Stray, I've been watching this conversation from a far and I've got to at least partially agree with Eric. These side RPs are for playing around with new ideas for characters; new origins, new stories, new personalities. That's what makes them fun.
But you seem to want to constantly stick to the same old song and dance with Match in the side RPs that might not always make that much sense. Yes, canon Match is a government experiment, but all the other side RP Matches don't have to be. I'll admit, Match is a tricky character to retool into something else, but it's not an impossible feat.
Eric is just frustrated that you aren't willing to branch out and try something different for your characters, not for his sake, but your own. Thinking up alternate versions is a lot of fun, and he just doesn't want you to force yourself into a box you can't move out of.
Doing the same exact thing over and over gets pretty boring and repetitive after a while-- not just for yourself, but the other people in the RP. Let's just step back and look at kinda what I'm talking about. Ivy is a Nazi scientist. Harvey is a double agent. But Match would essentially be just the same old Match if I'm understanding correctly.
Same powers, same weaknesses, basically the same backstory and personality, just with changes copied and pasted in to put him in context. The same origin gets old after a while. And I'm not trying to knock it down, it could work, it could work very well; but you don't have to limit yourself to that one idea is all.

Well that's the thing, isn't it? You're not understanding correctly and neither is he, and he hasn't bothered to actually ask what I had in mind. He and you have both just assumed that I want to make Match exactly the same without considering that 'government supersoldier' might be the only thing the two characters have in common other than the name "Match".
I would have explained it, but I really don't feel I need to justify myself to him or anyone else. I'm not defending my right to make Match exactly the same, I'm defending my right to make him the way that I'd like regardless of whether or not I intended him to be exactly the same.
I took a Mary Sue/Gary Stu litmus test and found that Match is not a Gary Stu. In fact, it said he could use a little spicing up.

I'm pondering making Gerard a villain. Keep his empath powers and use them for evil. Make him one of those scary mofos that chek up on the progress of the labs and camps for Hilter. Uses his powers to interogate people by pumping them full of fear or give them false hope.
I thought that Damian would heard Virgil heading out to take his bath, but my ideas are turning. So if d**k can follow 'the person sneaking in the dark to the lake'. I can have a surprise waiting for Roy and Damian as well as the camp.

I was gonna ask you about what you wanted to do. I can have that. Ill be having Gerard pop in on Talia and harvey soon too.. I'm usein the one guy from Inglorious Bastards as insperation for Gerard as a Nazi.
Should I give the camp a fighting chance or should they be wiped out, and leave our four soldiers the sole survivors?
5... The dog has to live too lol. Sounds fine to me. Our guys are the most BA mofos in the camp. Roy can steal a few uniforms and they can infultrate the nazi lab pretty easy. Roy speaks good German.
Oh, I gotta finish my art I was working on at work.. About this Brony thing.. damian is not amused. I illistrated it muahahahahahaah. Once it's inked and colored it shall be my sig.

XD why shouldn't I give the Nazis the Futuristic Tech and weapons. They build some crazy stuff in WW2... may some of it actually worked.
As a Brony, I'm gonna give you a fair warning, we are Legion, and we are everywhere.... If you out yourself as a hater, bring an umbrella. That's all I'm saying.
How crazy steampunkish with the tech are we getting? lol.

Some Bronies are RL Special Forces.
Well, I've gotta remind people that these Elseworld RP's are still in the DC Universes. So maybe something like in Captain America, The Savage Time arc from JL, stuff like that. Why should we try to keep these historically accurate?
Very true This is all on a comicbook type universe and comicbooks can get rather out there. I'll need more granades.
Also looking up stuff on Damian. He is classified as a meta human. He's able to heal quickly from near lethal wounds. Normal wounds heal as normal. Only the ones that could possably kill him he's able to recover from quickly and survive. Stumbled onto a forum chatroom on the subject. It was pretty interesting. I plan to have him rip on the metas in YJ and yet he's one lol.

Alright... >.> your funeral.
The Atlas is blasting apart tents and soldiers, and the Valkyries are blasting soldiers and hacking them up. Unless a bomb is dropped on the Atlas it isn't being stopped by anything they have at camp, but the Valkyrie can be killed with some creativity, if they can be caught.
Harvey sent the normal Nazi soldiers to be killed so the Camp would know to move, but I'd guess that someone doesn't trust Harvey and sent in the heavy hitters.
