 Part I – The Sentinel
Player: bluekoinu Name: Fable Nicknames: n/a Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 29/02/2008 Type: Ghost Task: Scout Personality: Fable is easygoing and is most happy when out flying. She enjoys her space and is perfectly happy spending most of her night patrolling the forest with her companion. A little shy to those she doesn’t know very well, once the ice is broken she can be quite talkative. Fable is extremely loyal to her family and those close to her. She takes her duty very seriously and is constantly training to hone and improve her skills. Fable’s small downfall is she can be a little too gullible for her own good, though as she has grown she has become slightly less so. Once she has been tricked into believing something, she has a hard time accepting that she might not actually be right, after all. She doesn't like being told that she is wrong History: Fable was the second born chick in a clutch of two eggs. She shares a close bond with her brother and they support each other in everything they do. In fact she was afraid to take her first flight due to (oddly enough) a fear of heights. Her parents tried to encourage her in taking flight but she absolutely refused. Her brother who had already taken wing was the one that was able to help her take the first jump. After that first initial jump, her fear evaporated; it was a lot more fun than she had thought. She has practiced very hard to become better and blossomed into an extremely talented and speedy flier. Her mother had high hopes that her daughter would become a minder, however her father felt her growing talent in flying would lead to a different task. Sure enough shortly after taking to the air, she ran into the infamous scout, The Shadowstalker, when she accidentally fell from the safety of the trees. This encounter made Fable quickly idolize him and to want to be just like him. Training extra diligently from that point on, she hopes to rise up in the ranks and be honored for her achievements. Territory: She is still searching for her perfect territory but for now she is fairly flexible on where she roosts; preferring not to stay in one location for very long. Mate: none Companions: Yes Certificate:
Part II – Companions
Name: Piper Species: Parus Age: Young Speech Ability: 2 Intelligence: 3 Skill: An extremely agile flier, he is a companion for Fable and loves to sing. He rarely speaks even though he does have the ability. He was given to Fable by her parents when she was a fledgling and has become highly valued by his mistress.

Part I - The Sentinel
Player: Azumi Name: LadyHawk Nicknames: None that she currently goes by, but her old ones were “My Lady” and “Laha.” (Call her those now and she’ll probably give you a good socking.) Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young enough, but old enough to know many things about life itself and to have experienced many things Hatch Date: 3/14/200? Type: Ghost Task: Scout Personality: Upon first looks and meetings, LadyHawk shows nothing that’s reminiscent of “soft” or “kind.” She is a Sentinel of few words – though at times she will talk fluently – and prefers to use actions to get her true points and feelings across. She’ll usually only state her opinions if she is asked for them, but if the topic is on mixed mating (two different types becoming mates), she’ll immediately put in her two cents against the matter. Her face almost always holds a no-nonsense expression, and her voice also holds a strong, stern undertone the vast majority of the time.
Due to her past, she’s a tough thing. She knows how to defend herself and fight in all the physical aspects, and if pushed, she won’t hesitate to knock another around if they haven’t heeded her warnings. She doesn’t pick fights, though, and if she does claw at somebody, it’s out of some sort of defense.
She’s a secretive thing, and is the sort who is very reluctant to tell of anything about her past. When asked, she’ll either ignore the question completely, or just change the subject. And if one were to ask about the reason behind her six, black dyed primaries, she’d most likely mutter something cold and/or just fly away without another word.
