Shinji blushed deeply again, swallowing hard once more as he shifted uncomfortably, terribly embarrassed by the obvious amusement his friend was taking in this. Yeah yeah...he muttered, itching the back of his neck before shifting to pull a small wad of cash from his pocket, offering it to Aiji to help with the tab.

Mmm, that should cover it, Aiji mumbled, taking a few more bills out of Shinji's hand, setting it all on the table, not putting forth any of h/er own money. S/he got up and made h/er way towards the exit, not bothering to wait for Shinji.

Shinji shifted and followed after Aiji quickly, a smirk of slight amusement on his lips. Sure Aiji, keep the change! he laughed, shaking his head to himself some. Maybe next time you'll actually eat, huh?

Maybe I will, Aiji said, not turning to look towards Shinji. S/he stepped outside and wrapped h/er arms around h/erself. Later, then, s/he said, disappearing.

Tatsumi lead Chiyoko into the restaurant, promptly being seated by a waitor, who gave menus and glasses of water. Tatsumi looked in his menu, wincing slightly as his stomach growled. He looked to Chiyoko and smiled faintly, which was a good sign from him. Is it warmer in here? Would you like to wear my scarf? he offered, never having done this before.

Chiyoko looked at Tatsumi and blushed deeply, stuttering. Uh, w-well... D-do you r-really mean it? She picked up her menu and opened it, looking for something that sounded good to her. She raised it to cover her face from him, as she didn't want him to see her blush. I w-would love to w-wear your scarf, T-t-tatsumi, she choked out.

Tatsumi laughed softly, removing it and handing it to her, still warm from being around his neck. He revealed a soft smile to her, and she could see that he wore a silver chain around his neck. Of course I mean it, he said before looking to his menu, pulling his hands up over his chest, feeling a bit bare.

She smiled brightly, wrapping the scarf around herself. Now, you're sure it's okay I wear this? she asked, a pink tint still apparent on her cheeks. How do I look? Chiyoko looked over what she could see of Tatsumi, smiling. What is that chain around your neck? Did your...boyfriend give you that? She turned her attention back to the menu, still listening though.

I'm sure it's okay, Tatsumi said, peering over to her. And you look very cute, he continued. He looked down to the chain around his neck, his gloved hand gently fingering the pendant. No, my boyfriend didn't give this to me, he said, his voice getting softer.

I'm sorry, Chiyoko began, setting the menu down in front of her. I was probably a little insensitive asking that, huh? She looked at Tatsumi and smiled warmly. Who gave it to you then, if you don't mind me asking? She leaned forward to examine it more closely.

Upon closer examination, Chiyoko could see that it was a heart wrapped in thorns. Tatsumi smiled to Chiyoko. No, it wasn't insensitive.. my father gave this to me, he said, his voice trailing off as he thought about his father.

She smiled, nodding. I see. Where is your father? she asked, trailing off, unsure if the topic was a bad one to mention. Chiyoko looked down at the table, adverting her eyes to look at Tatsumi. So...what are you going to get to eat?

My father is back at home, Tatsumi said, looking back down to his menu. He lives in another place, he added. I...don't know what I'm going to eat, he said laughing softly. I think I'm probably going to get this bento box.

I see, maybe I will get the same? she chuckled softly. Chiyoko looked to Tatsumi, smiling warmly. I'm sorry to keep saying this, but... she blushed. You're so beautiful. You make me feel like a giggly and shy little schoolgirl. I haven't been like this before... she glanced around the restaurant. And, I hate to take the risk of sounding like a really bad American song, but... she giggled some. I think I love you.
