Task 5:

When you walk the halls of school, you usually see every one's face. Well in the case of David, you can't. Not only is he short for his age, he also roams the halls with this face to the ground, only looking up to see where he's going and to avoid the people making out. He usually slouches when he walks, mostly because of his shyness. The less eye contact he makes, the less people will notice you, that's his motto.

His eyes are the deepest of browns, and his hair follows suit. There's nothing too extravagant about little ol' David. Aside from his short stature. He's of normal weight, he's just 5' 3". He can't help it, it's his mother's fault. Most girls would call him a "cutie" or "adorable", which really isn't what David wants to be known as, but he really can't control that. He can tan very well, but he's usually inside most of the time, so his skin is usually kind of pale.

David usually puts on his body what ever he sees first in his closet. T-Shirts of bands that no one has ever heard of, or some preppy store shirts that his mother gave him. He's not really all that picky, literally, he puts on the first thing he sees. But as a result he usually tries to match the best a 14 year old boy can. He still wants to be presentable. He also spritzes himself with a little cologne every now and there just to stay good smelling.

Dr. Acula on the other hand is tall, lean, and stands straight up, unless he's crouching to leap at you. His skin is white as a cloud and so is his hair. His eyes are a mixture of red and yellow, only proving that he's no human. He has pointy ears and a long nose along with long features, as in his face, body, legs, arms, and fingers. His teeth are sharp like a sharks. He also talks with a Louisianan accent.

Task 6: U/C

Name: David Marshall or Dr. Acula

AKA: Davy, Marshall, Dave.

Current Age: 14 and 1000

Appearance: When you walk the halls of school, you usually see every one's face. Well in the case of David, you can't. Not only is he short for his age, he also roams the halls with this face to the ground, only looking up to see where he's going and to avoid the people making out. He usually slouches when he walks, mostly because of his shyness. The less User Imageeye contact he makes, the less people will notice you, that's his motto.

He also spritzesUser Image himself with a little cologne every now and there just to stay good smelling.

Costume: Dr. Acula usually robes himself in a doctors coat, heavy boots, driving gloves, and a parabolic reflector.

Primary Power: David doesn't have any super powers, but Dr. Acula controls blood; moves it, put it pull it, absorbs it, convert it, make more of it, and make less of it.

Secondary Power(s): Acula's secondary power would be his ability to turn into a bat.

Weakness: David has an allergy to bees.Dr. Acula has average vampire weaknesses. Garlic, and sunlight. He can not stand the sight of a crusifix, he's can't cross running water, he can't enter a place uninvited and if there is a pile of seeds or rice, he will become infatuated with counting them.

Personality: David is very much like the cliche freshman, unaware, unsure, and unknown. He hasn't grasped the concept that certain things should be done when something happenes. Like when a girl is behind you at a doorway, you hold the door open for them. Or like how sunshine isn't a name you want to be called.

He, like very few, enjoy school. He like to learn and he likes doing homework. But like most teenage boys, he likes videogames. He likes the compelling storylines that they tell. Although he seems well kempt, his room is a diaster. It's questioned that there is even a floor, rather than a mound of clothes with walls at the top.

David is a hard person to relate to, because he's very quite and well reserved. He doesn't like to talk much unless it's to answer a question. He has a wide variety of interests, so he's not boring, he's just not a talker. The fact that he is reliable is the best part of his personality. Because he never talks to anyone, he never really shows emotion, there for people don't expect him to be hiding anything. So once people tell him a secret, he could very well just be putting it in a bank, underwater, with all the lights off.

Dr. Acula is almost the opposite of David. He is very mean and he does things just because they're mean. Beating people up, and over all fighting are his pasttimes. Acula is also very snide and sarcastic, really anything to piss people off.

Biography: David was the youngest of three. He had an older sister, Erin, that was six years older, and an older brother, Jacob that was four years older. His older brother would always bully him, and his older sister would always baby him. Doing things like dressing him up, putting make-up on him, having him dance to boy bands, things like that. Their mother was a nurse for an always busy hospital, and his father was incognito. So that being the case, the three spent a lot of time with their neighbors or their friends.