LadyHawk is actually a Sentinel full of small subtleties, and if one were to actually watch her, and listen to her, and look past the stern undertone and hard exterior, there would be much to see. Things such as her voice and how it’s actually quite intriguing and pretty to listen to, with it’s sensual and raspy tone, and how she is constantly watching out for others (bringing extra food to those who need it, being close by medic areas if there are Sentinels severely injured, etc), even though they may very seldom realize it. She’s quite the introverted busybody who holds many, many secrets about her life… in short. History: LadyHawk’s past is something known to very, very few, and as far as she knows, they’re all located in the NotCold south. So, thusly, details about why she is the way she is, and why her beliefs are the way they are, are basically nonexistent unless she decides to actually tell them. Almost the only thing that’s openly known is that she has only just recently retaken up her position as a Scout after a long time of being a Ranger. Territory: Currently two old fir trees on the northern border of the Deep Woods. She’s hardly ever there though, and because of that, others often take her territory. But she doesn’t really care/mind, and usually just finds somewhere else to go. Mate: None Companions: None Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Orasteele Name: Timber Nicknames: None. Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 16/11/2007 Type: Deep Woods Task: Scout Personality: He is outgoing, and enjoys striking out on his own. His youth often gives way to his better judgment, but who doesn't like a little adventure every now and again? History: Timber was adopted by Sirius when he was just an egg. His adopted parent taught the young sentinel how to hunt and fly. As a fledgling Timber's fascination with the above began. During one traverse up to the high reaches of the tree-line he met the elite, Sandriver. He has a fondness for the Sergeant and hopes that his chosen profession will be a help to the elites in the future. Territory: Has yet to claim a territory of his own. Plans on staking out a piece near his father's tree. Mate: None. Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Natsube Name: The Shadowstalker Nicknames: none. He only answers to THE Shadowstalker. Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: 03/25 Type: Shadow Task: Scout Personality: The Shadowstalker is an odd one. Other Sentinels wish he would keep to himself, so that they could just call him a crazy hermit and be done with him, but The Shadowstalker loves company about as much as he loves his solitude. He constantly talks, his speech always in third person, and speaks whatever is on his mind. He has no inner monologue because everything he says aloud is what he thinks. He thinks of himself as a special branch of the elite, a rogue elite as it were, and is constantly making trouble to "uphold the justice of Noctua". He is terrified of the Brigadier and his Elites, probably because he thinks that he gets in their way.
The Shadowstalker works as a scout, loving to do night scouting and utilize his ability to blend in the shadows and his Chirops. Though considered strange by just about everyone, he does his job well, almost too well, and to the horror of some parents, fledglings probably want to be "just like him" when they grow up. His larger than life personality threw all females for a loop and has lived alone for a long time, but that has changed since he met Moonfire. History: The Shadowstalker has always been quirky and he happily likes to spread rumours that he was made this way because his parents were killed horribly. In all truth, his parents are happily alive and well, and he started talking and acting the way he did due to no fault of theirs. Some Sentinels like to whisper that he was dropped on to his head as a fledgling, but he stubbornly sticks to his tale of morbid trauma. Territory: He lives well outside of the Deepwoods area. His territory is small and he would probably have to fight Chirop keepers out of it since he lives near a very large batcave. (He says near, but he really wishes he could live IN the batcave) Mate: Moonfire Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Bat x3 (he's not very smart or creative) Species: Chirop Age: adolescent Speech Ability: 1 (he likes his solitude and requested Chirops with defective speech) Intelligence: 4 Skill: Mostly they follow The Shadowstalker around for the 'look', but they do help him scout out, using their excellent night vision to keep an eye out for anything unusual.