Scytheress

Dangerous Lover

PostPosted: Tue Dec 08, 2009 6:11 pm

Scytheress pushed open the door to the library carefully, making fully sure she wasn't about to knock someone over or make the ancient hinges creak. It wasn't because she wanted to make sure all the students within weren't disturbed by her entrance or her concern for the library's peace. It was out of fear. Horrible, deeply ingrained, petrifying fear. The first time the fox-elf had been in the library she'd been picking up a book on Elves, interested in the general background of part of her heritage. She'd been reading a passage on Elven Courtship when she came across a particular line. :As part of wooing female elves, the males will serenade them in the nude at seven minutes past midnight: Scythe knew that was total bull and stood up, loudly proclaiming so. Seemingly out of nowhere, a black shape loomed up behind the girl. The only things readily visible were two shining orbs of evil peering out from under what looked like a pair of ferrets on the person's face. Scytheress was about to run when she was hefted high into the air, wrapped in a backwards bear-hug as Gen (the librarian) began tottering toward the door. The fox had begun to kick and whimper as screaming was out of the question with the immense pressure being exerted on her chest and the relief of seeing the exit couldn't have come too soon as the librarian would obviously put her down and kick her out. Wrong! Gen barreled through the door and continued toward the campus hospital. Scytheress ignored the strange looks and giggles the student body gave her in their passing but continued to struggle. Finally they got to the infirmary where the evil, dastardly librarian had Scytheress strapped to a chair and sedated for "being completely out of control and in desperate need of medication." Scy lounged around the hospital doped up on various nerve medications before her lover at the time finally came looking for her and convinced the medical staff that she was mentally sound.

Now, Scytheress peered around the lip of the door, the white towel on her head now just wrapped around her neck to cover the brush-head stuck in her hair, and looked for the imposing black blob of a woman that was Gen the Librarian. The fox-elf spotted the giant seated behind her mighty desk on her mighty cushioned rolling desk chair of smiting. She was absorbed in book charts or some such so Scy took the chance to sneak off into the maze of book shelves. Just when she thought she was safe the gorilla looked up from her documents. "YOU NO ALLOWED IN HERE." Scytheress's heart immediately began pounding hard against her chest as if it was trying to escape the fate of being crushed inside her rib cage again and the girl herself scurried away. Gen came around from behind her mighty desk, gently tugging her mighty cushioned rolling desk chair of smiting from her tush, and gave chase to the red-tailed woman. Scythe zigged and zagged through the infinite rows of books but the Librarian always seemed to be right behind her. After all, it was Gen's home turf. The fox-elf was just running passed an empty aisle when a gargantuan hand shot out and wrapped its meaty fingers around her gorgeous tail.

"Oh please no, helpshdgd." Gen now had Scytheress back in the dreaded hug of doom. In grappling her, the librarian had knocked away the fluffy towel and saw the abomination in Scy's hair. Reaching up with her stubby fingers, Gen grabbed a hold of the brush-head and yanked away. It did the job of removing the problem but also took a chunk of hair with it and elicited a yeowl from the girl in her arms. "Silly girl can not even brush own hair. Ha." Scytheress, the proud mixed raced warrior, was almost in tears trying to get out of the grasp of the librarian before she was placed back in an induced mental coma.

Yamato is a generally weak guy. Being gazed down upon by the almost ancient doors of the library, he was almost positive about turning around and trying somewhere else. "Geh.. Who's idea was it to skip gym back then? Oh, right. Mine." Being indecicive was not a good quality. Putting his back pack down, he got back up and decided to go at it quickly. Pushing at only one of the doors, the gears and pullies loudly creaked, making his entrance not exactly grande, but grande enough for a couple of people to turn and look. Ignoring them, he picked his bag up and tailed his way to the map. The sounds of the door creaking repeatedly played over again in his head. The library shelves were stacked up high, and people were buzzing around quietly down below. It was nice, almost normal. Looking up, of course there were one or two people floating, or flying. "Just... ignore it." Finding the map was a piece of cake, of course. It was almost the size of the doors. Running down the letters from A, skipping lines to N and finally running down to M... MU...MUS...MUSICAL PLAYS... MUSICAL PIECES. SECTION 3 28A.

