Ialo smiled. It was eerily reminiscent of the Headmistress before him, a woman named Rotasu Setsuka. She was an enigmatic figure who spoke to others as though they were lower than her, and was very secretive. Well, she turned out to be possessed by her evil grandmother, but that was a different story entirely, in Ialo's opinion.
"Well, I wouldn't say I found it necessarily. More like retrieving it before it fell into the wrong hands. And then stashed it away in a safe place, like an emergency fund."
The case holding an ancient sword was suddenly visible on his back. A powerful crest was engraved on it. "I've been carrying it with me for this entire conversation, haven't you noticed?" ha asked Luna.

Luna's pace slowed. He sounded different. I always knew he was a psycho, even in high school.
Her head turned to him, two more doors to go. She had just noticed the sword behind him. But.. But.. It hadn't been there a second ago?
Her eyes narrowed. She'd learned better than to believe this bullshit. She was in a school smothered with mythical beings, like hell she was going to let him fool her. The look on his face gave her a chill. Not a good one either.
She suddenly slapped Ialo across the face. Hard.
Luna gasped. What the hell? "I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" Her voice didn't change an octave higher like it usually did when she was concerned or asking a question. It sounded monotone, as if she felt like that was what she had to say after doing something like that.
Of course, she's been wanting to do that for some time now. Served him right for abandoning her in the ocean.
She entered the wash room and clasped her hands together. "Alright, strip off your shirt. You could make another magically appear while you wait, if you want." She turned around to give him a small amount of privacy. She knew how stubborn he was. "I know you were probably going to, anyway.." she added under her breath.

Ialo never saw Luna's hand coming, and it made a crisp clap as her hit connected. His eyes went unfocused for a moment afterwards, as he slowly put his hand up to where Luna had hit him. "... No," he responded dully. He looked back at her. But I bet you wish you had, he thought.
Once they were in the washroom, he just stared at her backside before he hesitantly removed the case and began to take off his shirt. As usual, his skin was pale and his body strong. But on his right arm, there was a series of tiny scars dancing along his wrist, and a seal like a tattoo near his shoulder. Just to prove her wrong, he decided not to summon another shirt. He merely stood there bare-chested, arms crossed, with the muddy shirt slung over his shoulder. He coldly continued to stare at Luna, the distinctly hand-shaped splotch on his cheek already beginning to lighten.
"There, no shirt. Happy now? Or am I going to have to withstand more of your physical abuse?" He wanted his voice to come out flat, unamused, like a teacher disciplining a child. Instead, his voice rose towards the end, making the entire statement com out like a joke - and how furious Luna would be if she thought that he considered this whole scene nothing more than a game to him!

On the contrary, she enjoyed the amusement in his voice. It brought out her sarcasm, something she valued and trusted when she needed it most. She turned, raising her eyebrows ever so lightly at the fact that he didn't make another shirt appear. She reached over and took the piece of clothing and turned, pressing a multitude of buttons for the washer to begin working. ((I'm so not going to do an entire paragraph explaining how she's turning on the damn washer.)) She dumped two shirts in and turned back to him.
"I'm happy that your shirt's getting cleaned, if that's what you meant." She softly smiled, her eyes concentrating on him. "I'm more than ecstatic to provide you with some good ol' fashion physical abuse, if you're not too sensitive for it." She flipped her hair over her shoulder.
"Silly me, it's you I'm talking to. I shouldn't have even offered."

[[She just basically called him a p***y.]]

Ialo bit the inside of his cheek, and ever so slightly nodded at Luna. He couldn't have missed the sarcasm in her voice if it chiseled out his entrails with an ice-cold chainsaw. What an odd analogy. But where Luna could be sarcastic, he could be downright nasty, Ialo decided.
"Of course not," he falsely consoled her, his voice sickeningly sweet.
"After all, what could you possibly do to me? You're a woman, this is where you belong." Strike one.
"You can't even remember half your life, and you hardly know how to control your powers anyways." Strike two. Ialo was half-hoping Luna would hit him again, or at least yell at him.
"Why, I'm surprised they let you out of the kennel without a harness and a muzzle!" And, that was strike three. Ialo breifly wondered to himself, What in the world am I doing?

