MagicalSins Us drummers are the heart and soul of the band. And if you don't want to admit it, the next time you are playing with the band, think about how much you actually rely on us to keep you in rhythm. lol Most of the time, our DL is off somewhere else practicing. If anyone keeps time, it's the drum majors.

Actually, things change a bit in college - there's always this undercurrent of tension within the sections, because everyone there is someone who used to be "really good" and wants to save face.
It still baffles me, though, why some people get jealous of people who can play better than them, and NEVER PRACTICE because of it. >_>
I'll just do the instruments I know personally (the people who play them, that is):
Flutes: No matter how shy or outgoing we appear to be, flutes are always a little strange - and very cliquish. BIG EGOS HERE, because flute is easy to play, up to a point - after that, it takes a lot of time and hard work to improve.
Oboes: Just as strange as the flutes - only they keep to themselves and are generally quieter.
Trumpets: Outgoing, with egos as big as the flutes. They like to have the spotlight.
Trombones: Bi-ZARRE. Crazy. But fun as hell. smile
Saxophones: A little more conventional than trombones, and a little more mellow than the flutes and trumpets.

I play Bassoon and most of the time people assume I'm weird and annoying, which sucks because I'm really not. rolleyes
And trumpet players in our band are the ones with the HUGE egos.
