Mashiro Morimoto 4th-Seat

PostPosted: Sat Jan 16, 2010 5:16 pm

Mashiro turned not, as he continued to walk to the very spot where he had fought with the Vice-Captain. Soon they came to a small clearing, with an old, large stump in the middle. Black marks where all about as a sign of battle not too long ago. Old blood stains cured the ground they stood on. " That fight was not for you to see." the 4th-Seat said to the new Shinigami. The wind picked his long, red cape up and moved it about with a gentle push and pull. " I am sure being out of the Academy you know there are more than one type of battles. Some are fought for protecting others, while some are to avenge a fall friend. Then there are some that are for honor and others for valor. As a Shinigami it is out duty to not only fight these battles but to also know which one we are fighting." The Blond Shinigami turned around, with his eyes closed, or so they seemed. His hair moved about from left to right. The gold chain, which held his cape together, lay resting on his chest. " The fight between the 3rd Seat and other 4th Seat was of Honor. Before you came here the Captain and my Sensei, MockaDash, opened a Seating Tournament right after the liberation of the Seireitei. Before Hishida could face the 3rd Seat, they where called away on a mission, and by that time the Captain went ahead and decided their rank. So now they are putting their skills to the test, who is the strongest. A battle such as that is not for the eyes of lower members as a sign of respect to your officers. There is much you must learn before you can truly understand such things...." With that Mashiro sat in the middle of the Tree Stump. Interestingly enough there was already a seating pad on it, which was Mashiro's that he left from his last battle.

Asuko entered the forest with a smile on his face, and a spring in his step. The forest would be devoid of most people, which meant less interaction. Sure, there were a few shinigami littered about the forest, but.. it was definitely a less formal atmosphere than the stuffy confines of the squad barracks. Here, he would enjoy himself, and possibly practice his swordplay a bit, without the ridicule or comparison of the others. He needed to better himself. Even at his tall stature, he was considered puny, and wimpy. Some way or another, he needed to improve upon himself.

He pushed deeper into the forest, looking for a nice and peaceful spot to rest, and to train for a little while. It seemed to him that this forest really was[/] endless. Much larger than he had expected. As he walked along, he realized just how quiet things were here. Just about the only thing that could be heard was the rustling of the wind through the trees, the faint clatter of swords, and... nearby voices? Asuko, having greater hearing than most, could pick up faint traces of voices in the distance. He moved towards the source of the sound, carefully walking around trees, while still trying to focus on what his ears were hearing.

At last he had turned up upon a clearing, where the source of the voice was heard. Two shinigami were there, one seated upon a massive stump, the other standing nearby. He didn't recognize either of them, which was to be expected, but nonetheless he called out to them. "Hello!" he said, as he approached them, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything... am I?"

Mashiro Morimoto 4th-Seat

PostPosted: Tue Jan 19, 2010 3:23 pm

Mashiro did not move his head as the other Shinigami announced himself. Instead he looked out the corner of his eye, which almost looked aggresive. " It is costumary for others to announce themselves formally before asking questions. If you must know, no, you are not interupting. But, I expect that you learn your place before the day is out." the Blond Shinigami stood as he spoke. He turned slightly so that half of his body was facing the new comer. " I am Mashiro Morimoto, 4th-Seat of Squad 13. I take it either you come from another Squad or a new member, because I can assure you that our members are much more formal...."

Rei entered the quiet forest, clearly only vaguely aware of other presences in there, she walked absentmindedly toward the clearing. Within a few seconds, though, the female shinigami took notice of the three spiritual pressures in the forest; two from shinigamis she didn't know (not surprisingly, though), and one from Mashiro. They're at the clearing..... She realized. I should at least say hi to them... right? Or is that the weird thing to do?! Rei panicked as she realized that she barely interacted with anyone in the 13th squad.
Too late. Her legs already carried her to the edge of the clearing. She bowed hastedly to the blonde shinigami sitting on the tree stump, two other shinigamis surrounding him.
"4th Seat Morimoto- sama, it's nice se.. seeing you....." Rei's voice trailed off as she realized how ridiculous that entrance sounded. With her back still bend and her head still down, she waited for Mashiro's reply.

After the curt remark from the 4th seat, a look of shock and utter terror washed over Asuko's face. Instantly, he dropped to the ground, bowing before Mashiro. "I am so sorry! Please forgive me, Morimoto-sama!" He was absolutely mortified that he completely forgot his manners. Though he'd probably forget this soon, it greatly stressed him at the moment. "My name is Asuko Okusa, unseated officer of Squad 13. Again, forgive me, as I am extremely new to the squad. If I had know I would've shown more respect please forgive me!" He was practically grovelling before the man's feet, demonstrating just how sincere he was. He had great respect for his higher-ups, and losing their respect meant losing part of his world...

Mashiro looked over at Rei, who had just joined in with the group. As she announced herself, he turned his full body to her in respect. He was glad to see that she had made it alive from her battle some time ago, and looks stronger than even. " Welcome, Rei. I hope Alder-dono made it back from that battle as well. It seems that the Vice-Captain and I went too far and almost killed you two, not that you needed help with that." the Blond Shinigami said in a sarcastic, but respectful tone. This is one skill that Mashiro learned early on in the 13th Squad. If it wasn't for the fact that he and his Sensei where as different as Sun and Rain, he might have turned out different. In any case he now had to contend with the new member, Asuko Okusa.

Morimoto looked down at the shinigami with peircing eyes. It seemed that all his reishi was condenced into his eyes and was able to send a beam of fear into others. Was this a new ability he obtained, or was it just his position? He could not tell. All that was apparent was that he knew his place... " You talk too much, Okusa. If you really wanted to show respect before then you might have checked your manners before speaking. Remember that only the Captains and Vice-Captains have true signs of suppiriority, other than the stature of Senior Officers. Just know that for now on announce yourslef formally even if you know they are not a seated officer."