Her face didn't shift in the slightest.
She remained silent, her unwavering eyes boring into his. It seemed like an hour before the washer clicked, notifying them that the drier was beginning to do it's job. Her once flirtatious features grew cruel, plotting. And she was plotting, but she knew she'd never actually continue on with the plan. She wasn't like him.
At first, her eyes looked as though they were going to cry. An immediate reaction that a younger version of her would have had. Of course, she wasn't the same Luna anymore. So her eyes remained the glossy red they were, and the color flickered as though it were on fire.
The machine beeped, his shirt was done.
Without moving her face, her hand lifted and clicked the lid open. She pulled out a bright orange shirt and folded it. She then pulled out Ialo's shirt, but instead of it being white when she previously placed it, it was a light but noticeable orange.
She handed it to Ialo with a silent nod and turned to walk out of the room. As she exited, she whispered softly, but loud enough for him to hear.
"I'm surprised you went into the mud without your apron and body guard."

There was the slightest tic in Ialo's face and he was fooled into thinking Luna was going to begin weeping. Not what he planned at all. But the look passed, and he realized that she wasn't the same anymore. Neither was he. That continued to stare like this until the dryer had run its course as well. He accepted he shirt from Luna, glowering at her. The temperature around him promptly rose several degrees, a telltale sign he was angry. He hated orange.
As Luna walked out, he heard her comment loud and clear. There was a sharp intake of breath. "You turned my shirt orange," he said simply. "I guess a stupid omega wolf like you can't even be trusted with simple things like laundry." The tension between them was great, and Ialo was getting very close to raising his voice.
"Oh well. You won't be missed."

While Danni worked in the kitchen, Lia had finished her shower, completely ridding herself of the disgusting mud the tomboy had doused her in. That's how Lia of always thought of Danni. Never 'my little sister' or 'Danni', or even another Rinaldi. No, she just thought of her as the 'tomboy' that was alive for no other reasons but to annoy her and take up Ambrose's time. As she brushed any snarls out of her golden hair as she sat at a vanity, she glanced in the mirror and wondered how her parents had ever managed to produce something so...opposite of her.

Honestly, ever since Danni's dark mark had appeared so many years ago, the girl had been nothing but a thorn in Lia's side. In the back of her mind, though, her thoughts lingered on long ago memories from before Danni's fate had been determined. Back then, when her younger sister had been but a toddler, Lia had adored her baby sister, who'd followed her around like an adoring puppy. Together they'd had tea parties, swam in the ocean, and played together like real siblings. Every now and then, when her thoughts strayed back in time, she felt a twinge of guilt for the way she and all the others had positively pushed Danni away, merely because of what destiny had fated her to become.

However, as quickly as the quilt came, it vanished, replaced by disgust. Look at what black magic had done to the tomboy, look what she'd become. It was much better, much easier to be a white magic sorceress, so much more satisfying to dress in pretty clothes and look nice, catching the eye of boys. And that, Lia could most certainly do. Danni, on the other hand, looked more like a boy than a girl half the time. It was...pathetic, Lia thought as she ran the brush through her hair and stared admiringly at her reflection in the mirror.

She was the perfect little angel her parents had raised her to be, and she was proud of herself. Why, the adoration in her parent's eyes was enough to satisfy anyone. And who could ask for a better brother, she thought, even if Ambrose did take a liking to Danni for God knows what reason. All in all, she had everything she could ever want. And as long as she was happy, what else mattered?

Meanwhile, Ambrose brooded at his own reflection in the mirror as he stood shirtless in front of the full length mirror in the bathroom. Over the past few months, he'd grown even taller, which was saying something considering he'd already passed the six foot mark before. Now he was just...gangly, he thought with a frown. But as he flexed his muscles in the mirror, he knew no one could deny the fact that he was strong. Stong enough to protect anything and anyone, he added to himself. He'd been blessed with shielding powers, and he meant to make full use of them, protecting both of his younger sisters.

Well, one legal sister and a disowned one, anyway, he thought with a scowl. Even now, it still angered him that Izzy-aka, Danni- could've written and signed herself out of the family without a word to him. Not only that, but she'd started living with the school's cook in a shack, and she was calling him...Daddy. It angered him that she'd seemingly replaced her old family with a new one, but most of all he was angry with himself, with all the Rinaldi's. For they'd been the ones, in the end, who'd driven her away, the reason she'd felt the need to sign the contract that had her disowned. Now he was reminded of that every time he and Lia returned home to their island without her, every time he saw the empty seat at the end of the dining room table. It was wrong, he thought, so wrong, but obviously the right choice for her. And it killed him inside to realize she was so much happier without all of them...Shaking his head, he ran a towel through his hair, then tossed it into a hamper before walking into his room, prepared to work off his anger by practicing some new spells he'd learned.

