Vicious Maharaja Man. Some of the votes in the Art Arena make no sense. An awesome cg dragon loses out because they weren't coloring "in the lines" on something that was purposely done out of the lines. it gets overall, a 7. every other drawing of a naruto character on line paper in math class winds up with a 6.5. are people afraid to say, " hey.. that sucks? " -flowers mule. i'm finishing up orphans and caroling. sweatdrop xd I should submit that one Naruto xmas card I made! (j/k) I wonder if it's that some people only go looking for Naruto art and linking to Naruto art and thus the CG dragon gets votes by a smaller set of people who are more particular and into the idea of art rating on a whole. Then there's the whole grade inflation thing that affects video game ratings and people's ideas of what 'average' means. I vaguely remember the art arena once granting gold for higher ratings (???) I wonder what compels people to put stuff there now, as it's kind of clunky to browse/search, especially when there are alternatives like deviantart and the like which seem to have more focus on the art and less people running around rating for gold. I guess people like the simplicity and ease of comparison of a number.

TweedleKeys Vicious Maharaja Streamjumper Vicious Maharaja Pretty User Made ItemAw! Wow. This is really pretty. gonk I figured I'd share cause it's friggin gorgeous. Pretty damn nice! I usually don't get wow'd by user made items. It's a shame she missed the contest though. Someone in thread suggested a user MC contest, in light of the few recent item contests. It would be interesting to see, honestly. But it would take months. Haha. I'm sure there's quite a bit of red tape people have to weed through to have their items used by Gaia. If they sold the items for real money, the user would have to be compensated. Alas, what a shame. They're still pretty. I love the socks. xd Every time they do a user item contest, they must get a ton of entries and probably a decent amount of ideas out of it. I wonder what happens if they use one of those ideas. Is some user going to complain "I sent them that idea!" or are they just going to avoid those ideas all together? I still want a wind-up key. Well. They do pick one idea to use, and that person, I assume, has to go through some red tape ( signing papers, getting parental permission on stuff, whatever's needed ) to have the item used by Gaia. It's in the Legal mumbo they list for every contest. But the other ideas, I'm not sure. They usually come out with sets of things, rarely if ever just one item at a time. So I doubt they run into problems with it.

If they made it official, whoever submitted it would probably get annoyed..

I mean, there's not much that the originator can do other than whine and call wolf claim they're going to sue. (Unless they're Clementine's mom.) I suppose it's not like users aren't suggesting things all the time, but in a more formalized setting with rules and stuff, the line between mining for ideas and listening to the pulse of the user base gets more blurred.
