Jacob sighed, he was wracking his brain trying to come up with a better idea of what was going on. All of this was so new to him. He decided it would be best if he was quiet for now and saved the questions for later.

Joe realized a moment later that the Djinni's lack of response was not absence - it was indifference. The Djinni were not concerned with the Cabal. Only the Sages and the Sage off to his side.

--

"Do you normally make such demands when violating the Blademaster's noncombat laws?" the swordsman asked.

--

"Say nothing of the van of children," Renard's biomantically stimulated voice commanded the warlocks and hunters. He offered no explanation.

"The v-"
Joe was caught completely off-guard and nearly let it slip. He smoothly turned it into a cough.
Realizing what he did about the Djinni, Joe shrugged. He was after Legion, after all.
He'd have to sit down and have a nice chitchat with his Patron as soon as he could.

((Paul: I know, I know! sweatdrop I've been making that mistake for years now.
Joe: Do you still have that girlfriend? xd
All: Um... Siber kind of has a strength (theatrical, in the char sheet) in displaying his "poker" or "I'm interested" or "get off my case" faces. People looking at him won't see internal debate unless they're psychic. Or delusional. But I suppose characters may have projected themselves psychologically onto Siber, seeing his wariness, and assumed it was from the turn in/don't turn in Samuel conflict, since they also were having such a conflict. That's probably what happened. 3nodding Shouldn't have said anything. biggrin ))

Siber stifled the urge to hiss with a venomous sting at Paul when he first heard the admission. Once the proposition had been made, though, it kind of made sense. Except that Legion would never actually fight Abaddon, not without Josh to take hits for him, and nor would he respond to any sort of hostage situation. He wasn't that kind of... thing. So an alliance based on this would do nothing but take out a few Warlocks, which was still not such a huge blow to Legion. He backed away, nodding in contemplation of the plan as he thought.
Keldan did hiss.
Siber could feel the similarity in this kind of venom to the kind with which Keldan regard Gurul. People, he thought disgustedly.

Keldan seethed. He sighed, and Siber could imagine the man rubbing his eyelids tiredly.

He turned to the newcomers and the screen with the eye, then heard the fly buzz and whipped his head around, glad for an excuse to fall back into his more flighty character. He didn't see anything.

Sam watched the exchange intently, the blood pumping through his veins and in his ears. As Joe took the "hostage" towards the main group, he followed at an increasingly great distance, then saw Paul's lips moving, but heard nothing. That was new.
he grinned to Gurul alone.
in cognito?>

((Har har. Yes, I do. It's been over a year now. sweatdrop ))

Joe looked back and forth, in case the fighting should restart.

((Whoops, left the rest of Samuel out))

Sam lowered his sword, keeping it down as the others finally entered, and watched silently. There was no need to get involved at this stage.

((Now, looking at all this OoC, the 130 pages of Cabal makes so much sense. xd ))

((Jacob: Good man. xp
Siber: It is, because that is my solution to most everything. ninja
Venom: Indeed. I was just thinking the same.
Let's move the story, please. Venom, just, like, make us go.

Rocks fall. Everyone dies.

Okay, not really.

--

After a short stretch of banter during which a temporary alliance between the warlocks/hunters and Fyrin, his flunkies, Renard, and Gennady, the late-arriving demon, was forged, and the warlocks, hunters, and demons moved to board their plane while the satyr and the shadow demon left....

--

The pink ferrari screeched as it braked violently in the parking lot. Takeshi, Agnese, and Keilven got out, locked the doors, and went inside. The mundane human forces ushered them onto the otherwise-empty plane after the main group.

On the plane, Joe shifted uneasily, not quite sure of the sturdiness of their alliance.
To keep his mind off it, he turned to Siber. "Hey. Kid." He ruffled his hair playfully. "What do you always mumble about? Like, you know, when you fight?"

Siber got on the plane, wondering exactly who was flying and how the various airlines would recover from the massive drop in customers for the day. He was unsettled, to say the least, about how many people were on this plane, even given the tremendous number of spaces for everyone to lounge on. It was actually fairly relaxing, physically. He looked over at an old lady on the side and grinned at her. Two had decided that they needed to get home damn. it. and God help anyone who got in their way. One looked like she was from Charleston and both were gripping their purses as they frowned angrily at the other passengers. That is, until one saw Siber looking at her. Then, she turned up her nose, hmphed, and was distracted by something behind her eyelids that caused her to go to sleep from boredom.
He twitched at the name, "Kid," and leaned away from the hair-ruffling behavior. "Mumbling? You have me confused with a mumbler." He looked purposefully over at the old lady. "I don't mumble, except for various personal reasons."
