Question, is there a reason why Sin would attack Sim unprovoked? I mean, Sin fired on him the moment he stepped in, before really, he could do anything...

I mean, really, the only "threatening" things Sin has done as of yet were to threaten Roy to "beg for his life," but didn't really do anything, and of course, retaliate against Ismaru...

In fact, after the inital anger Sin had, Sin actually seemed... maybe not nice, but at least pitying those around... Roy, Shoy... and even withheld doing anything against Ismaru for a good long time...

It's actually a simple reason:

Sin was going to fire at Sim, while he was down and being held by Amigo.
But then some random people ran in. These people were unplanned, and since Sim was being pretty much retained for the time being, Sin threw the attack toward the newcomers instead in defense.

I mean think about it - if someone randomly ran into your house, your first thought is how to protect yourself, right? The Pheonix was already in the middle of an attack, so she just diverted it to go to Sim instead.

Anyway, I'm trying to think of what to do with the updates to this story now. I've pretty much put myself in a corner. The only way to write my way out of this room is to have some characters die, and that doesn't seem right since most of the characters in the room haven't had much depth and I'd be sad to see them go.

Right now I've made a huge mistake in putting all the characters in one spot before I was ready. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to add in mercain and sim - it only made things worse for me.

I'm going to have to really take some time to figure this out, or off some characters.

Maybe let 'em come within inches of dying... badly wounded so they're stuck not being able to fight?

But... that'll affect the plot... especially when some of the characters seem like they type where they'd beat the dead body until they were sure... ^____^( )

Heck, if it worked for The Legend of Zid: The Penguin Zombie Pie Cometh, then why can't it work for CC? I mean, at least CC doesn't have a giant sentient can of juice with mass-teleport-inducing-headaches.