(Enter, Alder, from Squad Twelve.)

Alder had entered through the treetops of the forest. He had hidden his Reiatsu, as not to attract attention. He was now on a tree branch on the outer rim of the plain where Mashiro and the others were. "Not to be rude, Fourth Seat, but you have quite the a**l personality when it comes to flaunting your rank." Alder said casually. He walked over to Mashiro and the others, obviously not afraid of Mashiro in the least. "Personally, I'm rather tired of it. We're in a squad to be partners, to be a family, not for you to impose your 'Senior Officer' powers on us all the time, JUST because you got the rank and want to display it all the time."

Rei straightened a little as Mashiro acknowledged her, and she silently breathed a sigh of relief at the blonde shinigami's tolerance for her stupid greeting. Personally, Rei didn't find any fault in being blasted off by the Vice- Captain and him, for she was just too much of a weakling then. Still with her head a little lower than usual, she nodded to Okusa- san and felt bad about intruding upon their conversation.
A quiet rustle behind her made Rei jump, and she turned, startled, to see Alder walking towards them. Just the person I want to see! Her eyes lit up as she finally found the person who saved her life a few days ago; She searched all over the 13th squad meeting places, and was unable to find him, so who knew that he would suddenly show up here?
"Al.. Alder- sama...." She bowed once again, this time toward Alder. "You have my gratitude for saving my life back when we fought." Wondering if that really is the right way to interact with people around here, Rei smiled hesitantly.

"Not a problem, Rei. I wish I could stay and press the matter further, Fourth Seat, but I've been requested by Vice Captain Hinata for Shikai training." Alder said as he whipped his entire body around, proceeding at an extremely rapid pace to the training ground.

He had good reason to be anxious for Shikai.....he'd fought without it successfully against the fourth seat and the Vice Captain of the squad....what damage he'd be able to do WITH it was merely a mystery...for now.

(Exit, Alder, to [PRP] "The Deadly Dancer" Alder's Shikai Training.)

Quietly listening to the new conversation around him, Asuko quietly stood back up and straightened himself out, trying his best not to catch too much attention. He had had no idea who was who around here, but slowly he was learning, and learning himself. Seems the 4th seat shouldn't command so much respect, or something... Asuko did not regret his display of apology, though. But, he would not be grovelling as such again. At least, maybe to someone of higher rank. Like the captain... If he ever returned..

Soaking in the information, he simply stood there, playing background, until they decided to focus attention upon him again.

(Forgive the delay in reply...let's catch up, shall we? razz )

Hitoroku rubbed his chins a bit as he thought upon the senior officer's words and nodded in understanding. Before he could speak another word, a sudden voice came up from behind them. Reflexively, his hands went to his swords, ready to draw them at a moment's notice, but calmed down a bit when he heard Mashiro address the man. Not seeing an ability to interject, he allowed Mashiro to yell at the newcomer, grinning underneath his hood since he had been yelled at in such a way by the 4th seat.

His reflexes were triggered yet again when a woman's voice arose, pulling his blades out a bit from the instinctive move. He immediately put the swords back into their sheaths and looked over at the girl, grinning at her.

Yet when the next voice spoke, he did not reach for his swords. He could feel the man's reaitsu was larger than his own, and did not wish to make a preemptive hostile action towards him. Instead, he would raise a hand to his face to stifle his laughter when the newcomer told off Mashiro, agreeing with the man whole heartedly on how a squad was supposed to act.

As the other three talked, the gray-robed shinigami walked over next to Asuko, turning to watch the discussion and not his fellow squadmate.

"Rather interesting, isn't it? Seems that there is friction already between squads..." Hitoroku murmured, the hood casting a long shadow to hide his smirk...

Mashiro was disturbed about the insubordination coming from Alder, which was somewhat unexpected. Not to mention in front of new Squad members. Such things he did not forgive. However, before he could complete his scolding, Alder ran off to do his job.

The 4th-Seat looked at the two new shinigami, who where talking among themselves. " Need not worry about that, Hitoroku. He is only an 8th-Seat and does not take kindly to the same formalities that I am accustomed to. But in any case we must forget about the troubles of higher matters. Lets get to it..."

(( OK IDK who deleted my post but you have better have a good reason. I am a 4th-Seat and unless it is a real good explanation I suggest you don't do that again.))

Hitoroku merely shrugged and rested his hands upon his twin zanpakutou, looking off in the direction the rebellious 8th seat went. With a slight smirk hidden by the shadow of his hood, he spoke up without changing his looking direction.

"Ever fight him, Mashiro-san? Maybe that would put him in his place? If he disrespects you like that and it truly bothers you, why not duel him much like the other two are dueling right now?"

Rei bowed once again as Alder left for wherever he was needed, and her silver eyes glanced at Mashiro uncomfortably due to Alder's remarks. Taking notice that Asuko and the robed shinigami were standing together, she realized that they must be new members, or she would at least had recognized their riatsu from somewhere.
Ok, Rei, this is your chance, she told herself, this is a good time to try to be social. But as she was just working up the courage to introduce herself, Mashiro said something to the robed shinigami; whose name, apparently, is Hitoroku.
Hitoroku- san, eh? The female shinigami thought. And there are Asuko- san and Marimoto- sama..... What are they all doing here, anyways?

Even as Mashiro spoke to the new shinigami, he noticed that Rei was looking all around as if in deep thought. " Is something bothering you, Rei-dono?" His tone changed to a warm, caring one as he came off the tree stump. Though he did not wish to ignore the new shinigami's question, he knew Rei was troubled.
