aria di luce redentrice you don't have to move in the direction of each layer. each layer contradicts another layer since this isn't a projectile, the sword maintains the momentum of the first layer all the way into the last. You don't need to react to any of them really, as the halves of a diagonal force will contradict each other. as the first layer sweeps it in direction 1, it is still going towards your character in direction 0. then, when it reaches direction 2, it is negated according to Y axle of direction 1, plus the Y axle of direction 2, and the x axle of direction one plus the x axle of direction two simultaneously. this continues to add the y and x directions in until you get to the core. either they contradict each other with a negative component in each circle, or all of the values add positive, and the sword can be used to slash with added force. || Dark Crystarium || Without the Darkness...
Who said that the barrier's layers were straight on top of each other? In any case, there are at least 50 layers, and this would weaken the force of the blow a great amount considering the power of the winds that Luka is generating.
Also, what the heck do you mean by all this direction and x and y stuff. SPEAK ENGLISH. I don't do advanced physics like you. I haven't gone anywhere near directions and such with force except with newtons and we don't do anything on wind in our subject. More like stuff like energy, electromagnetism, special relativity and waves.

there is no better way to describe it. I am saying that with 50 layers, without susan being inside half of them, they would self negate a non projectile, or by seeing them all simultaneously she could use it to her advantage. your shield would be unparalleled against a projectile... but since a swords kesena (point, as she is stabbing) is highly aerodynamic, and the flat edge can only be effected by the spherical current, there is no way air could be used in this fashion to block a blade unless it the shield/air could not be seen. they have to be close enough together to not constitute an auto hit on susan, and so my physics will still be pretty accurate.

I am creating a defensive strategy. What the ******** is this s**t about self-negating. Example, cyclone-strength wind going right in front of a layer of wind of cyclone strength going layer in front of a layer of cyclone strength wind going in the direction of the first two layers. This would either a) Block the blade or b) Fling the blade out of Susan's hands considering the strength of the winds IS CYCLONE STRENGTH! WHICH IS STRONG I MIGHT ADD! Doesn't matter how aerodynamic it is, it means s**t against cyclonic winds

have you ever done wind tunnel testing? at cyclone speed you're not going to do what you think you are. We have a wind tunnel machine, capable of about 900 mp/h winds (given, there was limited thrusting room, and we were mostly testing modern metals), and no.... aerodynamic is aerodynamic. air isn't electromagnetism, it's not a force on its own, it is an applied force to low mass particles. Air velocity isn't actually a hard force, and you'd be tired from beating that machine....and you still wouldn't achieve what you think you would. you would get close, but you're doing it wrong. (and no, you wouldn't be able to swing a sword in that, but i've gone up to 270, and it'd work fine there with her level of fitness....plus she only needs a few inches. )
are you using the slang term? because otherwise a cyclone is a low pressure system.
and it is self negating for blades.
and what about says the guy? what did i say wrong?

In all honesty I know a blade cuts through air even at these speeds (which is what aria is saying) with having it alternating it pushes the sword a little one way then back when it hits the next layer but as far as I know it would be a negligible amount. Wind = bad defense for direct melee attacks but good defense against ranged attacks.
If i am wrong I am wrong but that is what my prior knowledge tells me. Also sometimes I learn so much here.
