((No one else is posting, that's not a good thing. emo ))

Zero just groaned in the direction of the distortion as he walk up to the next tree. He placed his hand on it, not knowing if it would be able to hear him with telepathy. After 500 years of psychic training, it was something that he was able to do easily, and direct contact allowed others to not be able to intercept his messages. I never would have allowed this when I was in charge. Just shows how quickly things can change. Be ready... Zero stepped back and repeated the attack that he had used on the other trees, ending in the same result.

((yah...must be because of my scary rpc, lol xD ... sweatdrop ... anyhoo, won't be online much until tuesday. i'm busy; hanging with my bro, graduation shmoo, and jury summons all coming around this weekend.))

Indeed, their time will come as well, Ayumu thought. He knew it was only one possibility, though he wished that his words could have some sort of significance or power over the events of the future.

"You do your job well. I wouldn't expect anything less from the former leader," though his desire was to see Zero slip up along the way, seeing as how it looked like Zero was doing the task effortlessly.

((To bad Loki was booted, I'm sure he would have already been trying to set all the other clans on fire. rofl ))

Zero headed for the next tree in the line, there should have been about 14 of these large trees left. He figured that he could use a more powerful slash and actually take out two or three at a time, but this way he could take his time and try to still communicate with the trees for the little time they had left.

Zero continued to cut down the trees one by one. Although each of them appeared to be a different species, they all burned the same way. He continued, not sure if Dusk was still watching, until he reached the last one. He placed his hand onto it and sent another telepathic message, This is it, I can't be sure what will happen after this...

True, only uncertainty seems to be left. Do as you must, and finish me.. The whole tree groaned and creaked, as if tensing up for the final stand.

((what about the fire clan, shouldn't they be defeated with water? lol xD ---steamy~ x3 ))

((True, lightening and earth should be able to put out fire too. mrgreen ))

I pray you some how survived this, and that you won't experience any pain. Zero stepped back and raised the glowing blade of the halberd. He paused there for a few seconds, hesitating as he tried to imagine what would happen. He wondered if it would simply burn away like with the other trees, or if it would have more of an...exciting result. He then realized his hesitation and quickly sliced through the tree. He watched the pieces fall to the ground and start to burn. He reattached the halberd onto his back and pull a fist to his chest, a salute he had used for thousands of years, ever since he started training in his tribe. He closed his eyes for a second and paid his respects.

((well, it's possible wind can do that as well, if it's strong enough 83 . just means we have to overwhelm them twisted

i guess i should hurry up and bring kivay here so you can have someone to play with rofl ---lol xDDDD , sounds so wrong rofl ))

The tree only burned away in the same manner as the other trees before it. Though now, since the divide was completely destroyed, there wasn't anything preventing the corruption of the land to extend just a little further. The banks started to blackened and the river became a sickeningly murky. The changes slowed the further it progressed, before it finally came to a stop.

Dusk rolled his eyes after watching the ritual. He grew up in an environment where giving such respect to one's foes was frowned down upon, or jeered at by most demons. Over in this new world, there were so many random aspects of the culture that were completely different from the one followed in Hell. Zero saluting a tree, he thought, was absurd, "Zero, do you realize just how silly you look doing that for a plant? The thing wasn't even sentient, or do you believe it was?"

{There was a faint sound that echoed down a white hallway. It was a gasp for air, and then chains clinking against each other and plopping down onto a ground consisting of white sand and a blanket of mist. Ayumu looked down and saw his fingers partially buried in the grains, and four different chains tied around both of his forearms and legs. He labored to get himself standing, with the sensation that he was being weighted down by a stronger gravitational pull than he was used to. Then he looked ahead. He froze, and stared in wide-eyed disbelief at what he saw, This does not bode well...}

Zero sneered in the direction of Dusk's voice, still something he wouldn't be able to see because of the helmet. He dropped his fist back to his side as he felt the Artifact energies fill the suit, now that the tree's effect had diminished. He continued to speak to Dusk as he walked back, "I believe all things in this word have a life force, doesn't necessarily mean they are sentient. But these trees were different, unique. Unfortunately I had no time to study them..." He stepped on one of the burnt branches and it immediately fell apart into ash. "I'm headed back to my tower, I feel the need to build something explodey."

Reiki stopped short, a few metres away from the border between the Dark and the River clan. He shook his tails, and smelt the air.
"Impossible. It seemed that the trees are all .. burnt down?"
The fox walked a few feet to his right, and noticed that the Trees are no longer there. To him, the atmosphere had changed into a sad, angry, and lonely scenery. How could anyone just burnt them down like it was nothing?
But he could feel a presence, slowly fading away.
Reiki hid behind a trunk, and stayed still, waiting for the presence to go away.

Zero stopped in his tracks and groaned. He had left death behind him, a moment ago there was the presence of nothing, but now...there was something. Well over a millennia of mental training had taught him many things, one of those things was detecting different life forces. And right now, it was like seeing one bright star in the black night sky. He turned around and gazed off into the border where he felt this new presence, trying to make out if it was the same annoying character he encountered before, or if it would be much less of a nuisance.

Dusk smiled, Something explodey? Sounds interesting.

Reiki sensed that the presence is not fading. Instead, its coming closer. He cursed a word under his breath for the fact that he himself forgot to cover up his life energy, yet again.

He didn't move an inch from behind the tree stump.
I'm still in the River Clan's side of the border. If he's going to enter, I'm in deep trouble.
Reiki resist the temptation to transform into his fox form and ran. He stayed still, hoping the wind slowed down and not spread his 'smell'.
