I know, but I'm amazed they accomplished that structure. I know only a few people whom have self control, patience, and such enough to work into something like that.
Half the time I can't even get it through people's heads that there are no guns in my midevil rp's, and most of them who want guns don't even want flintlocks like Quin has.
That said, with how well Alan and Mew seem to adapt to rp's of different rules and sorts, I'm surprised by how poorly they adapt to less structured enviorments like mainstream, though perhaps with the added competitiveness it makes sense. I just really wish Rose wasn't so reserved about trying it, I believe she could do well if she tried.
EDIT: Incase someone will answer this for me; going into the stands of your own initiative doesn't constitute a ring-out or otherwise DQ, does it? Alchert might try and eat some of the spectators.

Quote: 3. Weapons must be light or small arms. (You must be able to carry the weapon on your own power. A weapon enhanced with supernatural abilities qualifies the fighter as supernatural) ..And this has any kind of purpose, where in the ******** now? O-o;Quote: 4. Usage of any questionable abilities or maneuvers are at the discretion of assigned judges. What the judge decides is 100% FINAL. Any dispute or argument afterwards is a breaking of the rules. ..So basically, if you disagree with a judge's ruling, you're boned eternally. ._.Quote: A grab is counted as an attack and must take two posts. Exception: A grab may be counted in a single post if contact is preexisting. A lock must be preceded by a grab, and consist of one extra post. Objects (arms, legs, weapons) break after 5 successful attacks to the same object, or 5 consecutive posts through which pressure is applied (to a joint or otherwise) with a lock. Ranged attacks must take an extra post to close distance with the projectile. (Arrows, Bullets, Fireballs...) Supernatural abilities (magic, psionics, telekinetics...) that involve attacking or strengthening an attack take one extra post to prepare before launching. Stipulation: A supernatural ability may be prepared for extra turns for an extra hit worth of damage, assuming the attack hits. .. I like how they try to apply a balance to all of these, but in general, it serves to rape how battles progress more than anything.Quote: Error Count: The maximum number of typos allowed in a line for that line to be valid. Anything more can be stated as invalid, declared as null. The term "royal" may be used to refer to a style with zero (0) errors allowed per line. No comment.Quote: If I, as a player, feel that my character has been treated unfairly or that another character has overstepped the bounds of their abilities, I will approach the other character's player privately and discuss the situation in a calm adult manner and try to come to a resolution or compromise. .. Fantasy Land. I also question why applicants for this have to leave every form of contact information possible - but give next to jackshit in information on their roleplaying, views on roleplaying, or.. well, anything about roleplaying period. O_o; I also wonder why they don't have the phpBB copyright intact, unless they managed to shell out the cash to get a license removal for it.
Mmph. I'm afraid I'm not too overly interested in this, unless something catches my eye.

Binatica rolleyes First of all, there is NO definitive way to use planar techniques or other rare high-tier magics/psionics, because EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT ******** SYSTEMS AND MECHANICS FOR THEM. I ******** laugh when people tell me I'm doing planar magic wrong. Second of all, "psionics" is entirely up to the interpretation of the RPer. Even to me, the difference between psionics and magic is mostly arbitrary. You are a hypocrite. talk2hand

Based on his first round match, my newest opponent seems to be a psionic of some kind. It will be my first time actually encountering one.

Grand Tournament... yeah... I'm not touching that.
Hell, I wasn't even touching this, and entered as a joke. Still is, mostly, if you notice how I've got a bunch of clowns and test characters running around. razz
Anyways, that thing. The rules they've set up simply serve to rape any semblance of balance in turn-basted RP; it seems that they're mostly geared towards speed chatroom s**t, which I have (were it possible) a negative level of interest in. Sorry, but I'm staying far away from that trainwreck.

Fire+Viper=bad
I'm wondering if I should show Vahn the GPD's guide to fighting Viper and living. It should be public IC knowledge.

You give Viper too much credit just because he's your own personal badguy.
Just because he's your nemesis doesn't mean that any of us are pissing our pants when his character drops in.

Well, not quite. See, I'm biased because I've only known the player for over half my life.

Yep. And he's your own personal nemesis. He's THE GUY for you.
Regardless of how good he is, putting his profile as 'a public service announcement to warn all Gaians' is going a little far.
Then again I'm a little biased because I've only been hearing people talk about Viper as some sort of archvillain since the first RP I joined.

Fyi Jello, I actually didn't gain the vast majority of my notoriety while Tacitus was commissioner of the GPD. In fact, we didn't even have contact until after that fact. All of my original fame I tendered from Bolt's GPD, and while I have and never will have anything against Tac's, there were some damn good RPers in those days.
And I invite people to read that post, as I always have, if they want to look for it. If Tac posts it here he will be beaten, harshly. The reason that is there is because of the IC knowledge of several different people who would have compiled it in various military organizations. That and the fact that too many people bitched that Viper was unbeatable.
