Twain: The position of my head joint changes constantly during band class; it's pretty much impossible for me to [lately] find a good spot, and even then, whenever we have a rest and the flute has to come down, I can't find it again. Ugh! My flute's fairly old as well (since fourth grade, and now I'm in ninth, so that's about six years) and was poorly treated in the first few years I was playing, so...blah. Although, it's always had a problem with a loose footjoint, as it would fall off during concerts way back in the fourth grade. Ewie. Hopefully, I'll be getting a newer one my senior year, so many years from now...
My problem isn't the head joint, that just gives me problems with tuning. As for how I've treated it, it's only been dropped once. And I cried when it was. I treat my flute very well. It's just the stupid foot joint, and it won't stay securly. I remember this year I was running to the back of the practice field with it because A line doesn't march, and the foot joint flew off. I nearly screamed. sweatdrop

that sucks. I guess the good thing about trying out is that you don't have to worry about a crappy band.... unlike our band where I was the only piccolo (and out of the entire flute section which includes piccolos) that knew how to play the music. so sectionals were really boring for me because we played easy music that everyone kept messing up on.

We get plenty of kids in our band...but we play too much pep band for some kids...they go to Orchestra(which is SOOOO less fun. XD)
Pep band rocks. Plain and simple.
...Oh, flutes too. XD
Especially flute girls!!! ...I mean, most are girls but any girl that can play a flute(I've learned this through experience XD)
A) Is a good kisser
B) Knows what she wants from her flute
...don't take that the wrong way! lol

what is difference between a piccolo and flute. i know it is probably a stupid question but anyways i know the difference.
