She froze, "You're not leaving me, are you?" Her voice was quiet, barely a thread. She felt a terrible wrenching in her heart, like it was being twisted out, just at the idea of him leaving her.

Valzar felt his breath ripped from his lungs. It took him a moment to realize it was Callista's emotions he was experiencing. "No," he said softly. "No, I couldn't leave you. Breath again, Callista, for both of us..."

She hadn't realized she was holding her breath until he said so. Slowly she exhaled and took in more air. "There isn't anything else to do..."

He sighed, "You are certain I am your lifemate?" It was a foolish question, he knew in his heart and soul that this woman was made for him. The simple fact that he would want to claim a female made her something beyond special.
