Psychedelic...
Mephlius' stared off into space, as his mind wandered. Maybe Kuro is right- and at my core, I'm just like the others... I mean, I'm here on a date, but I am trying to kill people. His claws grew out into... claws. Mephlius stared at his hand with a 'eureka' look. "Am... AM... I think I know what it is." He showed his complete clawed hand, but smiled anyway. "Let's just say... I think what Kuro said got to me a little much..."

Amnity looked over at him, then looked at his claws. ".....Mephlius you know that what Kuro said isn't true..." She walked over to him, a concerned look on her face. She wasn't shocked about the claw...She was shocked that he was actually smiling about it.

"Yeah, I know. But for some God-forsaken reason, I keep trying to convince myself that it is. And every time I try..." He curled his fingers, and extended them again. "My body reacts, and agrees." He then saw Amnity's face. "So now that I know what's wrong, fixing it is the easy part."

Amnity sat down next to him and placed a gently hand on his claws. "....Remember the conversation we had a long time ago?....We had just met and....And you didn't like what you saw in your reflection in the water? Remember what I said to you about that?"

Mephlius closed his eyes, and thought.

Mephlius smiled at the thought. He imagined himself, looking into his reflection. As he stared, his claws slowly shrunk down. His teeth blunted. The closed-mouth smile remained plastered on his face.

Amnity waited patiently as Mephlius took the time to think. His claws shrunk down as she held his hand, which meant that he was probably getting better. Gently, she placed a hand on his shoulder and gave him a light shake. "Mephlius?..."

Mephlius opened his eyes, and turned to her. "Yeah, what is it?" He looked at his hand, no longer a claw, and smiled. "Oh, that's what."

Amnity smiled, then let go of his hand. "Good, I'm glad. Wow, after all that research we could have solved that problem in a minute." She let out a light laugh, but the laugh slowly died as she remembered a certain thing she read about during her research. It's possible to have a pup in the case of a male lycan and a human pairing. But in the expense of the mother's life. The words seemed to echo from the pages of the book and into her mind. Her stomaches churned as a wave of uneasiness washed over her.

Amnity forced a smile and shrugged. "It was just something I read in that encyclopedia." Yeah, stick with that. She wasn't lying, it was the true....She just hoped that he wouldn't ask what it was about.

Mephlius frowned a bit. "Second half of the sentence- 'No hiding it'. What did you..." He looked up at the ceiling, and looked back to her. "Ooh... I know what it was." He allowed enough of a pause for her to get nervous. "It was something about being bitten, and turned into a Lycan, wasn't it?"
