Zinny, is it even better that I'm actually gonna make a character with that specific breed?

Name: Goblin
Rank: I
Personality: Aggressive
Gender: Male

~Appearance~

Height: 3’-5’
Physical Description: Small monsters with fur covering their entire body. They come in different colors and are even sophisticated enough to have clothing.
Background: One of the stomped on monsters of RPGdom. The goblin has always been looked down upon for being the starting fodder for even low level monsters and, even though this angers them, they haven’t really done much to stop the trend. Of course there are a few exceptions but overall, they are nothing but food for the budding adventurer. Due to this, they are allowed to exist just about everywhere they can survive without much fear of them causing much trouble.
Personality: Usually playful and mischievous but can get really angry at the most random things.

This is a first draft for some monsters. I'm going to make some wolves tonight also, maybe a Goblin chief. I wasn't sure what to do for skills. Also, am i doing damage right?
It says 1-6+ str mod +wpn damage. So that's what i've been doing, but i just wanted to check if that system was correct

Name: Wild Wolf
Rank: I
Personality: Docile usually. Sometimes like to bite your a** for no reason
Gender: Male

~Appearance~

Height: 2 '10 [off the ground, 6' foot from tip of nose to tail]
Physical Description: You say lone wolf wandering the ice cold tundra? I say grinding material. Wolves can be found out in the open of less technology worn places. Generally peaceful, yes, but also in large numbers. It wont really hurt anyone if you take out a few of them. Sometimes Goblins will keep these guys under their command, and use them as battle pets. Either way, be careful around the teeth, rabies are a b***h.
Personality: Survivor. Will kill anyone that gets in between it and its packs next meal. Usually follows orders pretty loyally when controlled.

Hmmm level may matter at a later point in the game when spells based on level come into play. But for now the levels are just stagnant in that their like 1 / 50 /100 or something like that. Probably'll have 4 ranks for each monster. each rank is a higher level monster overall you got a good model there zin.

I want to talk to the guys who are trying to get characters converted over from WOTN.

Now as I'm sure your aware, some things just won't translate period as we don't have a way for it or it won't make much sense in this guild.

Now, what I want to talk about are some of the ways I'm thinking of doing the conversions.

First off, I want to cut a bit of your power. Not alot, just like 25% or so from your stats and skills just to curve you down to what would be in this guild. Stat caps will be higher here than in WOTN so don't want you guys to already be to close and ruin half the fun.

Next conversion issue I'm having are custom jutsu. Because these are usually based on skills or traits not present in this game, I'm not sure it'd be fair to convert these over in any compasity. This goes for regular jutsu as well.

So here's the compromise. For any jutsu you want to convert we'll go by this:

2 E ranks = Rank 1 spells and abilities
1 D rank jutsu = Rank 1 spells and abilities
1 C and B rank jutsu = Rank 2 spells and abilities
2 B rank jutsu = Rank 3 spells and abilities
1 A rank jutsu = Rank 3 spells and abilities
2 A rank jutsu = Rank 4 spells and abilities
S rank jutsu = Rank 4 spells and abilities

The academy jutsu won't count for anything over here as you were forced to learn them in wotn and didn't really do anything except learn the system. Any other E rank jutsu you may know can be traded for a Rank 1 spell.

Weapons and tools I'm not sure how to convert them but I know any specialty or god legacy are just gone. They don't exist here. You could submit a request for an altered version of one of your specialty weapons and see if we can fit it in but god legacy just are a bit to much for the system right now soooo lets just wait.

Whatever level your character is currently on, you are just beginning at that level meaning any accrued exp you got from wotn is gone.

Now I know some of this may sound unfair but that's why I'm posting it here instead of just doing it. I want you guys opinions since these are your characters.

As you all probably already know, I hate really overpowered characters so if I think your posting stuff just to get a supped up character right off the bat, I will slim you down a bit but I don't believe you will so lets just talk this out.

What do you guys think?

the jutsu/magic exchange looks fine

as for the stat reduction i would suggest -25% of the bonus to stats. The bonus is what separates primarily WotN and crossroads, because we are considered to start at level 1 we have less stats to add.

example: a level 20 that started at level 1 would have 30+(19x3)=87
where as a level 20 that started at 5 would have 56+(14x3)=98
and a level 20 that started at 15 would have 88+(4x3)=100

So because we are considered to start at level 1 we actually have less stat points that that of scratch characters that start at higher levels. Since we are crossing over, right off the bat we completely lose the bonus to chakra, we lose some so were not real far ahead of the curve. While we have bonuses any that make higher chars if they make them level, they to would get bonuses, as well as originally they would have higher stats from the get go. This is why i suggest no more than a -25% bonus reduction to stats, because even if we continue the scratch chars that level will have higher stats.

Granted giglamesh is by far the highest conversion char correct? i took a big chunk out of all my stats, i lost -3 to every stat MOD, that was the lowest stat rest are higher. That is a considerable chunk i believe, but perhaps i am saying this from a biest perception because i am giglamesh.

I dunno. If I converted Shuiro, she might be able to give Giug a good fight. And if Roy was converted... well, let's just not think of that...

I'm digging the personality types for the monsters! I'll start making all the creatures apply to that chart now! The problem i'm haveing though is i can only run test templates with low level characters in my head. With high level characters i'll probably actually need skeletons profile things to test out higher level encounters on... For low level i've just been using mine and Shizuka's profiles haha. Oh and while i'm here i might as well:

roy and gig would be quite a bit closer than shuiro and gig fight
PostPosted: Mon Jan 18, 2010 12:58 pm

might be closer, but I still think she can hold up against him. She's only two levels behind Roy.

Yea, I started training her. She's a pretty good character. I might bring Roy over at one point but for now I don't think I will cause I want to create a level 1 character to do low level tests and I know if I brought Roy over, I'd be more incline to play with him.

Might bring Etna over though.

Those are good zinny. I'm gonna use your models and put them in the monster thread eventually.

And one of these days I'll remember to outline the leveling system. XD

remember i wanted to fight roy and her at same time, still do.

i will do my level 1 char with rin's and shizuka's other char, making a tank of a super bangaa.

Haha i liked starting at level five. Its the level you start at in alot of FF games anyways... And methinks that leveling up will be a b***h right until you get around level 3-4... Thats the main reason i made at five haha! Its my day off! That means hopefully i can work on monsters and stuff!

also one other thing, wotn was very very hard to level so how about a idea i had. use basically same system for getting exp as wotn, the certain amount of words per rank for 1 exp, but how about 25 exp per monster x level?

That way those that have horrendous rp posts (Roy, and I) cannot get incredibly far ahead of other, because those with smaller rps can also accumulate exp quickly. of course te xp would be / by amount of party members for each monster slain, but the high amount of party member makes them be able to take out more enemies, where the single high level would be able to handle one on one they would be able to take out mass numbers like a party could, and just level out the playing feild.