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Korini Name: Christobel Nicknames: Bell, That crazy scout Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: January 13th Type: Wildtype Task: Scout Personality: Christobel is truthfully a sweet, considerate, somewhat opinionated Sentinel who will stick up for a complete stranger if it seems they're in trouble. But there's one problem: he talks to himself. All the time. He'll interrupt a conversation in order to jabber a side comment directed at thin air, which most other Sentinels find a little off-putting. The habit gets less frequent the more familiar he is with the one who's trying to talk to him, and presumably with enough coaxing he could actually carry on a normal dialogue with someone. He'd get a Companion to possibly improve his image, since it would instead look like he's talking to it instead of himself, but he has a nasty habit of eating any and all cute, fluffy animals he can get his talons around, excluding Companions that are visibly chaperoned by other Sentinels. No need to start a fight over something so trivial as devouring a Mus; he's polite, for the most part, and dislikes fighting. Arguing, that's alright, everyone does that, but the idea of physical conflict makes him very nervous. In spite of his not-so-inner monologue that pretty much discourages anyone from ever considering him as a partner, Christobel is a romantic that dreams of one day having a mate and a nest full of squeaky fluffball chicks. He often has long, detailed conversations with himself about it, thinking of all the things he must do to support his perfect family. This carries over into a general fondness for all little Sentinels (being a Minder would have been his job if the Minders hadn't thought he was a bit creepy since the start) and he's consistently found that the younger Sentinels are much more tolerant of his quirks, so most of those he can consider "friends" are small enough to be his children. This behavior worries the Minders, who fret that Christobel's weirdness will rub off on their charges. History: From the start, there was something funny about Christobel; his parents dumped his egg off with the Minders and thus he never met them, and rumor has it that he was addled a bit while still in the shell. The other fledglings at best ignored him, at worst teased him, and he spent most of his time playing alone. And talking to himself, shades of things to come. When adults spoke to him, he would just sit as still as a stone and not speak at all, unless he was required to answer a question. The Teachers either saw him as a respectful little sponge of information or a small, defiant disaster waiting to happen, while he merely creeped out his various Minders. Christobel's Will manifested a little earlier than normal, by the means of levitating a number of small pebbles and tossing them at a bunch of other youngsters who had been tormenting him. His Minder for the day, in a half-proud, half-afraid flurry, sent for a Mystic so Christobel could be evaluated to possibly join their ranks. Unfortunately for the Minder who'd hoped to be rid of the strange ball of fluff that was Christobel, the little fledgling just pulled his usual behavior with adults and, when addressed by the Mystic, just sat perfectly quiet and stared blankly into space. After an hour of that, the Mystic gave up and flew home, and all that really changed was that the other young Sentinels treated him a bit more cautiously than before. At his graduation, Christobel spoke on his own, in front of a crowd, for what had to be the first time; he gave a bizarre, disjointed speech that cast a pall over the rest of the event when it came time for him to declare his profession. Also, he chose to be a Scout. Nobody quite knows why, or cares to ask him, but it does give him a good excuse to ignore/quickly get away from Sentinels who try to talk to him in an unfriendly manner because of a SUPER SECRET SCOUT MISSION THAT CANNOT BE INTERRUPTED. He does spend a good amount of time hanging around the Minders' enclave, and occasionally strikes up conversations with the youngsters he recognizes as fellow outcasts. If he doesn't terrify them from the start, he's usually good at keeping up a friendship since little Sentinels are more apt to consider his odd habits amusing than disturbing. Territory: A gnarled dead oak tree and the small stretch of forest around it, (about four miles in a squiggly elliptical shape) somewhere outside the deeper woods. Christobel has hung skulls of various rodents and songbirds he's eaten on the more reachable branches as a ghastly assemblage of wind chimes. He fancies them to be charming. Mate: None. Companions: None, nobody will give him one. Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: ShinosBee Name: Edelweiss Nicknames: None Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult (might be getting towards middle-aged) Hatch Date: 12/25/20?? Type: Mist Task: Scout Personality: If one expects Edelweiss to adhere to the stereotypical combatant persona- commanding, brash and arrogant- one will be sadly mistaken. He is, in fact, quite the opposite- a shy, thoughtful, introspective male more concerned with the wellbeing of his friends and family than with his appearance or his rank. This being said, Edelweiss is well-aware of his position, and the possibility of changes being made to it. He refuses to tolerate insubordination or dissension in the ranks, and will deal with any rebels in the least pleasant way he is allowed to. He will take no guff from anyone or anything, though he does highly respect the opinions and emotions of the males and females who fly alongside him. Outside his inner circle of trust- a place occupied only by his friends, fellow