Sirius Silverstar Haha, the dongle. xd I wonder if I could use combinations of buttons to trigger a different sound than if a button were pressed alone. But then, if I do that, I can only trigger one sound at a time, instead of 2 simultaneously... I'm thinking of having the sounds be short [or infinite] loops that can be toggled, instead of single notes, so a richer sound mass can be created. The loops themselves would probably be some random things I compose, and I'd try to make sure they all sound good together no matter how they're arranged. xd I'm not too concerned about a wide variety of sounds, since I'm just starting out... I was just planning on using the Wiimote without the nunchuck, honestly, but perhaps that could be fun. It's just fun to say "dongle" You could mix it up, so that certain combinations of keys make sounds you want to use often, but keep (say, the D-pad) single values only. That way you could do both. Yeah, I wouldn't use the nunchuck. At least, not to begin with. That would be a little too complicated. Well, if you were going to do it like that, I would use the A and B buttons for short sounds that you want to use (As well as A+B), then have the X and Y values change pitch or delay. Then just use the D-pad values to toggle loops since you probably wouldn't accidentally hit those. Seems like that would make the most sense. Well, not that I know a whole lot about these things. It's always fun to see people use it for stuff like that though. You should look for some videos on youtube. I've seen it done a few times.

Well, to add to my list of crappy s**t that's happened so far this week my watch band broke.
Absolutely none of the things that I was hoping to have happen like getting my own room or getting the foreign language requirement waived because I had german II and naturally I should get something for german I if just not having to take another foreign language class. Then I discovered even with that this ******** money grubbing hell hole allowed this department to require even more foreign language classes than any other university I've seen.
The career center was absolutely useless for helping with internships. They basically just directed me to the University run listings which are just as crappy as the random s**t on the Internet. Whoever allowed them to list camp counsellor as an internship should be shot. So that was a waste.
My classes really aren't all that exciting. And for creative writing classes they have way too many people in them, nearing thirty. And both of them have a pretentious jackass who needs to learn to shut the ******** up because nobody cares about what he thinks just so he can hear himself talk.
And I hate the fact that my poetry class runs so late, because then it cuts into handball practice, so I have to rush about to eat, and then get ready for handball and go.
And the buses were all ******** up today and I was late to class because the bus was not only over 15 minutes late, but then the driver just turns down the wrong street like it's so ******** complicated to do the route.
And my theatre class is filled with morons (I had to put up with the one girl for a lab partner in astronomy, and you think she could be less of a b***h to me considering I helped her pass the damn class).
And the roommate is still turning the heat way up and so I can't sleep at night because the room is a virtual sauna, even after I turn the heat down.
I'm just seriously ******** tired of putting up with s**t.

Jahoclave I'm just seriously ******** tired of putting up with s**t. *hugs* If it's any consolation, freshman and sophomore year are like that... Gen ed, topical breadth, intro classes, kids who think they're cool since they're in college now. Junior year is when all the idiots are filtered out and you can study your own field hardcore, with minimal interference. Even though everybody specializes in their own majors, I've found that all you really learn in college is how to learn. @Wolffy - Hey, this is somewhat unrelated, but you might like these. I do, anyway! They're both loop-based electronic instruments... pieces of "sound art" rather than something you'd use in normal composition. Tenori-OnReactable - (check out the live Berlin performance too) Reactable is definitely the cooler of the two, but the Tenori-On is so cute. heart

It's pretty cool, though ends up more distorted and noisy than I like. The idea is awesome though. It seems like it would be an awesome thing to play around with in minature though. Like a centerpiece at tables in a bar or something. I really like the Tenori-On though. Never seen that one before, but it seems like fun.

Well, I already technically am a junior. It's the fact that this University is a money grubbing whore and they just keep adding more and more gen ed and they won't let things count for multiple requirements. I already have three classes that would cover gen ed fine arts requirement, but they all cover other things, including my BA's fine art requirement. Which makes you think, why do we have botha BA requirement and a gen ed requirement for the SAME DAMN THING?!
But seriously, I have less classes to take for my major (and minor if I go with history) than I do for my gen ed requirements I still need to do.

That's totally ridiculous. :/ At least my university allows you to fulfill multiple requirements with one class - except for classes in your major. You can't use those for multiple things, but if your major is IN the fine arts, you definitely don't need to take general ed classes in that area.
I think the prerequisite system is stupid too. I wanted to minor in art a few years ago, but to take ANY art classes you had to start with the drawing class. And that class was ALWAYS filled up by seniors looking for their "fun class" - so how the ******** was I supposed minor in it if I couldn't even snag the first class? I can probably sign up for it now since I have priority, but I'd like to graduate on time, thank you very much.
And all universities are money-grubbing whores!

Argh, Ruckus is addicting. I need to stop playing with it and go to bed.
Not that I have any real reason to be awake tomorrow, but still.

The odd thing though, is classes that count towards my major count towards my degrees fine art requirement. The really annoying part is though, since I'm creative writing emphasis both my basic creative writing courses don't count towards the gen ed requirement even though they do for everybody else. That and all the creative writing classes are open to everybody, and so even in the upper level classes it's mostly people who aren't even English majors, and half the time should have never been passed through the basic class because they can't write. And Pasta, stop playing with Ruckus!

*headdesk headdesk headdesk* I hate searching for colleges and jobs. I hate it even more when I find something that will make me happy and my friends and family second guess it because it's out of state. My education should be important and if this college that I'm set on is one I want to go to then by God let me go! Don't moan and whine about how I'll be 12 hours or less away from home. I'm a big girl. Let me fly.

I'm so glad that we've caught two of the rats, but I do wish that the traps were set with something besides peanut butter. I can't go in the kitchen, my bathroom, or the garage without starting to feel ill.
