Okay...long shot. She picked Kero up and whispered.
"Something about the pin that Ally's wearing creeps me out. Can you check it for me?" She put him closer to Ally. "I'll give you pudding!" She added quietly. If Kero knew what was going on with that pin maybe she could get over her irrational fear of it.
Bree turned her attention back to the play. Valjean was just getting his ticket of parole.
"Yes, it means I'm free." He sang.
"No. It means you get your yellow ticket of leave!
Your are a thief!"
"I stole a loaf of bread!"
She smiled as she listened and watched.

Kero covertly scooted over and looked up at Ally. The broach on her head gleamed slightly in the backwash light from the stage. It looked kind of familiar. Where had he seen that before? On a whim he extended his senses to it. He touched something slightly feeling like magic. But if it was an antique of some kind, then time would have worn that residual feeling into it anyway.
But something nagged at the back of his mind. Hidden? Something...
Suddenly Timmy, along with most of the audience, laughed loudly at some joke that had gone on stage. Kero's concentration wavered then snapped and he sat back. Briefly he glanced back up at the broach, but turned back to the stage. It was probably nothing.

Obviously nothing was wrong with it. Bree relaxed a bit. She was just overreacting. She leaned back and whispered to Kero.
"Anything?" She asked quietly, still tense. She couldn't even laugh at whatever was funny! She was worried... really worried... she never worried! Argh! Maybe it was just sitting in the dark with two people she barely knew. Wait? Why didn't she count Tim as 'barely knew'? She'd only known him for a day!
Argh, she was confused. It was probably nothing.

Kero shook his head, accompanied by a slight shrug of his shoulders. He kept his eyes on the stage, determined to watch the show. This one wasn't bad. If ten were the best showing he ever saw, and one was the worst (the one in Pert fifty years or so ago. He shuddered to think of it. Don't ever let the Aussies put on classical plays), this was about a seven.

(Happy Easter!)
Bree leaned back, trying to enjoy the show. How had she so dearly wanted to see this and yet let it be ruined by a case of nerves? She held her backpack close, reaching inside. She brushed her finger against the card, feeling slightly safer. Her other hand grasped her necklace and she took a deep breath. Okay, she was better now. She was starting to enjoy the show.

Today was turning out to be a good day. Ally was getting the chance to spend the whole day with Steven, she was getting to see a play with some new friends, and it was made all the better by the fact that it was her eightteenth birthday today!
After the performance got going, Ally relaxed into her seat and laid her head against Steven's shoulder. Nothing could possibly ruin this day for me today she thought to herself as she gazed up at the stage.

(( DUN DUN DUUN! ))
The lights came on for the intermission and Tim stretched his arms. He was pleasantly surprised that he rather liked this play. "This is pretty good," he said to Bree, smiling.
People all around them were getting up. Some were going outside for bathroom breaks, but most were just standing around talking and stretching.

"I told you it would be good." She grinned at him, then looked at Ally. "Um... is it just me, or is that pin thing... creepy?" She asked softly, looking down. She fidgeted slightly, then looked back up at him.

"Creepy?" He looked over at it, then back at Bree. "Not really." He shrugged. "I mean, I guess maybe 'cause it's a sword, but I think it's kind of pretty." He looked at her curiously. "Why do you ask?"

"I know, that was my first thought, but something told me to get away from it. To run as fast and as far as I could. It wasn't Ally I know that... it was the sword." She shivered. "Its just... creepy!" She looked at him. "I'm not crazy." She clutched her necklace.

He raised his hands. "Woah, calm down. No one said you were crazy." He cocked an eyebrow. "I can see why you like Broadway, though. You're just as dramatic as they are."
He glanced back over at the broach. "If it makes you feel any better, I'll keep an eye on it."

Bree smiled weakly at him. "Thanks." She grabbed his hand and squeezed it lightly, then dropped it. She looked back at the stage, feeling a bit better now. She still kept one hand on her key though, just because that made her feel safe. She glanced at Tim, still smiling. The intermission was about over by now, so she was hoping it'd get dark and she wouldn't have to see the pin for another while.

(( OK, I was waiting for Durban to post, but we should get going now I guess ))
Tim bent down to ask Kero about his handshake thing again, but the lights abruptly went down. The intermission was over, and people quickly got quiet as the music slowly rose back up.
Tim settled back in his chair to enjoy the rest.

When Alex re-entered the theatre, he happened to find a different seat waiting for him. In that seat, there was a boy and a girl, about the same age, with a strange stuffed animal in the arms of the girl. Still, he hated the fact that he had to live his life alone until he found another magic wielder, and hejust kept his gaze away as long as possible.