scouts, and his one-day mate- he is a quiet individual, rarely speaking and even more rarely stating his opinion on controversial subjects. He is more the type to sit back and watch a situation than to plunge heedlessly in. He relies more on logic and facts than on emotions to make his decisions; he is quite the analytical thinker and has been known to sit in silence for hours, thinking up ways out of every situation likely or unlikely to occur. For most of his life, he has been leery of females- not so much 'afraid' of them as 'careful around them'- and this unease shows no signs of letting up in the near future barring drastic change. History: Nothing of great interest. Family is mostly alive, living in various areas of the forest. His job was obtained the usual way, same old same old. Territory: He lives in a quiet patch of spruces and pines, just inside the canyon in the Above the Above mountains where the Sparkle river travels. Few live around, and thus his territory is a little spread out. He doesn't mind though, and is happy there. Mate: None Companions: No Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Vooma Name: Snowfall Nicknames: Snow, Snowflake (a name to annoy her with) Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: December 10th Type: Shadow Task: Scout Personality: Snow is solitary and has a somewhat individualistic nature, but can be outgoing if her mood is fair. Taking much pride in being a scout she is always on the move no matter how foul the weather, scanning every detail and noting even the slightest changes. Though she will act most courageous and show little fear in many things, her heart will melt when she sets her gaze on the large peepers of a hatchling. Oftentimes she will take opportunities to aid minders with the caring and watching of them, but will never admit that she is attracted to them. When off duty Snowfall likes to go fishing, hence why she chose to live beside a river. She prefers her fish fresh and avoids ever having leftovers, but has no preference with other foods and will occasionally store small prey upon high brambles where the cold will preserve them for later. History: Since she was a fledgling Snow has had a fondness for exploring and lust for adventure that has stuck with her through maturity, thus the reason she became a scout. With no siblings she was a single chick, thus stayed with her parents till death did them part. They named her Snowflake to go with her fascination of snow, as when she was little she would often sit and be mesmerized with the falling flakes, something about them being very calming and mystical for her. And when the time came for her first successful flight, the first snow of the winter was falling. Territory: At the edge of Cold Forest, where the swift cold river flows. There grows a triangular growth of two spruces and a birch tree; the two conifers growing against each other with a smaller/stumpy tree growing beside them due mid center. Fastened to a broken branch on the smallest tree is a reptile's skull which marks it as her territory. Hollowed deep into the center of the largest spruce is the hole, which is where she usually resides. Mate: None Companions: None Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Aurrie Beaues Name: Osprey Nicknames: Ossie Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 29/02/2008 Type: Mist Task: Scout Personality: Osprey has what might seem to be an unquenchable thirst for competition. The young scout has difficulty in shying away from any chance to prove herself and her worth to both herself and to her clan. Beneath her gray and white feathers, she still feels that she has to show both Songbloom and Twistumbler that she can and will be a valuable asset to the forest, although she has already shown both her minder and her nest mate that she could survive Breeze's lessons and achieve the task of scout. Fortunately, she has no qualms in approaching other sentinels, despite her fear of being seen as weak or lazy.
She is still bubbling with curiosity and there are times where word vomit seems to spill from her beak like water from a river, though fortunately those times are becoming fewer and far between. Madame Breeze has done well to mold and shape this sentinel from the naive, chatty youngster she had been when she arrived on the teaching platforms. History: Osprey's history is nothing out of the ordinary, which plagued her while she was young, but she grew to consider it fortunate. The pair of mist sentinels who had Osprey and dropped her off at the enclave are completely unknown to her, not that it matters much. The headstrong female could care less who her blood parents were, as the clan as a whole raised her. She was rotated from minder to minder, but spent the majority of her time at the main enclave with Twistumbler, so she does feel a bit more close to him than other minders, but gives them all equal respect.
The rest of her fledglinghood was spent in the territory of Breeze, an intimidating ghost teacher who taught both she and her friend Hollyhock well. It had been a rough period of time for the fledgling, but she held her teacher in highest regards and continues to do so to this night.
