Why do you love Japan: I'm a bit of a culture buff, I like learning about a lot of different places. The japanese culture is just so.. interesting. The way they treat their elders with such respect, and how honor is held in such high esteem. Plus I just like a lot of things in it. Kimonos, yukatas, the sandals, I wish I knew the name, geisha, the way the fashion has been changing over the years, ganguro girls, jpop, visual kei.. I could go on for a while. I had a teacher waaay back in the day who was originally from Japan, and she showed us all a bookmark made of ricepaper. It was gorgeous.
Ever been to Japan, if so where: Never been, but it'd be great to go. Maybe as part of an exchange student program? It would be a great way to learn the language, plus pick up all sorts of interesting things. I'd love to get a yukata, a hand fan, lots of nice paper and ink for cards, and maybe learn a bit about the shinto religion.
Interests: Different cultures, different languages, helping others, anime, video games, reading, cats (pretty much anything about them), cooking, baking

Any other Additional Info: I just got my first book on learning japanese, plus I try to watched subbed anime when I can. I know the latter isn't really the best way to learn the language, but I've picked up a decent amount of words from it. It was rather neat to recognize them in the book, and I also saw a few in 'The Day after Tomorrow' when I caught that on TV. domokun

Personality: Somewhat egotistical and standoff-ish at first, but once I get confortable I loosen up and you'll see that I am rarely serious. I love helping others, but too much incopitence annoys me. I don't plan on being a liguistic major, instead I plan on going to an art institude and getting a degree in design, studio art, or illustration.

As my BFF's boyfriend likes to say I am "artsy-fartsy to the max". My sketchbook goes with me everywhere, my camera is usualy near by, and I'm obsessed with making things look nice. The only exception is my notebooks and homework. Those are covered in so many rough sketches, doodles, and my scribbles I pass off as handwriting, that neatness doesn't even come to mind when looking at them. World war 3 on the other hand, does.
I am interested in Anime and Manga, but not obsessivly so. When I do read manga, I don't bother with translations, since my limited Japanese, the helpfullness of furigana, and skillfullness with a dictionary tend to give me the main gist of any original Japanese manga I pick up.

Why do you love Japan: I love the way they live and everything about them, in my city theres always gangs, fights, shootings etc.. the people are so calm and cool i just love every thing about them. More old japan you know kimonos and stuff that what i love most.
