((Oh, that's good; I made a lot of memory loss in there, but I think I fixed it, finally; I've been working on this one post for way too long. >> Tell me if you remember some interaction I haven't managed to track down in which names and intents were exchanged between Hunters and these VladimirJamesFyrinRenardMarco people.))

((Well, Siber did communicate with Renard. Renard talked to Fyrin, who never did mention the name, but since Renard's presumably coming with Fyrin, (VenomfortheloveofallthatisgoodandholypostforRenardandforthosedangdemonswhoweresupposedtobebackingupVladandJames) Renard ought to recognize Siber. If that doesn't work out... well, you'll have to fight Fyrin. If it does work out... well, I have some more character development ideas.))
Vlad shrugged, turned the knife point towards him, slapped the handle into Siber's hand, took several steps back, and did nothing more but return his hand to the air. His other knife was discarded back by the pillar, too far for him to get to quickly. Vlad's only weapon now was his magical prowess, which he hadn't show himself too eager to use without the assault rifle that Paul was now holding.
Then in his mind (or his soul) Vlad heard Fyrin's voice. Fyrin had decided to strengthen the connection to the point of communication. That might be dangerous; it might be tracked. But who by?
Gentleman here claims to know you. Says there was an enemy-of-my-enemy thing going on.
I'll ask.
"You," Vlad demanded, addressing Siber. "You helped with the kids?"

((Yeah, that was my problem; I started to post all this, 'Oh, no, they hate Legion, they'll kill Sam, then I realized Siber didn't know that, so I was about to post a bunch of lies Siber needed to tell to get himself out of his bluff, then I finally hit on what I ended up doing.))
Deus ex machina! Siber's knives disappeared into his clothes and he started his evasive tactics, but Vladimir beat him to it. "Yes, me!" He responded to the address. "I did, in fact, help with the kids; at the time, I was dressed in green." How Vladimir had gotten the information was up in the air. Maybe he was psychic. "To be specific, I kept them from tumbling to their deaths from a van. You're with that group, then? Why would you come to kill us?" He put a hand on his chest as though he were hurt emotionally. The hand was finally a more fleshy color, if it did seem leprous in some places. Thank you, Anaeris. You are out of time for me. Farewell, she breathed, and left this plane.

He says so. Says he was wearing green.
"Fyrin believes you for now," Vlad informed Siber. He listened to Siber's question, then returned to Fyrin.
They don't know we're hunting Legion. Should I-?
Very well, Vlad responded.
"We tried to kill you because we believed you were aiding Legion to escape. Our whole purpose here is to kill him. We've been trying to prevent any Warlocks from escaping so that we might learn where he is. As far as I know, we still intend to find out," Vlad added. For a moment Siber thought that the left side of the skeleton's mouth was twisting up into a wry expression. "Can you help us?"

So he was psychic. Cool.
The breath caught in Siber's throat and he felt his face muscles twitch. Sam. "You're hunting Legion?" he covered quickly. "That's admirable. I, too, would be very happy if Legion were dead. As for his whereabouts, I really can't help you. He was fighting Abaddon, wore down Abaddon's avatar's defenses, and vanished. We lost focus on him in light of Abaddon's, you know... attempt to kill everything, as far as I can tell." Sell out Sam or not? Take out a Warlock, complete the Rusalka's vengeance, and kill Keldan's greatest rival all in one fell swoop.
There were no downsides. He had a chance to kill Gurul. Samuel's loyalties shifted quickly enough to make him a dangerous enemy, and the chances of forming an alliance were slim to none. Still... Samuel had so far exhibited a level of maturity much higher than the others involved. In addition, Joe and Paul both had shown a hyper-extended sense of loyalty and would not be pleased with him, but also, Sam had recently tried to kill Joe. he muttered to Keldan. Keldan pleaded, sounding desperate. Decisions, decisions. If he sold out Sam, he effectively sold out the rest. It would be a huge blow to Legion. But he, personally, held no grudge against the rest of these people. In the end, he decided he couldn't stand to give up the names of all those Warlocks, which he would surely be forced to do if he gave out one via simple logic.
Sam kept his gaze on James, but listened to the conversation with total concentration. Siber might sell him out at any moment, and the chances of him getting away were slim to none. There were no hostages, but he could run this guy in front of him through with the sword and probably skip out before reinforcements arrived.