Yamato's only problem, was finding this "28A", and from there trying to find classical cello scores. In any library, it was hard to find cello scores. Of course, there was always the option of asking the librarian. Looking over near the help desk he saw the woman struggling a bit. Not exactly struggling, perhaps playing with another female. Fearing any further excitement, he turned his head away quickly and decended the stairs to the 3rd floor. Almost at the second floor, he heard a sharp yeowl. The image of the two not-so-normal girls going at one another rushed it's way back into his head. "I am... NOT into that kind of stuff. Please, no." Reaching into his pocket, he jammed his headphones back into his ears and set the volume to semi-loud.

Finally, reaching the 3rd floor, he quicked his pace and made his way to the 28th shelve, and found row "A". Very long, it was. Yamato took his time, as he didn't have any classes for the rest of the day. Peeking into the every other odd book, musicians who he had never even heard of before, of instruments that were unknown to the outside world. Pieces long and short, quartets, trios duets and solos. Finding something new, interesting, was something that brought great pleasure onto him. After twenty minutes or so of looking through the broad spectrum of books, he finaly came across a very, very familiar piece. Bach's cello suite No.1, the Prelude! Of course, he already had this score. Still, he cracked it open. It was thicker than usual, and he noticed right off the bat that there were more notes than there should. Extremely surprised, he flipped through all of the pages. It was, for starters, three pages longer! Also, there were random, or what he thought to be random, notes scattered through out the piece. Intruiged, he kneeled down, back against the books, pulled out a notepad, a pencil, and slowly started analyzing the piece.

Iraina walked through the library, passing through rows and rows of books, looking for a particular section. She was ignoring the stares of men ogling her. Teh. Idiots, she thought.

"History, history....where is the history section?" The Amazon asked herself, until she found what she was looking for. "Ah! here it is."

Rainy was fliipping through books, looking for a subject in particular. "Let's see, "Ancient Empires of the World", "Mysterious Places of Different Worlds" and...hm, Battle Styles of the Ancients"?" These sound like interesting titiles," she said as she took all three books, placed them under her arm, and carried them to a small table to read. As she looked through, Iraina thought to herself:

Wow, these seem like places I may want to visit. And some of these fighting styles look awsome!

Rainy was trapped in her own little world, lost in books.

Ty, quite literally, fell from the sky.

A brief flash, and he was floating above one of the Library's tables. "Oh no, oh no ohnoohnoohnooooo.....!" he cried, seeing the table briefly, as though time had frozen, and knowing full well what came next. And, like that, the frozen moment was over and he fell through the air toward the table. Wildly waving his arms, he landed, astoundingly catlike, on the table. To his complete and utter surprise, it didn't break. It did, however, make a large THUD, echoing out through the almost silent archive and breaking the concentration of several nearby readers.
"SSH!" came a voice from within the endless maze of books.
He slid off the table and stood, looking around. "Sorry," Ty whispered in the general direction of where he had heard the noise. Brushing his blond hair from his eyes, he looked about, yellow eyes taking in his surroundings and an expression of slight disorientation plastered on his face.
Where is it I am this time? he wondered to himself, hiding the fact that he was utterly lost

After a while of reading, Iraina had a sudden thought.

Oh wait! I also want to hone my singing and piano skills! Let me go find the music section.

As Iraina was looking to find the music section, she was lost. She saw that the librarian was busy with somebody, so she decided to ask someone else. As Rainy walked past, she noticed a boy with sheet music all over the table. Maybe he can help me.

"Excuse me, sir," Iraina asked the boy. "Can you tell me where the music section is"?

Fly's through the night airon my staff, with my long cloak blowing behind me. See's a building below me in the darkness. Land's on the roof. The moment my foot touches the roof i instantly know which building im on. "Ria high school's library...nice. I think i'll like it here. I am a student here afterall, even though i haven't been here for soo long." Smile's revealing a pointed fang. Touches it with my finger. "I wonder who'se blood will taste the best..."

[Spazz edit; Please do not RP in the first person. Use third. Type out full sentences every time (meaning don't put "Smiles revealing a pointed fang." It should be "He smiles, revealing a pointed fang." with complete sentences). Also, remember to capitalize all I's.]

Scribbling, scribbling...

Yamato had been jotting down some of the details from the piece he had with him. He wasn't taking it with him yet, because he had not yet gotten his library card. It didn't really matter, he needed something to do to pass time at that moment.

"Excuse me, sir, can you tell me where the music section is?"

Yamato, slightly startled, looked up. "Oh, damn. She's talking to me." He had made a quick assesment of her. He doesn't really care, but he was glad that she was, at least, human looking. Didn't have to worry about his allergies acting up, for if she was a neko... or a wolf or something. Piercing eyes, she had. Long black hair, slender body. Perhaps a bass ... no, piano? Or maybe...

