I like the 5 members thing...it would be a good way to get new members and grow the guild. Maybe if we made it so that they have to have 45 posts plus the three weeks.

why 45?
I was thinking that if they want to be sorted early they should have to show that they're above and beyond...
as that's the whole point of sorting requirements...
and, sorry elffies, but I have little pitty for those people who are elves and just don't want to be so...
the ones who think being an elf is shameful...
I want to do this for those elves that I see that are above and beyond and don't get to be sorted because of a technicallity...
sweatdrop
Not for the whiners who think they should be able to walk into Hogwarts and do whatever they want...
in the magical world, you get accepted to Hogwarts when you are magical...
here...you get sorted when you show you're going to actually be an active member...
I don't want us to have empty commonrooms because some people don't like posting in the kitchens...

So why not 50?
sweatdrop
It's the original requirement plus 20 more posts...
I think that's fair...

50 posts sounds like a good number. I'm not sure about the 5 members thing though. I mean what if somebody just grabs 5 people who end up being only there to fulfill the 5 member requirement and they end up being extremely unactive?

...okay maybe that won't happen ALL the time. But you never know with certain people sweatdrop

50 posts seems like the only surefire way to show someone's active. ...that or they try to be helpful by providing ideas for discussion and stuff

Mhm. 50, just... perfect. 50 isn't a hard number to come to, there are quite a lot of games in the spinner's end to post in, if they can manage at least 10 posts each day, for five continuous days, it would quickly meet that requirement.

But about what you said,
this is just to be sorted early,
the old sorting requirements still stand...
they still have to have been in the guild for at least 3 weeks
before we will sort them...

And about inviting people...
I'm just trying to find a way to award members who's signatures brought people when they were house elves...
I mean...we can't exacly save them up...

How about this...
they have to lead to at least 5 competent people to apply...
meaning they have to have a decent application
but some people forget the Fread and George thing,
even if they have a great application...

And I don't want to get rid of the F'n'G requirement for applications...
because I like the idea of getting people into the habit of reading what we say...
I think it makes everyone's life alot easier...

Definitely don't get rid of that requirement! It weeds out the people who don't follow instructions! pirate

Course there are those people who read the whole thing and still manage to forget to do F n G. I almost became one of those people when I applied....almost ninja

Well...
If I really like an application I'll PM them and tell them if they tell me what thier application was missing, I'll invite them...
but even then, it weeds out alot of people...
because some people PM me back, while others don't...
so, I think it weeds out those people who wouldn't really appreciate what my friend calls out 'natzi' style of running the guild...

Are we really that bad?

Nazi eh? lol A little strict maybe, but in the long run it'll be better to weed out the unappreciative types. If you didn't, later on you would just have to ban them later since they're most likely to turn inactive for months and years to come. And thats no fun.

Nuu, nuu. Don't feel bad, KT. Though i'm sure THEY'RE feeling bad, and all, but i t helps make the guild spam-free, full of only active members. I mean, what's good about 100+ inactive members when you can have only around 50- really active members who actually help the guild?
