Enrion was beginning to get angry. If he thought he could stand without making a fool of himself, he would have done so. He felt rather silly discussing this while sitting down trying to manage to keep his last meal from making another encore appearance.
"When you've accomplished your purpose here, they intend to return you to your own worlds--to the exact moment you left. So you needn't worry about events there. But we need you here. The Balance must be served. We have no idea what force is behind this invasion but its active in several worlds besides this one. Evil creatures are spreading their darkness everywhere. People are suffering. Societies are collapsing.
You are the lights chosen to combat this problem. Your very presence has helped--now if you just seek out the force behind everything and put a stop to it, you can go home."

Cheea started laughing. It was a high, cackling laughter, unpleasant and sinister. She double over, clutching her stomach, half-hysterical.
"Oh, mercy, mercy!" she laughed. "Oh, that is the single most amusing thing I have heard in awhile. A force for good? GOOD?" she giggled again, looking up, the laughter not meeting her eye. "Oh yes, I am good. So very, good. You're masters didn't really think this throuh, did they? They didn't really check to see who they were dragging into this fae-forsaken place, did they?" Cheeva's voice grw very calm. "Say, good sir messenger, would you like to see your skeleton?"

Inutai stayed quiet as there were too many things going on at once for him to follow. He nearly gave up trying to understand things, when the guy who had been groaning and rolling around in pain earlier had finally stopped that and started talking. Although he couldn't understand most of what he was saying, he did hear the words 'evil creatures', 'stop', and 'go home' uttered in practically the same sentence. Inutai's expression brightened at this. That was enough for him to piece together what they needed to do here. "Then, all we do is kill these evil things and we can go home?" Inutai asked hopefully. He didn't much condone to violence, but if these creatures were evil as that man had said, then he could live with killing a few. Especially if it meant he and Toshi could go back. . . home. Did they even have a home to go back to? Inutai quickly shook his head. That didn't matter right now. What mattered most was that they'd be away from this awful place.

"Seriously? We've got to fight things? Just to let you know, I'm pretty much only good for getting myself out of trouble." Basti didn't mention that he would also try to get the others out because he wanted to seem a bit more upset at being used. Of course, they all were being used, which is why he would help all of them if necessary. Even the scary woman with the knife.

"Your Powers chose the wrong people," Gypsum finally spoke up from his seat across the fire. He'd been in an awed silence by the sheer stupidity of the situation, and was beginning to get more and more frustrated. He grabbed the bag off the ground and it buzzed angrily at the sudden movement, casting wild and ominous shadows as it shook.
"Yes, serial mass murderer at your service, I'm sure," Gyp blurted out angrily, and was surprised to find he was glad he had; might as well leave the others a warning. Yes, he had been trying to reform Sin, but it wasn't exactly to much success yet. The only two good things about it was that she didn't want to kill him in particular because of her other half (Nimue) and that they'd mostly been isolated from most civilization for the past few years (which, he'd been realizing, made him relax far too much). Obviously not anymore, and her increasingly eccentric behavior had been freaking him out ever since they'd met up with the group.

Enrion had to admit that this group didn't exactly look like hero material. It was a little worrisome but as an acyolate to the Twelve , he had the utmost faith in their judgment.
"Your failure to see the logic in their choices doesn't mean they chose the wrong people. The Balance is both delicate and complex. You were each chosen because of your skills, whatever they may be." He looked at Cheeva and shuddered slightly. "You can kill me if you like," he told her. "But that only means you'll be trapped here without a guide. You don't seem to like your companions much but if you prefer to be forced to endure their company in this strange place for the rest of your life, I suppose that's up to you.
"I think I'm going to have to vote no on that one," Angela said. "Though I don't find all present company unbearable. Still, getting home would be preferable."
Des contemplated silently for a moment. "I'm in," he said at last with a half hearted shrug.
"You would be," Angela muttered.
"I'm more curious as to why you're so reluctant to help," he told her. "Even as only a half celestial, you must feel--"
"I have absolutely no desire to be some sort of annoying guardian of the multiverse, much less someone's pawn," Angela said. "If that's what you or the Grey Twelve are looking for, you probably want to go and find my father."
"You are so negative," Des said, shaking his head. "Honestly. Everyone here is just way too uptight."

