If they control space, they can control a ground engagement.

I have a new-found love for the Mon Calamari DeepWater. It's such a useful vessel.

I think most Mon Cal ships are highly under-rated and unappreciated most of the time. Actually, I just came up with a great bloody idea that would be useful to pirates and other outlaws.
But I can see why you have a specific appreciation for this model. Kal Skirata used one.

He did, and and that's what got me to really take a look at the vehicle. I mean, it's useful in deep water (hence the name), it's good for deep space travel due to it's crew accommodations, and it's pretty light on it's feet for a bird that size.

Huh, your right, it could outrace most CEC Light freighters of its time. And at almost twice the size of some of them. Its accommodations and cargo limit is very nice too.
You've given me a good reason to pay more attention to Mon Cal ships in general.
In my mind though, CEC is like a Dodge, and Mon Cal is like, I dont know, Toyota. Ones just closer to home I guess.

Personally I'm a big fan of MandalMotors, KDY, Cygnus, and MonCal (now that i've been looking at them)

I'd say CEC is like Ford. Everyone knows 'em, they're kind of junky in appearance and somewhat sloppily thrown together, and of course, lots of room to improve upon by plucky young spacers lookign for a good time.
Still, i'm a fan of KDY, Sullustians, and mon cals as the top three, although none are actually anywhere near cheap...

How can the Teroch-class be considered a Gunship with only dual laser cannons?

My entire Mandalorian Wars group was wondering that too. And its freakishly crew intensive for being a little ship. Lets hope Mandalore replaced it with something better before the war's end.

Maybe "Gunship" is what the Republic calls it. They kind of have a habit of mixing up ship classes, and getting shot down by a gunship sounds a lot better than getting shot down by a lightly armed shuttle.
