Latverious family."Cassus reached the floor again and set down the book. He waved his hand and the mirror appeared, once again whispering the desires that had been poured into it.
"As you can no doubt feel, the mirror is slowly becoming a part of me, thus I will become a living artifact when the souls are mine which gives you a very interesting position in all this. First, know that I do not want wisdom or the artifacts, I want to purge the world of chaos, and to do that I will need the power of the mirror, but after I have it's power I will grant you what ever you desire. Whether that be uniting me with the hour glass to grant some person power to bring peace or doing something that you personally desire. Now, what do you think of this?"This reminded him, he still needed to renew Xavier's mark. Looking to his loyal soldier he grabbed Xavier's arm and then released it. The mark appeared once more and Cassus returned to his throne.

amusement flashed through her eyes, but she simply took the glass and sipped it.. considering what to say. she knew exactly what he was saying, because in short it was happening to her. oh, she could turn it off from time to time.. but she would always be bound to the hour glass. and though the others didnt know it.. the thing had a will of its own. taking another sip she smiled coldly, no real emotions escaping her. "no.. you read me all wrong Cassus.. i would never betray my clan. a wolf, i still am.. buti was never part of the Boltari.. i stayed because of the icon. my mother went to the boltari's the night i was born, mortaly wounded by hunters. the hour glass bonded its life force to my own so i would survive her passing."
seeming satisfied for the moment she moved to the mirror, a blue smoke rising as she stroked its frame almost lovingly. " i knew well enough i would come here, just as you should know my answer." she would turn to his side, simply because the hour glass demanded it. she was what it made her to be, cruel, dark, and cold.

Cassus smirked, the hour glass was becoming a living person out of it's own will, how interesting. But then again, it only made sense. The mirror lived through other people's desires, the hour glass lives through it's own desires, a balance of power. She must have known this but hadn't said anything.
"Then, for the sake of your family I should warn you that Sergei will attack after hearing of the alliance. He doesn't want the hour glass, he goal is different. His goal is pure which is why the mirror bound us together. He just doesn't understand that the world is corrupt and needs to be purged so a new one can be made. This is why he will attack, he believes that either you will join me and help in my quest for souls, or I will kill everyone and take the stong souls that inhabit that place. Those are two very likely situations, but what that means is that he'll come, kill everyone to deny me the souls, and then take the hour glass to prevent me from being any stronger. Also, if what Leon tells me is true, I think your leader might have a soft spot for that fool Viktor. When you return, do remind her of her duty to the clan. But of course this is insulting, I'm sure you already were going to."This was one of the moments when it became clear that Cassus was once a high ranking nobleman. He was not one of violence, he used words as weapons, making intricate strategies as he went.

Aro sighed at that. " yes, she is love struck. and yes, i have seen Sergei attacking the pack.. its a fifty nine percent chance." a hint of bitterness outlined her smile as she took a drink from the white wine. " if he attacks, he will kill her.. and in thus betraying his cousin's affections for hurting the female." it would be a family war.. and she wouldnt lift a hand to cause, or stop it. what she didnt add.. yet found highly amuseing, was that even if Sergei did a sweep.. he would never find the hour glass. she never left it so unprotected, nor unhappy.. it wanted its sister, Aro would walk through hell to give it that.

"Viktor would do nothing to stop Sergei, nor would he hate Sergei for doing what was necessary. Viktor is a vassal to the clan, if Gregor told him to kill his family because he suspected them of crimes against the clan, he would do it after investigating, if the slightest bit of evidence was found against them, I do not have any doubts that he would do exactly as Gregor told him to do. However, that is irrelevent, what you do not know is that Sergei can find it, if he knows what it is. If Viktor refuses to tell him about the hour glass then he will not look in the books he ownes or consult the glass. He used it two hundred years ago it seems and knows more then I would like him to know, including my plans. Now that they are intertwined with yours, I can only assume he knows more then either of us expect."Cassus seemed very displeased by this though it didn't change his tone or body language.

" so be it.. i will not be kept in that place any longer, i cannot." she looked back up, almost seeming blank.. a creature of ice. " i care not which family helps me, i must do as the hour glass says. there is no choice for me, nor was there ever." she paused, replaying that statment before tossing it away. it was the truth, if she had a choice she wouldnt feed Neko to the enemy... a fool the girl was, but still innocent and unaware of her youth. but she didnt, wasnt even allowed to hold guilt over what she had to do. oddly relaxed she sat on the floor, her legs folded in the lotas position as she finished off the wine. her plans belonged to the hour glass, but Cassus could help with them for now. " i have two days, before it happens.." she mused quietly, glancing up at the man boldly.. her tone pitched low. " i realize i dont seem like much, my people have died to myth.. our strength forgotten in this time. but help me in what i must do, and i will offer every skill i have to your service."