"I'm going to go with this for now... but by no means will I let myself be manipulated by glowing parrots." Zen crossed his arms and glared. He wasn't trying to put on a show, but refused to choose a side in someone else's war unless he got a good look at it first. Too many times had something like this happened where true agendas were well hidden from him. For all he knew, the grey twelve wanted their help to cause a genocide rather than stop their world from being destroyed.
"Never ever trust a Power, unless you're family." He smirked over to Angela and Des, making a point in their arguing, and a subtles reference to the similarity between himself and the other red head.
"So, where do we start in this venture to save your world? It's important I get back to my movie."

Inutai's ears twitched slightly. He'd heard nearly everyone's questions get answered except for his, making him feel rather left out. He wanted to ask again, but it seemed everyone else had more important questions waiting to be answered. Besides, if the man had said (or so he thought he heard) that if they kill those evil things, they could go home, then that meant it was true. Or rather, he hoped it was true. So, he merely stayed quiet and awaited Zen's question to be answered. Although he didn't much like or trust him now, he did have a good question, one that he was curious to knowing the answer to as well.

Cheeva smiled at Inutai. "Kid, that's basically what he's saying. He wants us to risk our necks to save a world and a people who have nothing to do with us, at all."
She sat down across from Enrion, legs and arms crossed, a typical Kwuita trader. She did, however, make sure she sat well away from Des."Let me get this straight. Your "Grey Twelve" want us to clear up a mess for them. They haven't told us what, exactly, we are up against. So what do we get out of it? What is our payment?" Cheeva tapped the ground with a finger. "I charge five to one hundred, thousand bead, ropes for an assassnation - depending o nthe difficulty and the finesse involved. Now, if you want a sword-for-hire, my price is ten ropes per skirmish," she smiled. "Lord Whenner knew how to pay well. When he invaded the lands of Garsten of Kryll, he paid me one hundred ropes for an assassination and another hundred to work in his army. Those were good days..." Cheeva drifted off in the memory for a moment. She blinked and tapped the ground again. "My point is, you want us to risk our lives for nothing. What do we care about the balance of this world? Perhaps this is the natural progression for it. And what happens if one of us dies? Do you dump our corpses back in our words? One minute I'm perched on the wall, the next I'm carrion? I don't think so. By bringing us here, and risking the chance we all die, aren't you unbalancing our worlds - toward light or darkness? Aren't you causing the same issues elsewhere? It seems your "Grey Twelve" are not the brightest bunch of little meddlers in the world. "As to a guide," she cocked her head to one side. "We can make ourselves a little deal, you and I. You will guide us, O-Enrion-Messenger-of-the-Grey-Twelve and ensure we are all paid our dues. Paid, in currency, not in "moral fibre" or "good deeds". In return, I'll not only refrain from torturing the neccessary information from you, which I would relish at this moment, but I will give you a little something that will stop your stomach attempting to devour itself." She reached into a pocket and tugged out a pipe, chewing on the end. "I-we await your decision."

Zen smiled strongly, he was begining to like the cat.
Dear cheeva, you have to remember that your point requires an assumption that most Powers have the ability to think logically. There are two problems with that. First of all, that'd require Powers to actually... you know... CARE about morality or something other than themselves. And secondly, that'd only work if, the Powers wanted to stop a mass murder of people as opposed to preserve their servants to further increase the size of their testicles in their ego battles with each other.
So I'd say my conclusion would be, lets save their glowy grey asses, so that WE can be the ones to kick THEIR asses." A big devious smirk lit his face, as he ranted in a mockingly soothing tone.
"Anyone game for that? Saving people is a nice bonus of course while we make their immortal lives hell."

