"What are you looking at me for?" Sorin blinked. "Vampire. Vampires are bad, remember, rule number one?"
"This is different, Sorin..." Korai said. He nudged Mirage gently, "I should have asked sooner, are you alright?"

Arron frowned. "True...father never said anything about half vampires though...." His brow wrinkled in thought. It was puzzling because they were always told Vampires were bad....the fact Mirage was a vampire but didn't behave like her mother around them threw that out the window....Now he was just confused...
Mirage glanced to Korai and nodded. "I'm fine...I don't think anything is entirely complete.. I only bit her...I didn't allow her to bite me..."

"So she's a half vamp," Sorin rolled his eyes. "She still drank the blood of a vampire. That's not a good thing..."
"That's good," Korai said quietly, ignoring his brother. "It means you should be in control of the connection. But Mirage, taking in tainted blood is very dangerous..."

She frowned hard. "I told you I didn't intend to take her blood...." yet she didn't have the will power to stop herself either....
Arron shrugged. "But...she's part dragon...how do we know she'll even be affected by it?"

"I know," Korai said softly. "I didn't intend to reprimand you..."
Sorin snorted, "There's a first."
"But..." Korai shot a look at his brother before continuing. "I'm concerned for you, Mirage. We don't know how it will affect you, perhaps your vampire blood is completely different from the type we're use to dealing with, maybe your dragon's blood will protect you - but we don't know for certain. How are you feeling? You looked..." he hesitated looking for the right word. "Disoriented back in the woods."

She shook her head then frowned. "Not really not like her...It's hard to explain....As a baby I've always managed to bring out desire in a few people....I gained control of that but I think my grip slipped when I took her blood."

She bit her lip lower lip, not really wanting to try to explain her talent. It was difficult to explain you had some control over a person's desire when you didn't want it to begin with...
Except...this was Korai. If she couldn't trust him, her own friend, who could she trust?

"I wasn't exactly given a choice...just like I wasn't given a choice to who I'm born from..." She sighed a little, simply happy the desire that rose had fallen back into it's 'cage'.