After graduation, Ossie received her first much sought after companion, a mus. Although the little companions were common, she was thrilled. Something about the cute little creature won her over almost immediately. She plans on finding another companion to aid her, although it will be a tough task. She wants to train an alcyon to help her hunt and scout, though they are far from a companion of convenience. Territory: She has yet to establish one, as she is still young and just straying from both her teacher and the enclave. She is searching for one near the rivers, yet a comfortable distance from the Deep Woods. Mate: None Companions: Mus Certificate:
Part II – Companions
Name: Mus Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 4 Intelligence: 5 Skill: She is a charming and well mannered young mus who serves as an extra set of eyes, ears, and paws for Osprey and also a nice friend to chat with when on her own.

Player: Mirokarosu Name: Emerila (eh-mer-rye-la) Nicknames: Ila Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: September 6 Type: Ghost Task: Scout Personality: Emerila is a Scout, but she finds a hobby in the arts. Why else would she seek out the Mystics for her 'stylish' amethyst eyes? Not to mention, her obscure yet fashionable mismatching ear tufts. She's not a vain character, but she does have an urge to throw in some artistic flair in anything she's working on. Ila is also rather expressive in her movements, as she also has taken a liking to 'dance'. She loves to fly in her spare time, experimenting different ways to curve, bank and spiral. Ila enjoys other Sentinels as company, showing off her new moves, and sometimes rather ostentatious. It doesn't take long for her to chat up a storm. She enjoys a good gathering, but gets distracted easily if in a large group mission. Ila takes her job quite seriously, and with her keen eyesight, she is one of the better Scouts (if she does say so herself!). History: There's really nothing special about Emerila's history. No, she's not some abandoned orphan with magical powers. She's also not some mysterious egg that came from nowhere. She is not part of any ancient prophecy that will lead her to become the saviour of the world. Ila had typical parents, and a typical life in the woods. Who says an average Sentinel can't have a good life? Territory: Ila has taken up a small, lush patch of woods in the forest. She has one main tree amidst all the others, and it has a hollow which she adorns with different little trinkets, such as feathers, leaves and pine cones. It is a short flight to the nearest lake, which she finds quite convenient. Mate: None. Companions: None. Certificate:

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Silencer Wolf Name: Silverbirch Nicknames: Bir, Birch Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 21/07/200? Type: Mist Task: Scout Personality: Silverbirch is generally a calm, carefree and easy-going sentinel. She tends to be more masculine in behavior or manner, and has the habit of being rather self-conscious around females due to past experiences during her days as a fledgling. Her gentle and friendly nature hides a certain toughness from her earlier days; she can and will fight when threatened, or when the situation calls for it. The most notable thing about Silverbirch is her love for speed and being a scout provides plenty of room for training and improvement. Silverbirch is also fond of youngsters, and upon her return from scouting she usually drops by the Minders enclave with a treat or two for the young ones. When not scouting the mist sentinel can often be found helping out the minders to keep an eye on the little ones. History: The youngest of a clutch of four eggs, Silverbirch was naturally turned over to the Minders, so she had no idea who her parents were. This did not bother her the slighest bit, and the little mist had a great time growing up in the Minder's enclave, despite the teasings about her tufts which were deemed too short, and ugly, for a female. For this she was mostly ignored by the girls. Not the one to mope around and feel sorry for herself, Silverbirch instead found good company with the boys and grew up rough and tough, braver than even the boys themselves, yet sensible enough not to fly head on into danger. As she grew Silverbirch became physically stronger. She has also discovered a fascination for speed, and has since trained hard to be one of the fastest in Noctua, and it was hardly a surprise when she choose to be a scout upon graduation. Around the same time, Silverbirch got herself a mus to keep her company during her long and often lonely scouting trips. Territory: Silverbirch loves wandering, and though she claims she is currently looking for a territory of her own if asked, she really has no intention to do so at all. Mate: none Companions: Only one Certificate:
Part II - Companions
Name: Feathers Species: Mus Age: Young Speech Ability: 2 Intelligence: 4 Skill: Feathers was chosen for his dexterity as well as intelligence in case there is a need to repair broken feathers when out on scouting trips. Usually he is just there keep Silverbirch company and to keep a lookout for prey item and anything of interest. He also acts as Birch's timekeeper.