"I'm one board for that," Angela said with a devious grin. "I am about sick of Powers and their servants and their servant's servants interfering in my life. I'm fine with saving people from evil and all that but I am not going to be anyone's pawn. Not ever again."
Des smirked slightly. There were Powers he respected and plenty that he didn't. He was reserving judgment on these but he wondered vaguely if, while being so concerned about the balance of good and evil, they'd forgotten the balance between chaos and order. He had the feeling this group was going to be upsetting that balance just a bit.
Yeah. He was definitely starting to like these people.
Enrion sighed, his eye twitching slightly. He'd been so happy that the Twelve took notice of him to send him on this mission. But now he was rather wishing he'd declined to deal with a group of such hard headed idiots.
He looked at Cheeva, deciding to ignore Angela and Zen for the time being. "My masters can reshape time and space, punch holes in the barriers between worlds and bring individuals through them. I hardly think it would be difficult for them to create a bit of shine for you to take home with you to satiate your greed," he told her. "Never the less, I'm not really authorized to----"
Enrion stopped speaking and for a long moment, his face just froze with his mouth slightly hanging open. His eyes flashed with a gold light and then rolled back in his head and he flopped over backwards, unconscious.

Basti no longer trusted the morals of the group he'd landed in. Yes, it was wrong to just use random people as pawns, but to screw with them? Didn't that make Angela and...Zen? just as bad? Basti simply sighed and shook his head at the selfishness displayed around him. Although, he WAS a merchant's son, so greed shouldn't surprise him anymo--What on earth was that? Basti stood frozen for half a second as Enrion toppled, unsure of what to do. He then made his way to the unconscious man's side to check his vitals, no matter how disturbing his method off passing out had been.

((Just to point out, Toshi hasn't said a word except introduce himself, yet Basti still doesn't trust him. xd I can see why he wouldn't trust anyone else, though. XP Especially Chee. XD))
When Cheeva started prodding the man for payment, Toshi couldn't help but think she was out of place. Then again, this coming from a slave boy wasn't saying much. He'd had it beaten into him to always do as asked without hesitation, and without expecting to get paid. If he didn't, well, he'd be punished for it. Toshi figured it was the same case here, since it did seem these "Gray Twelve", as they were called, had powers enough to drag them here. Who knows what else they were capable of doing.
Inutai couldn't help but wince as the messenger fainted, even if the glowing eyes before seemed odd. Seeing that Basti had rushed over to him, Inutai decided to as well (of course, dragging Toshi along). He was still shaken from earlier events. So much has happened in the past five or so minutes, that all these odd things were no long terrifying him. He was only mildly scared now, though that feeling probably wasn't going away for awhile. "Is he okay?" he asked the much taller man, half curiously, half worriedly.

"Er... Let me explain something really quick." Gyp pressed a palm against his slowly overheating forehead as he once again held up the bag, eyes shut in frustration.
"This is Sin, mass murderer extraordinaire... usually occupies a corporeal body during the day and does not listen to anyone." He did not add that she sometimes would be influenced by him and instead pointed at the contented Fluff sitting on Des.
"That is Nimue, slightly more sane but unable to do anything other than catch fire when she has a body during the night. Slight problem? I mean, I don't mind fighting, and I don't think Nim would (not that asking her now would do anything)... but hard to convince bloodthirsty women are not fun to deal with." He didn't bother to mention that he'd much rather stay here, as would, he was sure, both of the mentalities of his charge. It was a complicated proposal as it was.

((I feel it necessary to point out. Angela is not asking for money. She is agreeing with Zen who is suggesting they do what the Twelve ask and then find them and harass them as revenge. Sorry if my post wasn't clear but she is NOT asking for payment. She is just angry about being used as a pawn.
Also, there's no reason to assume the sink hole Inu fell in was a punishment. It was a random sinkhole that I used to keep him with the group, not necessarily punishment and if it was, there would be no way for them to know that.))