Luna stood still in her tracks, her head whipping to face him. Her eyes were lowered, causing a soft shadow on her smooth features. "You're right," she said softly, the feminine vicious edge to her voice. "But you will."
Suddenly several images in her mind appeared. His poor computers wouldn't have a leader. She was there when he planned to work with Riser. He was the Headmaster of the school. So many things he's responsible for.. It would be such a shame to see all of it go to waste.
Some of those things will cost lives.
The cruelty of her thoughts almost made her flinch, but instead she gave him an alluring grin. Suddenly, her manicured nails turned sharp. She wanted to fight him; right now. She thought of all the ways she would be able to hold him down, if only for at least five seconds, with her ice powers. Then she'd let her arm transform into the blood red sword which she'd use to behead him, right then and there. So many more tactics came to mind.
Her posture shifted slightly. A posture used by predators, she knew that he would be able to recognize it.
Oh, ho, ho... She was ready.

Ialo was startled, to say the least. He wanted to make Luna angry, yes, but... Might he have gone too far? He cautiously took a step back. The argument was quickly becoming beast versus beast. The shirt slid from his fingers, incinerating into a pile of ashes before it even hit the stone tiled floor.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked, grabbing the case with the sword contained in it. That would be one of his advantages, he thought, that Luna didn't know exactly what his weapon was. "You know you don't stand a chance against me," he couldn't help but to taunt her. "Silly omega wolf, what can you do against the king of the skies?"

"Rule the ground," she answered, quickly. She lowered herself and darted to his left, her hand stretched out far enough to cause four deep cuts at his ankle. She spun quickly, ending up behind him, her mouth at the same level of his neck. Her hands were already around his wrists, holding tightly. Her breath surely could have tickled his neck.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" she mimicked, inhaling his scent, becoming even more familiar with it for the sake of the small fight. "You know you don't stand a chance against me."
Boy, she could really make her voice sound sexy even when her nails were digging into his wrists' tissues.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 28, 2009 8:03 pm

"Tch!" Ialo had completely underestimated Luna. Now she had already drawn blood and held his wrists. God, what a moron he was. Her breath at his neck caused his hair to stand on end and at her voice, his entire body tensed up. "Yeah, right!" he growled at her. Come to think of it, had they ever fought against each other before? Together, yes, but as opponents? He closed his eyes and concentrated. The halls before them dissolved, and Luna was now at Ialo's mercy - several hundred feet in the air, above dark rolling waves crashing against jagged cold rocks.
"And if there's no ground?"

"I--" her sentence was cut off. She felt the wind now, smelled the salty water below. Her grip tightened, not with the expectancy of his pain, but with her own fear. She was afraid of heights, and he knew that. b*****d.
Her legs wrapped around his hips, forcing her eyes to not look down, don't think about it, don't imagine falling. Her chin was now on his shoulder, trying to pretend she was on solid ground, he's just carrying her.
"You're playing dirty," she growled, but the growl was just to mask the scared whine she had. She failed at trying to mask it.
"I wasn't playing dirty with you.." she said, almost pleadingly if she weren't trying to hide it. She tried to regain her confidence. "I guess a stupid, scale-a** dragon such as yourself can't even be trusted with playing fairly."
It was a good comeback in her opinion, only that her tone lacked the aggressiveness it needed.
She was a child again, trying to seek safety. So much for being sexy.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 28, 2009 9:07 pm

"Now that's not-" Ialo suddenly realized how ludicrous the objection would seem if he worded it that way. But, something else grabbed his attention instead, and it wasn't that Luna was hanging on his back. "WHY THE **** EVERYONE CALL ME THAT?!?!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. In his frustration, the water shifted and circled beneath the pair, a massive whirlpool forming in the cold sea. The sky was dark and cloudy, and there was a spark in the clouds, followed by a clap of thunder. Wherever Ialo had teleported them, it was nowhere near the school, though.

She twitched. "Can you STOP being so self-absorbed for once in your damn life and GET US OUT OF HERE?!"