He had one best friend that he spent almost everyday with. His name was Brian and he was the same age. As the grew up, they became similar. They had the same interests, most of their favorite things were alike, and they always had a crush on the same girls. On the last day of their seventh grade year, Brian had to move. Crushed, David never made friends with anyone else, nor did he ever really talk to anyone else. One day the phone rang, and it was Brian's dad. David was excited, for a moment or two. But then his face went white with horror. Brian was attacked by what they believe to be a bear. They didn't think he was going to make it.

Seeing this train wreck of a kid, his mother got him a dog. A Weimaraner, he named it "nothing", because it meant nothing to him. He didn't want a dog, he wanted his best friend back. But as 8th grade came, David and Nothing were inseparable.

Goals/Motives: (What things are important to your character? What do they hope to accomplish?)

Vices: (Does your character have any distinctive bad habits that might set them apart?)

Other: (Anything else you want to say about your character?)

Task 1:

I have an idea for a very snobbish, older, female character. She can best be described as a martinet with no understanding of individual human needs. She's soared through the rankings in her field due to this strict adherance to the rules. She also happens to be quite good at using her positions to her advantage.

She works underneath Chief Detective Ames Oual, and she is suspicious of everything.

Name: Lac Rosin

AKA: Glide

Current Age: 23

Appearance: Tall, lithe, no hips, Lac's light brown hair, about 3 inches long goes from being a sticky mess to a feathery bloom, depending on his power. Mostly it's the tall lithe thing that freaks people out, as he can bring himself to tower at 6'5", but weighs a pittance in comparison. His eyes are an unremarkable color somewhere between blue and bland.

Costume: Lac wears a jumpsuit made out of a special material developed for his ability the friction of which he can also control. It had to be a jumpsuit as preliminary trials showed that not even the tightest belt could hold up frictionless pants. It's day-glo orange, due to the unreasonable chemical properties of this material. This color can't be changed as no color-changing substance can be applied to the stuff.

Primary Power: Lac can affect his own friction. He can glide, or hold a tenuous grip, he can move without wind resistance, or increase the resistance to stop, or even to float. Not completely levitate, mind, more of a slowed fall.

Secondary Power(s): Lac also has control over a special material, of which he has a small stash, which was developed for his power by famous government parascientist Dr. Jones.

Weakness: It takes an incredible amount of concentration to control such a thing as ones own friction. Imagine that you had to think about every breath you took. You'd forget sometimes, wouldn't you? Yeah, you'd forget.

Personality: Lac lives his life according to the rules of the "Me-First" school of thought (first developed by James Howard Me-First, in 1832). He doesn't care much for rules, or the thoughts of other people. It's not he has one of those annoying devil-may-care attitudes that leads to large-scale destruction. It's just that he's very selective about the things he cares about, and doesn't let anything else get in the way of them. Mostly he cares about food, shelter, and acquiring more of his day-glo orange supermaterial.

As per his power, he can be slick, or abrasive, but usually he's distracted by keeping his friction in check. So whether he's nice about it or a complete d**k doesn't really matter because at the end of the day you're just going to have the impression that he doesn't really care about you. The only difference is that sometimes you'll think it's because he thinks he's too cool for you, and other times you'll think he actually is too cool for you.

Name: Roland Mathers
AKA: Bloodbeast
Current Age: 32
Appearance: His skin is quite dark with some faint bluish tones. His hair is short but unusually unmanageable. His eyes are an unremarkable brown, but the cold, sharp expression behind them shines through. His stature and physique are mediocre and unassuming. Most of the time, he's covered up with medical garments, so not much of his body can be seen. An armlet with ten vials is wrapped around his arm; it is connected to a saline lock on the inside of his elbow
Costume: When out performing his "other job", he tends to wear darker colors--browns, blacks, and maroons, all of which blend in with the dingy night scene in Delmor. He wears shades and a wide-brimmed hat to conceal most of his features, while he wears a harness and deep red pants to take the eye away from his head. The armlet and saline lock are much more noticeable, but he cares little if someone sees it. Ideally, he does not want to be seen at all. Of course, it can't always be avoided; he has come into contact with heroes in the past. When on his "other job", he usually employs his serums at regular intervals, so he has the benefit of at least one animal trait at any given time. For simplicity's sake, he walks barefoot, has a small tear in his hands, and keeps his hands free as much as possible.User ImageUser Image

