Urby - I feel your pain. gonk This past Christmas was the first year I wasn't on mine, and I've had it every year on my birthday - and every time my friends and I want to go on a roadtrip. Pretty much any big event, actually...it's irritating as all hell. *hugsandlove*



I can't decide if I'm happy he won't be there when I get there tomorrow, or if I'm unhappy about it. And sheesh, parking is two bucks? It's only one here. Damn. Guess it's a good thing we had to get refunds for our tickets the other night, or else I wouldn't have any dollar bills.

Y'know, I had forgotten that the Ranma dub actually wasn't bad.

Come to think of it, a lot of those older dubbed shows weren't too bad.

the only reason the original pill had the placebo (and therefore period) week was so that the pope might go along with it and not forbid catholics from using it - since it didn't "mess with" a woman's natural cycle, or at least gave the appearance of not messing with it. after all, the period was still there, right? so what's the problem here, officer?

the catholic church wasn't buyin', though, obviously.

anyway, my point, and i do have one, is that if it wasn't for that (ultimately futile) attempt at placating the catholics, no BC pills would have the period built in at all, and this wouldn't even be a discussion. or it would have been one, 40 years ago.

from what i've heard from women who do skip their periods by means of the pill, the main problem seems to be that it isn't reliably 100% period-free - there's spotting, or when they go back off it they get a long period or have irregular ones for a while (although the latter is true of women who go off the pill after being on it a long time even WITHOUT skipping periods). these women are not getting in trouble with their doctors, just their drycleaners.