Paul thought. Paul thought very hard. Sam was in the Cabal. Fyrin was hunting Legion, but... would he hurt Sam to get to Legion? Sam couldn't possibly know either. None of them knew. Could he? Could they convince Fyrin to sign on to the plan to kill Abaddon long enough to turn on Legion and destroy him? Another four men, armed with powerful weapons and fighting experience... they would be an asset, that was for sure. Could they be convinced? The truth... the truth would be best and Siber hadn't told the whole truth. Perhaps Paul should... should he?
Siber seemed in thought too, however deeply he was trying to cover the fact; what he was thinking was totally unclear, though. What decision was he trying to make? Paul had no idea. It had no bearing. He had come to a decision.
"We engaged with Legion in a cease-fire. Alone we could not defeat Abaddon's avatar. This doesn't change the fact we have no idea where he is, but... it does..." Paul lowered his voice. Samuel, further down the way, could not hear what Paul was about to say. "It does present you with an opportunity," he stated simply.
---
Vlad jerked back in surprise one moment, then leaned forward in understanding the next. This man... he might not speak for his compatriots, but what he was saying was that if Fyrin could be convinced... he could join the band, get Abaddon weakened... then turn on Legion. Kill him as he needed to.
Fyrin, they have a plan.
Then... what do you think?
Should I tell them? <...no, I will do that myself. There must be a reason that man lowered his voice. Perhaps one of them is not your friend.> Which one?
Should we not follow them?
Very well.
Vlad went back to Paul. "We will... think upon it."

Joe came back, escorting James, to the area where everyone was. He was in time to catch the exchange. "Hunting Legion? I'm all for that." He paused. Oh wait a sec. Umm...Patron? Sir/Ma'am, Master/Mistress, Lord/Lady, whatever. I do want Legion dead, yeah? As he waited for a response, he glanced at Siber and realized the internal debate in an instant. Now came Joe's turn to think. He didn't hear Paul, but that didn't change his situation. Sma had tried to kill him. Sam had insulted him. Sam had helped an enemy with a much higher level of experience as he tried to eradicate Joe. True, Joe had insulted and attacked Sam as well, but he had been provoked. Well, except for the time that Joe had knocked him out in order to escape the Cabal and join the Hunters. There was that. But still, Sam was currently his most pressing opponent (other than the ever-impending Helmsborough.) He raised his hand slightly, then found himself stopping in mid-motion. After all, Joe was going to be the one to beat Sam. He didn't raise his hand or say anything.

Jacob sighed, he was disappointed that he couldn't do anything effective to help the others. Once things seemed to calm down, he emerged from behind the desk to join the others, the 9mm still in his hands, "So, what's happening now?" he asked, walking over to Joe. He paused for a moment, at the mention of Legion. Are they talking about the Legion I think they are? You can't be serious...Legion's real? I thought it was just some story.
That can't be good at all, and I take it he's everything you'd expect from a guy possessed with innumerable demons?
Great.

Joe, glancing over and seeing the gun, grabbed it and put it next to the other. "These guys...well, skeletons, really, have declared a ceasefire with our friend Siber. Of course, I agree." Joe grinned. "Seems like was have a common enemy with them."

((No prob, Venom.
I'll be leaving sooner or later, and when I do I won't be back 'till tomorrow in all probability.
This prediction almost assures the fact that I will come back.
And that one negates that.
It's an infinite loop! gonk
Ha, what a great boyfriend you are, Joe. wink
I'm going to wait for Venom to do his editing before I advance the storyline - I wanna see what he does.))

((Better idea. New post.
And Siber, the poison is nonmagical, meaning that once it already exists it will not create any magical signature.))
Fyrin entered the door, Renard behind him. Behind them followed the satyr-demon and a churning ball of shadow. The human soldiers trained their guns on them. The monitor of a computer behind them flickered, displaying a human eye on its screen.
Siber - only Siber - noticed a fly buzzing nearby. Something had drawn his attention to the otherwise unremarkable creature.
The suited swordsman leveled his blade at the newcomers. "You'd best have a damn good reason for being here - and you'd better be paying for this damage - or the Blademaster will hear about your actions. After we kill you." The SAW was conspicuously pointed at the newcomers. The swordsman had a look that implied he could take out all the 'prisoners' in the space of a second without blinking.

Fyrin cocked his head. "I was under the impression that the warlocks were negotiating some sort of peace agreement. Was I mistaken? Did I come to fight? I certainly hope not." His calm and quiet speech seemed to match the swordsman's confidence. "If we are to negotiate such a peace deal, however, I must ask that my men are returned their weapons. I will stand accountable for what they do, as they are my creations." He looked expectantly at the human soldiers.
---
Paul glared back at Fyrin. Something wasn't right. His train of thought wasn't moving properly. He attempted to re-summon the mental dome in which he had seen Robert, but it was as though the signal was fuzzy. He caught a glimpse of it, but... nothing substantial.

Joe stepped forward a bit. "Hey now, let's all chill, OK? I think the fighting is over for now."
