Cloverfield was very weird.
I want to see that!
Weird good or weird bad?
Or just... werid?
Well, I thought it was very well executed, it had me clenching onto my boyfriend's hand every so often. I don't usually scare easily when it comes to horror/monster/thriller movies, but this one did manage to startle me a few times. On the other hand, at times it was a little predictable, but a lot of it was pretty well done. I'd say more but I don't really want to spoil it for anyone who does want to see it.
I guess if you like the sort of movie that it is, then you'd probably enjoy it. It's filmed from the perspective of the people it's happening to, not like, traditional movie style -- so if you like that sort of thing, it'd probably be good for you.
My boyfriend was a little agitated at the ending, but then I was like "well, what did you expect?"
xp But all in all, we both enjoyed it. Probably not something we'd see again in theatres (unless someone else was buying), and not something we're going to buy when it comes out, but we'd probably rent. It'd have the best re-watching value if we were watching it again with others who haven't seen it, we decided.