"Oh, I'm sorry. The music section?"

Yamato took two turns with his head then looked back down at his notebook and sheet music. "It should be sort of obvious... What ever."

"You're in it, ma'am. Right here," while pointing at the shelves behind him, "are the musical scores, orchestral, from what I know. Most of these are strings solos. What do you play? I don't mind helping you find what you need. Although, I mean, I'm not librarian or anything..."

Yamato surprised himself by asking to help her. He was simply excited, or thrilled that there was another person at Ria who looked slightly human and or had an interest in music. More than enough of a reason, right? No...This was just a casual meeting. What ever.

"Or uh, I don't mind just pointing it out. I don't have to take you there. Not that you have too or anything... O-or I have to. I mean, it's your choice...."

He was saying too much. Definetly saying too much.

"Sorry, I ramble on a lot." He smiled at her. "Yes, so?"

Iraina laughed at the boy's sudden rambling. "That's okay, it happens to the best of us. And to answer your question, I'm looking for piano sheet music, and if you're also willing to help me look for that, it'd be much appreciated." Iraina took a look at the table to see what the boy was looking at.

"Hmm. Bach's Cello Suite No.1, eh? I take it you're into classical music. So am I," Rainy smiled.

The young woman smiled. "No fangs...This is looking good." The possibility of her trying to lure him into a dark, creepy corner then plunging her fangs into his neck was not a pleasent idea, of course.

"Yes, it does. Ah! Piano? I played a little bit of that. But by a litte, I mean a long time ago. Emphasis on the little. So, the piano section... If I remember correctly..."

Yamato tried remembering back to when he was at the huge map. He could clearly remember the thoughts going through his head, the sounds, that loud shriek, but couldn't remember if piano was on the board."Oh, how photographic memory would come in handy! Enhanced audio memory is almost of no use..."

"Hmm. Well, I do know that this floor is all music. Piano is far more common an instrument, too. It'll probably be obvious, or atleast more obvious that these other smaller rolled ones."

Yamato quickly gathered his things and put them into his bag, including the score. He pushed his chair in and stood beside her. It was only then he realised how... Fierce she really looked. Considering how tall he was, she was almost the same height. Her black hair only emphasised her eerie, mysterious look. Wouldn't want to be cornered by her any time soon.

While looking around to find any sign of an obvious notation (i.e., "P", or "PIANO") he tried arousing a conversation between the two.

"You know of Bach's works? He did write a couple of piano scores, if I remember correctly... I play the cello, by the way. Very fond of classical music, I am, haha. How long have you been playing for?"

"Well, it's been months since I've played, so I'm a bit rusty. I mean, I know the basic keys and such, but I just want to get back to playing," Iraina said, playing with her hair. She heard the boy's question.

"The cello? That sounds nice. Let's see, do I know any of Bach's works?" Iraina stood, going into the recesses of her mind to find the answer. She placed a finger on her chin. "Well, maybe one or two. I know Musette and Jesus Bleibet Meine Freude. I was thinking of playing the latter and maybe a Beethoven piece."

It was just then that Iraina asked yet another question:

"So, where ever in any band, or orchestra, or made any public performances?" She said, sitting right across from the boy. "I was planning to perform a few pieces at the glass violin, and maybe even singing, but I'm not quite sure; for you see, I'm quite shy," Rainy said thoguhtfully. She never really spoke to anyone, so this was a nice change. Besides, there was something about this boy that had a nice, cool demeanor. Rainy was glad that there was someone she could easily tak to, and about a common interest at that.

Penny walked slowly into the libary, a confused look on her face as she enterd. The room was very big and had that old book smell that penny loved. Straight away penny saw a big gold and red spine on the shelf that took her intereset, so she picked it up and started reading it on a chair.

Cezar strolled into the library, dark circles under his eyes. He flopped down in a chair, eyes flickering around the numerous bookshelves, feeling overwhelmed as he tried to collect his thoughts. Research was never his forte, and yet was essential for hunting. He groaned and laid his head on the table, trying not to fall asleep. "Books..." he said faintly.

Bored with simply staying in his room all day, Vice made his way into the library. Instantly, he disliked the surroundings. Before he could protest the situation, Fenrir spoke up: "Don't leave. At least read up a bit on the tablet before you go brood somewhere." The wolf advised, Vice sighing at his words. Walking in, he began scanning the shelves, looking for books on languages.