Primary Power: By injecting himself through a saline lock affixed to his arm, he can transform into any animal. First, he must take a sample from an animal and spend fifteen minutes analyzing and processing the DNA. Then, he injects the serum into his bloodstream, at which point he can partially or completely change into the desired form. He can also add on extra serums, either samples of other creatures or simply augmentations. However, this risks complications, and the more types of animals he injects into him, the more painful it is and the more likely he will become ill for a few days. The changes otherwise last between fifteen and thirty minutes--usually closer to the latter. At the end of the day, if he has injected any serum into his veins, he must spend thirty minutes flushing out the chemicals and cleaning the wound.

Secondary Power(s): As an odd side-effect from constant DNA-doping, he has a strong affinity toward animals. Animals do not flee before him; instead, they become docile and affectionate, following him around constantly. A simple walk through the woods can cause upwards of 150 followers, much to his chagrin. He cannot control the animals, however; at best, he can pacify them.

Weakness: His need to further his research puts him in difficult situations, as does his innate desire to protect animals.

Personality: He is extraordinarily gruff. Honest to a fault, he cares little for others' emotions and often comes off as abrasive and cruel. He's also quite condescending, perhaps due to his education. He's quick to anger and annoyance, but sadness and happiness aren't normal for him at all. He doesn't care for conversation, company, or other people in general. He prefers to be alone when he can, but sometimes this is unavoidable. In the presence of animals, he calms down and speaks as if a small child were listening. He seems much less tense while around animals and prefers their company infinitely more than that of humans. He has been known to become affectionate and playful with the animals themselves, but he is quick to revert back to his usual self if disturbed.

Biography: Roland began life in a middle-class family that struggled to give him the world-class education his sharp mind needed. He was absolutely brilliant--among the top of his class. He excelled in the sciences, biology in particular, thanks to the support of a rather endearing teacher. He didn't have the best people skills; he felt he was God's gift to academia. He didn't really care about friendship or being sociable, anyway; these things were hindrances to his studies. He didn't do much for himself, either; school was his pastime, and all the money he got he saved for college. As such, he became a workaholic, a perfectionist, and something of a loner. He maintained this outlook throughout college and beyond. He was going to continue on to graduate school, but his undergraduate publications earned him a little bit of recognition.

Straight out of college, he was hand-selected to take part in a study on genetic mapping. It paid well, and the lab was well-equipped. There were instruments of all kinds, an intimidating library, a wealth of research, and a great number of test subjects--namely, animals. He devoted everything toward the pursuit of his research, including much of his remaining funding. However, as he stayed on the team, he noticed that somehow the money was trickling out of the project. The problem became worse when other researchers dropped out under mysterious circumstances. Ultimately, he became the sole researcher on the project, and it was going nowhere fast. The funding board wasn't seeing results, and he had spent most of his savings, so he was under great pressure to find another source of income. At night, he became a criminal, performing any crime worth the money--usually robbery, but anything that made a decent buck. He poured all the money back into the project. Someone apparently took interest into the source of his funds, and he soon found himself the victim of a blackmailer. He ultimately became a full-time crook to support both the project and his indiscretions, only getting about one or two hours for his research. He came into a few close scrapes with local superheroes, but to date he has not yet been caught.

Goals/Motives: He needs money, quickly. He will do nearly anything to obtain it. However, money in itself is not his main goal; rather, he needs the funding to further his research. The pursuit of knowledge and the exploitation of the genetic code are his ultimate goals.

Vices: By necessity, he has become a freeloader and a spendthrift. Also, he likes anything ending in -cino.

Other: He has developed a strong bromance with a Siberian tiger named Nikolai. He purchased the tiger from the laboratory early on in his research career, and the two have shared a series of progressively poorer-quality apartments.

