Shoujo Phoenix Next time you decide to condescend to everyone in here, I suggest you pack up and get the ******** out. Act like a child and I'll treat you like one. I don't do empty threats, so either respond to me intelligently or ban me from public posting.

See? This is silly. Step back and laugh at the absurdity, then fix things. It really is that easy.

TweedleKeys I think at this point there are multiple grieved parties over multiple issues. Mistakes were made by everyone. While people have intimated this, I'm only seeing people either leaving or threatening to leave over a single specific incident, or re-occurring issue as the case may be. We can only speculate until people actually come forward.Quote: This hasn't been all out personal attacking, but something more insidious and tricky to handle. I don't think any consensus, or even an agreement to disagree, has necessarily been reached on the issues you mention that I am privy to. There is a general lack of understanding all around at this point. Show me a lack of understanding. I see a lack of willingness to compromise and a lack of intestinal fortitude to see it through.Quote: This might be the way you talk to n00bs in the A/M/C but I don't really think using this tone, language or description towards people who are your guild-mates is really conducive to having an open discussion. :/ It's a pretty apt metaphor, really. It's an inappropriate response to be hurling insults and sarcasm at someone's back after they've left, instead of you know actually trying to fix the situation. All this "******** it, I'm done" rhetoric is baffling and depressing. There's a lot of ******** aggression being fired out around here when there doesn't need to be, so I'd much rather have it aimed at me where there won't be any more damage done.Quote: I certainly hope so and I do believe people are trying. We just need people back so we can open the discussion. Right.

Rae put it most eloquently, but what I saw was just another comment in a thread about guys, tongues and cigarettes. I don't see how her apologetic comments to you and explanation of how she saw things was 'baiting' you instead of trying to figure out what the issue was. I think there's a general lack of understanding of where people are coming from with what they write. However, yes, you are quite right, there is a lack of willingness to compromise. I hope you're wrong about people not being willing to see it through though. I hope instead people are stepping back to cool off before going on. If we want people to come forward, let's not make this any more difficult for them to do so.

TweedleKeys Well, I for one don't understand how Rachel's comment vilifies all men. Well like I said, the specific comment was not camel back breaking worthy, but it's the lead in that's important. There'd been several clashes between Stream and Rachel over other more obvious generalizations, and thus this was simply the tipping point. I'm the guy with the tongue piercing dating a woman with a tongue piercing who smokes, and I wasn't offended. Neither did I see anything really offensive in Stream's "Protip" response. It's just too much bad history in play.Quote: I hope you're wrong about people not being willing to see it through though. I hope instead people are stepping back to cool off before going on. Well yeah, me too but when I see one prominent member- the guild patriarch no less- walk out and set down the conditions for his permanent departure followed by two more long time members quitting and the captain throwing up her hands, s**t looks bad. Yeah, there's a good chance that the rest of us, especially the ones who slept through all this will want to put things back together again, but like I said, I want everyone back home and there's no reason we can't accomplish this. Battlestar Galactica Season 2, people.Quote: Instead of fostering anger, shouldn't we instead be fostering an open discussion? If we want people to come forward, let's not make this any more difficult for them to do so. Well Keys, I'm a known a*****e and troublemaker. It's required of me to stir the pot to get the rage out before you can do the whole healing thing. 'Sides, there's no one in this guild I could intimidate into shutting up if I tried.

... The hell ... I leave for a couple of hours and come back to this. gonk
I'm still a bit jet-lagged and shouldn't even attempt going through all that's been said so far. It's wishful thinking I know, but I'm going to go to bed with the hopes that this will work itself out without any need for drastic actions.
Please don't let this situation be the defining point of the New Year for the AG.

You guys... Quite of a few comments have already said a sit-down talk would be a good idea. Get things out and work things out.
Before anyone leaves out of anger, how about we get down to that? I haven't been here for long, but I have been backlogging- there've been arguements and fights and stuff, but you've all made it through it... confused Can we at least take a shot at this?
I haven't had a steady group of friends for so long, and when I joined here I was so happy. This guild not only contains my boyfriend and some of my best friends, but people I still want to get to know, and who I respect highly. I love you all and I don't want to see anyone leave.