Part I - The Sentinel
Player: Dark_Musashi Name: Ashton Nicknames: Ash; Don’t-say-his-name-he-might-hear-us, Dammit-he’s-coming, and other similarly pejorative “nicknames”. Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult Hatch Date: 10/06/2008 Type: Wildtype Task: Scout Personality: First of all, Ashton is his mommy’s big boy. Amberglow is more important than everything else, and so far, he’s done his best to show her how much of a strong and brave Sentinel he was. As a Scout, he knows he will be able to show off how much of a good hunter and flier he has become. He’s the kind of guy who brags a bit too much about his skills. And even worse, he sincerely believes he is that good. If you talk about him, you take the risk he hears his name and interrupts the conversation. By the way, he has keen hearing.
He does not share exactly the same sense of danger as everyone else. He’s quite brave, and his secret dream is to kill single-handedly a badger, or anything as large, really. At least, he knows he can’t actively try to achieve that, or he might very well die, and he doesn’t want to make his family weep over the bloody mess. On the other hand, he finds the Ground rather scary. He thinks Gatherers (and such) are even braver Sentinels than him. Or suicidal, both work. It has to do with an almost-encounter with foxes while looking for berries. The Canopy is far less frightening.
Ashton views himself as a knight in shining armour, and unless it’s an obvious waste of his skills, he will answer to any distress call. The only flaw he acknowledges is his behaviour when cornered: he knows that if he causes trouble, he will blame anyone in order not to be suspected, especially loved ones. He can’t help it, he just can’t accept he can and will make mistakes like everyone else. To avoid that, he stays away from authority. This way, nobody asks him why he did wrong whatever he did, and nobody gets accused either, fair game.
Also, a night without a good fight (involving prey or other Sentinels) is not a good night. His definition of a “good fight” being “any fight he starts, or ends in a way he judges badass”, it’s no wonder he spends most of his days hunting medium-sized game. While secretly hoping he can kick a badger’s a** on the way.
History: Ashton has got a brother (Dustwing) and a sister (Brook) who he has never met because their parents couldn’t take care of them all properly. Amberglow and Mapleclaw were a happy couple until the Hunter left the Apothecary alone with the fledglings. The mother, who apparently received no explanation, didn’t take it well. Ashton didn’t either.
With a mostly absent father, he had already decided to take care of his family in his place. But now he was gone for good, Ash grew hostile feelings towards him. He never wanted to know where he went, but if he were to meet him, boy, he’d have a lot of things to say. He solemnly swore he would never inflict the same fate to his mate.
However, despite his unofficial status as the nest’s big boy, he was known to be hyperactive and random. Much trouble was caused, but nothing worse than the time he played with his mother’s scented products and smelled for days afterwards, thank Noctus. He had to admit he had personality flaws after blaming unsuccessfully his brother for the mess. He’d never considered him smarter or stronger than him, but it was largely undeserved. What possessed him to behave so shamefully, in front of a Mystic, at that! He still does his best to forget this embarrassing part of the tale.
Ashton has worked a lot to improve his flight. The late training was very efficient, but as a result, he might have neglected his Will, which is not very refined. Who cares? He’s not an Artisan; he doesn’t want to tie knots or paint stuff!
Territory: Being a Scout, Ashton has hardly got anything he can call “territory” and sound serious while doing so. But he’s ready to put up a good fight if he falls in love with a specific location. Mate: None yet. Companions: None yet. Certificate:
