I'm scared to go to bed and to wake up in intense pain, becuase it doesn't hurt all that much right now. gonk You know, it's weird. I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out when I was 17. I wasn't given any painkillers, just some penicillan to prevent infection. I wouldn't say I was in pain, just a little uncomfortable. And hungry. Soft mushy food for a week = FAIL. Of course, I also refused to be awake while they pulled 4 teeth out of my mouth. I don't know if that made a difference. Did you just get novacaine?
For medication, I was given Hydrocodone, Ibuprofen, and penicillan. I've only taken the penicillan so far, because the pain hasn't been that bad. We'll see though.
My Dad made me a chocolate malt after I woke up from my nap. It hurt so bad. crying That's why I chose the local anesthesia. Mmm shots in the mouth! I've had a few teeth pulled, even part of my jaw drilled away. The effects of the novacain shots last a few days.. months if they hit a nerve. Either way, i got to go home and eat pizza rolls.
When I got my wisdom teeth out, I went under. I remember the guy telling me they were giving me something to make me feel better. Then I was home in bed.
Josh told me I cried for about an hour when I first got home because I thought he was making fun of me. xp Yah, getting wisdom teeth out isn't fun. I was really only in pain for one week. But then I couldn't open my jaw all the way for a month and food got stuck in the holes.

Josh told me I cried for about an hour when I first got home because I thought he was making fun of me. xp Yah, getting wisdom teeth out isn't fun. I was really only in pain for one week. But then I couldn't open my jaw all the way for a month and food got stuck in the holes.yeah the food in the hole thing is pretty gross. i didnt have any swelling at all when they drilled into my jaw, so i'm wondering what will happen with my wisdom teeth.

Yay!! Biggest thing done! I dreamt Ryan (for the rest of you, annoying guy who dumped me a few years ago and suddenly wants me back!! yeah bitches) sent me a leaf-head-hat thingy to try and get me to marry him. xd

viRTuaLiNSaNiTy I didn't go under. I have humongous tonsils (like, check these out...that's about accurate...and the funny thing is those are considered swollen) and they didn't want to risk them swelling or something then me suffocating. I read that as homonculous tonsils!! *waits for Lust and Gluttony*

I'm allergic to penicillin. My body breaks out into hives and I pee blood. eek
Me too, though I'm not sure about the pee blood part. Sometimes I became more hive than non-hive. Sulfa is also no good. I was awake for my wisdom teeth removal, just on nitrous. I only remember the oral surgeon asking me questions the way that dentists too and being amused that it didn't matter what I would answer and that there's no way he could understand because I "wouldn't remember" either.
