"A dress for Vanna," Lorelei said, pausing in her beading and holding the dress up for Lesh to see. It was pale, pale blue, nearly white, with dark purple and red beaded designs along the hem.
When she was confident Lesh had seen the dress, she went back to work. "And you?"
Vanna clung to Anezka almost automatically, reaching up to pat the girl's ears. "Vanna!" she chirped, wiggling her back feathers. "You pwetty!"

"Just mending a skirt, then I'm going to hem another one so Anezka can wear it...nothing nearly as involved as what you're doing..." Leshya'e nodded, smiling at the lovely dress, "You're very talented."
Anezka blushed and laughed, "Oh...thanks...that's real nice...Vanna." She helped Vanna forward and up onto her lap, "I like your hair, Vanna...and your wings..."

"Languages, sewing, and harp playing - the three things I was allowed to do. I've gotten fairly good at all three." She laughed a little. "But with the beads, I'm more experimenting. I can embroider just fine - I added the vines and flowers to Annjette's cape that she always wears - but beading is new territory."
Vanna snuggled the girl. "Wings! You wings pwetty!" Giggling. "Can fly?"

"That's a very impressive repertiore in and of itself, " Leshya'e said with an impressed smile on her face, "I'm sure you will do a lovely job on the dress...It's already coming out so well. The only thing you'll have to do is hope that your daughter won't up and grow over night, or with little warning." Leshya'e glanced at Anezka and then chuckled, thinking about how much of a shock she was in when her daughter last grew.
The Bunny girl was growing quite attached to the cute purple child, lightly touching her wings. "My wings, you think mine are pretty too? Oh Thank you!" With a slight frown and a shake of her head, Anezka replied, "No...No can fly...But I will some day. Some day."

"But I couldn't do much when I first came here. And my cooking is still very hit and miss... I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of practical skills. Not the best thing to be lacking when you're a traveler, hm?" She laughed, passing the needle through the fabric.
"But no, Vanna grew so recently that I'm guessing I have time. And I can always salvage the fabric of the dress and work it into something else later, like a shirt or a sash."
Vanna beamed up at Anezka, fluttering her back feathers reflexively. "Yay!" She didn't seem to mind that her own 'wings' were obviously incapable of flight - they were just tufts of feathers growing from her back, with no substance behind them.

"I bet that embroidery would make a beautiful belt or sash once she grew out of the dress...and the fabric would make a nice head wrap."
Lesh nodded and piled up her finished pieces of clothing, having completed what needed to be mended and now just needing to hem a skirt. "I may not be a fabulous cook like one in a bistro or what not...But I'd be glad to give you some help. Maybe some lessons and teach you some simple recipes. If you'd like."
Anezka couldn't help but laugh and smile at Vanna, hugging her. "You're fun...Sister Vanna." She winked at the girl and then gripped her waist as she bounced her up and down on her knees.

"I think you're right." She added another bead, looking at the fabric in thought. Yes, a sash... or a head wrap. Definitely.
"Recipes would be nice. I think Vanna may be getting tired of my stews and soups."
Vanna hugged back, giggling. Then she looked thoughtful. Sister? Sister. Sort of like Cousin, right? Like Anjie? Yes!
"Sissy?" she crooned, laughing as she was bounced gently.

Leshya'e smiled, then gestured to Varekai, "Well, my wagon is that one over there...Whenever you need help or instruction, come find me or knock on the door...I'm more then willing to help. In fact, would you and Vanna like you eat with Anezka and I? I'll be baking up some bread and mixing a big salad."
"Yeah, Sissy...You're my Fortunette Sister...Yes, You Are..." Anezka Grinned from ear to bunny ear as she tickled and bounced her new purple friend.
[and i'm off to have some food of my own]

"That would be lovely, but I wouldn't want to impose on the two of you. Are you sure you have enough to feed the both of us, as well? It's been a while since we've been able to gather supplies, what with wandering in this forest..."
Vanna giggled and squealed all the more, kicking her legs playfully and trying to tickled Anezka right back, using her feathers.

"You wouldn't be imposing at all, You would be our guests...And there would be plenty to go around, I'm sure of it. One thing I'm sure to keep a large stock of its flour, so we'll have plenty of bread. And Anezka doesn't eat large meals." Leshay'e finished up a few more stitches, then began to pack her needles away. Folding up her mended and hemmed clothing, she stood up, "I'll be right back."

"Well, if you're sure, we would love to be your guests!" Lorelei said, smiling and finishing up her line of beading. Watching Lesh rise, she nodded. "All right - we promise to be right here when you get back."

Once having put away her busy work, Lesh began to gather the things she would need for the meal. Pulling a large bowl from a cupboard, she filled it with the ingridients for the salad. Wrapping her arm around the rim of it, she balanced it on her hip as she picked up the bowl of rising bread dough, carrying it in the same fashion. Leaving Varekai, she smiled to Lorelei, "Is Vanna a fickle eater?" She made it back to the circle and placed down the two bowls, then showed Lorelei what she had planned for the salad: green beans, small potatos, some leafy greans and a few variety of dried berries. Along with this would go a light dressing and the bread.

"Not at all," Lorelei responded, looking over at Vanna, who was still giggling happily with Anezka. The girl looked up, looked around, and blinked.
"Miss Leshya'e wants to know what you eat."
"Oooo." The girl put a finger to her lips, thinking. "Aaaaah... food! Bewwies, bread. Stoooo. Food!"
"She's an easy child, I suppose," Lorelei laughed, fiddling with her braid. "Could you use any help cooking?"

Leshya'e chuckled brightly at the purple child's response to it's mother's question.
Turning to Lorelei, she smiled and nodded, "Oh, yes please, Can you Mix the salad up as I start a fire and get the bread baking? You know, probably break the green beans in half and then just toss all the rest by hand in the bowl. You might want to tear the other greens as well...You can just mix it as you see fit." She held kneeled down by where the dead fire had once been, patting her pocket for a flint.

After setting aside her work gently, Lorelei took up the bowl and set to work, cracking green beans and tearing the larger leaves and vegetables into pieces small enough for Vanna to eat without problem. The work was calming, just like the beading had been, and it gave her hands something to do.
"So," Lorelei said after a moment, looking at her companion. "What brought you to the caravan?"