Task One: Character Idea

This is already from another role play, but since that one sort of died out, I’ve decided to come here with my character (changed the name though so I won’t get confused). He’s Michael Greene, a tragic anti-hero that will do anything and everything if it means upholding justice. After a loss in the family, his outlook on the world is shattered. Now he is trying to refine his newly discovered ability of animal mimicry to become a hero and protect those who can’t be protected. All the while he has to balance school, friends, and family.

Task Two: A/S/L

Age: 18

Sex: Male

Name: Michael Greene

Task Three: For better or worse, good or evil?

Michael led a relatively normal life. He had two compassionate parents and a little sister that was four years younger than him. From the start, Michael was intelligent and had very quick problem-solving skills. He excelled in his education, yet came up short when it came to athletics. In spite of this, he managed to make a lot of great friends that went with him up to high school. Michael was part of a tight bond of friends that he could share everything with and still be accepted, guys and girls alike. Starting out in Taekwondo at an early age Michael was able to make it to the top of his class by using his natural ability to think quickly and out maneuver his opponents. Michael started to compete in various tournaments, shaping his body to be the best in the state.

High school was really when Michael’s life got even better. Friends could still be trusted; his loving parents still there for him through good times and bad, and he was able to protect his little sister from a lot of perverts. In his sophomore year, Michael obtained his driver’s license and now was able to hang out with his friends even more.

His junior year was when it all came crashing down. His little sister Elise was kidnapped by gangsters and held her up for ransom. In a failed rescue attempt by the police, Elise was killed and the gangbangers got away. Depressed, Michael would spend days at a time in his room, only coming out to go to school. Only in the past two months have the wounds from that terrible ordeal started to heal. With his recent discover that he had the power to mimic the special properties of different animals, a single thought came into his mind: revenge. He would turn into a hero to make up for the fact that he couldn’t save his sister, all the while trying to find the men who killed Elise.

Now, life has turned back to the normal state it was… somewhat. Michael is the same that he had always been; except now there is a darker, more cynical part to him now.

Task Three-Point-Five: I HAVE THE POWAH!!!!

Primary Power: Animal Mimicry. Michael is able to mimic the special properties of any animal, like the flight of a bird, or the electricity of an eel.

Secondary Power: He is a black belt in Taekwondo so he can mix his martial arts into his abilities to help him fight. For instance, he can use the proportional strength of a rhinoceros beetle to power his punches and kicks.

Weakness: Michael can only hold onto one ‘animal ability’ at a time, so if he tries to use a moth’s sense of smell while flying like a bird, he’ll fall right out of the sky.

Task Four: But she had a great personality…

Michael can usually be described as calm and laid-back, but there is always something at work somewhere behind those piercing green eyes. He has a general respect for others, and tries to treat people with courtesy whenever possible. Michael is a sucker for the ladies, and always treats them right, no matter what. If there is a problem or situation that is thrown at him, Michael doesn’t blindly run into head-first, he thinks calmly about it in order to make the best decision. In some situations, Michael is somewhat suave and can usually crack a smile and make some sort of witty or sarcastic comment.

Task Five: Don’t judge a book by its cover

Michael is tall at six feet two with dark brown hair. Despite a lot of his friends who have the straight, ‘hippy-dippy’ hair, Michael keeps his hair short and usually styles it up in the front. His eyes are an intense green, and are known to intimidate even the toughest of guys. Thanks to a summer of life-guarding, Michael has a slight tan. His clothing usually consists of plain T-shirts and jeans with a tan canvas jacket during the winter and fall.

Task Six: Pulling it all together into a profile

Name: Michael Greene
AKA: Mike
Current Age: 18
Appearance: Michael is tall at six feet two with dark brown hair. His clothing usually consists of plain T-shirts and jeans with a tan canvas jacket during the winter and fall.
Costume: A black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. He wears sunglasses to conceal most of his face. This is only temporary, since he is working on designs for a more ‘professional’ costume.
Primary Power: Animal Mimicry. Michael is able to mimic the special properties of any animal, like the flight of a bird, or the electricity of an eel.
Secondary Power(s): He is a black belt in Taekwondo so he can mix his martial arts into his abilities to help him fight. For instance, he can use the proportional strength of a rhinoceros beetle to power his punches and kicks.

