Arc, did you know that in the original GS, the gender of a pokemon was determined by its attack IV's. If its IV's were in the lower half of the scale, they were female. So it was impossible to have a female with good IV's in attack unless it was a female only species. They done this so Pokemon from RBY could have genders when transfered. Seems kind of sexist to me.