-Finish school
-Become a hero
-Find the men who killed his sister
Vices: Michael is known to chew the sides of his mouth when thinking intensely of a subject.

Task One: Finding a Character Idea

I want to play someone a little more sane and with less of a complex backstory than Violet, kind of to give myself a break. This character has been rattling around in my brain for a little while, so I figured it's about time to give her life!

The idea is an angsty teenager with few friends. She doesn't fit in (though this is probably due to her own sour attitude toward others) and she spends a lot of time alone. She has the ability to talk to animals, an ability which initially delighted her when she discovered it at a young age, but as she's gotten older she's discovered that animals make just as poor conversation partners as humans (in some cases worse). Any subsequent abilities have yet to be discovered. Her best friend is a huge Siberian husky/golden retriever mix who follows her just about everywhere she goes.

Task Two: A/S/L?!?!

Her name is Elise Gordon. She's 16, and obviously female.

Task Three: For better or for worse, for good or for evil?

Elise was born into an upper-middle-class family living in the suburbs. She enjoyed the first few formative years of her life there, until her parents divorced when she was nine. Elise's father, her mother discovered, had been having a series of affairs over the course of the last four years. After hiring an investigator to collect visual evidence of her husband's infidelity, Elise's mother had no trouble taking just about everything in the divorce, including the house, the children, and the dog. Elise's father, meanwhile, packed up and disappeared, and Elise never heard from him again.

It was about this time that Elise discovered her ability. Upset by her parents' divorce, she ran off to cry by herself. She wound up huddled along a creek, crying to herself and tossing rocks in the murky water. One of the rocks startled a bullfrog, which let out a squeal and a string of expletives. Suddenly, she began to realize that the croaks of the frogs in the creek were being accompanied by actual, understandable words and, when Elise attempted to speak to the frogs, they not only understood her but they also answered back.

Elise quickly ran home to test this new ability on her puppy, Luca, who was just as surprised as she was to be spoken to and understood. Elise spent a lot of time speaking with Luca, to the point where her mother began to worry that the divorce was too traumatic for the poor nine-year-old. When Elise tried to explain her new abilities to her mother, her mother responded by sending the girl to speak with a therapist. The therapist, finding no real solution to the problem, simply told Elise's mother that it was all a figment of the girl's imagination, sparked by the divorce, and that Elise would grow out of it. That seemed to satisfy Elise's mother, and in the meantime Elise learned to speak telepathically with Luca and other animals to keep her abilities a secret.

Now in high school, Elise still lives in the suburbs with her mother, her mother's new husband, and her dog. Her older brother, Aaron, is five years Elise's senior and is currently in college studying to become a private investigator. Elise and Aaron are not very close, partly due to the age difference between them and partly due to the fact that Elise hardly ever sees Aaron now that he's living the college life. She has never spoken to Aaron about her abilities, though she wonders if he has the same powers that she does.

With the exception of school, Elise goes nowhere without Luca, her best and most trusted friend. Elise also has a cat named Disco, but they don't see eye to eye most of the time.

Maia and Kilos - Both accepted.

Maia, again, I'm sorry I didn't make it clearer that I wasn't being too picky with characters from players who were around before the restart.

Kilos - Great to have you with us!

Task One: Finding a Character Idea

User ImageUser Image I've been tossing ideas around in my head for another character that would present a completely different view for the RP (much like Chen but I decided he was just too... complex [the Seelie and Unseelie courts just confuse me and make my head hurt... X_x']). Somehow I got the idea for a child... but we kinda already have that in Violet, whose RPs I love to read so I didn't want another child in that sense....But I didn't want this "child" to be a normal child or even have that mentality. Which brings me to a character I have yet to even decide a gender for. ._.'

The main idea is that a warrior from the past was killed. Somebody (a monster or demon... or something. O_o) stopped this warrior before they enter what I shall only call the After Place (as this character is not religious, seeing as s/he killed for a living). This Somebody offered the warrior a deal, a few hundred years service for a chance to be returned to life with demonic powers and an extended life. The warrior accepted.

User ImageFast forward those few hundred years (but maybe 20-60 years before roleplay). The warrior has completed his/her service and was resurrected (not reborn. It's more like, the body was remade from the dust of the remains... or something... ._.) However, a group of exorcists (or similar) found this "new" demon before s/he could go off to test his/her new powers and offered him/her a place in their order. Demon Warrior refused. They fought. Yadda yadda yadda. [This is going longer than I hoped it would. *fails*] Either way, DW lost and the Order sealed the demonic powers and also sealing him/her into the body of child (10-12ish).

The demon warrior is now "employed" in the Order, slightly unwillingly due the circumstances around his/her "induction". S/he has been stationed at Delmor due the increase in supers and chance there could be monsters along with them. (Just a note, the monster/demon that gave the warrior demonic powers no longer associates with the warrior due to the warrior's connection the Order.)

Any other details I will probably do when actually creating this character as I'm still debating over name, gender and crap. ._. I'm inclined to do a girl because I'm more comfortable role playing as a girl but I could use some experience writing as a guy. Though I've seen similar back stories to this one but the character is a guy, so I want to do it from a girl's perspective... or something. Any ideas in terms of what would be good for the RP itself?

Whatever you decide, remember that you can always edit as you continue your planning. Try making a male and female character, then pick a favorite.

Task One: Character Idea

I guess the original idea came from my original character, Phantasm. I wanted a dark and brooding character, like that of Batman. I screwed up though when making Phantasm; I gave him superpowers. A big arsenal, actually, considering all that animal mimicry can do. Whenever I role played as Phantasm… I felt awkward… as if something was missing. That’s why I went inactive for some time. After watching the new movie Kick-a** however, it finally donned on me. I needed a power-less superhero; one that would fit the brooding personality. Although Batman served as an inspiration, Sentinel became his own character.

Task Two: A/S/L

Age: 26

Sex: Male

Name: Josh Carver

Task Three: For better or worse, for good or for evil?

Josh was the child prodigy of Professor Sean Carver of Yale University. Since his father made a plethora of cash and his son was a grade A genius, Josh was sent to the best educational centers around the country. Josh made a lot of friends, and took judo classes in his spare time. At this time Josh also developed an interest in swords and various weapons. Graduating from Princeton University, Josh returned to Delmor when he was twenty-two. Being around the finest institutions for the past decade and a half of his life, the crime rate in Delmor shocked Josh. His job proved to be a problem though: he was a technology designer and inventor for Innovating Technologies Corp. ITC is a company that develops various gadgets and gizmos to make life easier for the average American… or whoever has the biggest wallet. Although, this proved to be a blessing in disguise; Josh realized that he had access to various technologies that gave him the perfect opportunity to become a superhero to fight crime around the city. So for the next four years Josh began to work on various gadgets to help him in his vigilantism.

Task Three Point Five: I HAVE THE POWAH!!!!

Primary Power: Essentially, Josh has no powers – he has extensive martial arts, stealth, and sword-fighting techniques that allow him to fight opponents with enhanced reflexes.

Secondary Power: Using the technology he helps develop at his work, Josh is able to compensate for lack of abilities.

Weakness: As mentioned before, Josh as no special abilities whatsoever. If he were ever to go toe-to-toe with a fully powered super, Josh wouldn’t be in a good situation. Plus, a well-placed bullet or knife can seriously wound him.

Task Four: But she had a great personality…

Josh has a dual personality; one for his normal life, another for his ‘extra-curricular’ activities. During the day, Josh is a fairly happy guy with a good life. He has lots of friends and stays loyal to them even in tough times. When he is Sentinel, however, things change. Sentinel is quiet, with killer instincts. He isn’t afraid to kill; which is what he has to do sometimes for his lack of superpowers.

Task Five: Don’t judge a book by its cover

Josh can be said to be pretty average-looking. He is six foot even with short dark brown hair. Because of his rigorous martial arts training, Josh is very athletically built, weighing in at around one-hundred and ninety pounds. His ice blue eyes aren’t really special either, even though his true emotions can be displayed through them.

Task Six: Pulling it all into a profile

Name: Joshua “Josh” Carver
AKA: Sentinel
Current Age: 26
Appearance: Josh can be said to be pretty average-looking. He is six foot even with short dark brown hair. Because of his rigorous martial arts training, Josh is very athletically built, weighing in at around one-hundred and ninety pounds. His ice blue eyes aren’t really special either, even though his true emotions can be displayed through them.
Costume: He developed his suit while at ITC. The normal bodysuit consists of light-weight Kevlar plates woven into a bodysuit for comfort and protection. Josh also wears a cloak and cowl/mask for concealment purposes. The entire suit is dark blue.
Primary Power: Essentially, Josh has no powers – he has extensive martial arts, stealth, and sword-fighting techniques that allow him to fight opponents with enhanced reflexes.
Secondary Power(s): Using the technology he helps develop at his work, Josh is able to compensate for lack of abilities.
Weakness: As mentioned before, Josh as no special abilities whatsoever. If he were ever to go toe-to-toe with a fully powered super, Josh wouldn’t be in a good situation. Plus, a well-placed bullet or knife can seriously wound him.

Goals/Motives:
-Become a successful hero despite lack of powers
-Try not to be called Batman

This does seem heavily influenced by Batman, but you say that he's become his own character. I trust you with it. Your character is accepted. I'm actually really glad to see that you've decided to pursue a character that interests you instead of forcing yourself to work with a character that felt awkward to you. Have fun!

Task Two: A/S/L?!?! [Finally... ._.]

(I've brainstormed about this character a bit more and realized that I changed quite a few things from my last post. Her bio will definitely be, at the very least, half different from my last post. Just a warning. *shrug*)

Well, I've decided to do a female character. I'm not entirely sure I could really put the reason into words without making a lengthy paragraph about it so... Onto the next matter, name.

I recently had to look up Greek/Roman mythology for English class (we're doing A Midsummer's Night Dream) and I thought that the name of Greek myth figure would suit this character well, helping her seem older-ish and not quite human, despite what I play for her appearance. I went with Enyo (wiki). In short, she's a goddess of war, bloodshed and horror. Considering I'm thinking the exorcist/hunter organization treats her like a weapon, or something, I found it fitting. Her human name probably was forgotten long ago, even by her.

Age is slightly complicated. ._. Technically, Enyo is over 300 years old or so, I'll never really say for sure (at least not yet, heh) but has the physical appearance of a young teen (12-14ish). I'm thinking she'd have the mentality of an adult but most people that don't know she's a demon wouldn't take her seriously (looking like a kid, and all). But then again, Enyo doesn't have a ton of experience from those 300 years as she was working for a powerful being on a different plane for long time (at least 200 years). Then when she returned to this one, the organization "picked her up" and sealed her powers (hence why she had the body of a kid). I'm thinking that Delmor (or wherever she starts) is the first real freedom Enyo's had since she became a demon and actually knows very little about modern society. In short, Enyo's technically over 300, physically 13ish, maturity of an adult but experience of just another teen. ... ... ... This is going to be fun. xd

[Realization: ... Damn, Enyo's complicated... O_o]

Task 1: Finding a Character Idea

Wellllp...I decided to ditch Elise, and so I wanted to try my hand at exploring and hopefully not totally abandoning a new character! The idea was of a runaway, someone who sort of drifted through life by sleeping on the couches of whoever had an open cushion to offer...not really a tragic figure, but someone who was a little more apathetic to the high school angst...and a little more grown up than Violet.

This was an idea I used for an RP guild that crashed and burned before I really got to get into this character...I never really got to the part where she got powers, so I never had to do much to define them. I want her to have apocalyptic powers, some terrifying intermingling of old prophecy and twenty-something indifference.

Task Two: A/S/L?!?

Her name is Suzanna, but you can call her Zii. If you ask her her last name, she'll lie (it's actually Ezra). She's 20.

After doing a little research, I decided that Abaddon fit my criteria quite nicely, mostly because nobody can seem to agree on exactly who he is or what he does (or whether "he" is a "he" or a "she" or a place and not a being at all), and that means that I'm pretty much free to completely screw with ancient texts for the sake of RP convenience. I'm going with the interpretation of "him" as an apocalyptic and destructive being who can also serve as an angel of death. Also, locusts! Wee!

Task Three: For better or for worse, for good or for evil?

If you ask Zii about her past while she's sober, she's likely to show you a certain digit on a certain body part which carries a certain lewd connotation and tell you to mind your own business. If you ask her while she's in a slightly less-than-sober state, she's likely to give you a slurry and expletive-filled dissertation on why her father can choke on a certain part of the male reproductive system.

Zii was born into what seemed, initially, to be a rather pleasant Jewish family. The first child of a young and nervous couple, Zii caused a bit of a stir when she was born. She had all her fingers and toes, two eyes in the right place, and a set of strong, healthy lungs, but what seemed most unusual about Zii was, firstly, the fact that she was born with black hair. In itself, this isn't an all too unusual occurrence...until you take into account that her mother was a red head, her father had brown hair, and nobody, not even as far back as four generations on either side, had even the tiniest tint of black sprouting from their heads. Secondly, Zii was born with red eyes. No one needs to explain why this is a bit unusual.

Zii's appearance had her mother in a panic, her father ready to hire a divorce lawyer, and the doctors frantically scouring through medical journals for some kind of explanation. Finally, as a gesture of hopelessness, the doctors gave a shrug of their shoulders, told Zii's parents that it was just some kind of rare genetic mutation, and sent the troubled family on their way.

This explanation wasn't satisfactory for one member of Zii's family, however. Upon taking his fragile, odd grandchild into his arms, something snapped in the mind of Zii's grandfather. He began prattling off prophesies, hysterically howling about the end of the world, and how Zii was the incarnation of someone--or something--he called "Abaddon".

Two months later, Zii's grandfather was put in a nursing home, considered too unsound to continue to live on his own. Before going, he hid a long, rectangular box for Zii in the crawlspace of the baby's bedroom, attaching to it a note that instructed her not to open it until she knew the time was right. He lived three more months, then passed away quietly in his room.

As Zii began to grow, things in the house became strained. Zii's father was still not convinced that his daughter's appearance was due to a deformity and not his wife's infidelity. He became suspicious and possessive and took to drinking. Zii's mother was suffering from postpartum depression. She would have fantasies about harming Zii or herself, and she was prone to emotional breakdowns. Her condition was aggravated further by her husband's mistrust. She blamed Zii for tearing apart her marriage and her life.

One night, Zii's mother toppled over the edge. Zii's father came home to find his wife in the bathroom filling the bathtub while the helpless and crying Zii lay in it. Next to her was a bottle of aspirin and a bottle of gin. The terrified husband stopped her just in time to save his child, but too late to save his wife's sanity. Zii's mother was sent to a mental institution, and Zii never heard from her again.

Zii's father, now a single parent, did the best he could to keep Zii happy and healthy. He blamed himself for his wife's condition, and his guilt temporarily snapped him out of the hole he had been living in. He worked hard to rise up the corporate ladder, sent Zii to the best schools he could afford, and even did his best to find time to attend young Zii's dance recitals. Despite Zii's tragic beginnings, things were looking up.

This era of prosperity was short lived, however. When she was eight, Zii's father, an attorney, made a critical error and lost a huge case. He was fired. Unable to find new work now that his reputation was ruined, Zii's father had to move her to public school. They took up residence in shadier and shadier neighborhoods, constantly moving with each new eviction notice. He took up drinking again.

She was nine the first time he hit her. By ten, Zii was living in foster care.

The next six years were a flurry of foster homes and bad decisions. Zii discovered the joys of booze, parties, and boys. She was constantly at odds with her foster parents, no matter who they happened to be this month. She was forced into rehab more than once. By sixteen, she had dropped out of high school and was living with a twenty-something-year-old guitarist boyfriend.

She bounced around over the course of the next two years, shacking up with boyfriends and working low-end jobs. But, when she was eighteen, she received a call from her father. He knew where she was, and he wanted to find her.

That's when Zii packed up and moved to Delmor, determined never to let her past catch up with her. She changed her number and started using fake names, only working in places that were willing to pay her cash. Now twenty, Zii works a bartending job at a local club. She resides with her current boyfriend, Rowland Hawes.

Through all her trials and tribulations, Zii has always kept the box her grandfather left her. She has never opened it.
