Twilight Scribe Satoshi_Shigure2526 Twilight Scribe I have to keep my reeds in a case and in a ziploc bag cause of the climate where I live... I've also got the WORST case ever... and little pieces of my sax are missing... screws too... *head to desk* Oh yea, climate is also a problem, haha. Don't let a bad instrument get in your way, when your just plain good, you WILL get a god instrument =] Well, it's better then the one I had before... it was bad, REALLY REALLY bad. I couldn't play certain notes because the keys were messed up; and sometimes on this one certain notes don't come out sounding right. But usually I'm the first one who is in-tune on our tuning notes. TAKE THAT YOU TWO STUPID FELLOW BARI FELLOWS!! *talking about her section mates who love to make fun of her* You show them!!! =]

I'm in a pickle.
I loooooove playing my saxophone, but our band needs low brass, and I wanna try some. (We only have two low brass players, and they're both seventh graders.) But, the saxophone section would be dead without me. If we had section leaders, I'd probably be it. There's a 7th grader who plays the sax, and she's pretty good, but I don't think she practices enough to make it sound good. And the other 8th grader has mental problems, and he doesn't play very well.
I want to learn different instruments eventually. D:

Mage_Wolf Banana stickers are metal Satoshi_Shigure2526 Mage_Wolf Mena-Chan I play alto sax and I can't seem to keep my reed from breaking..... sweatdrop I went though 3 reeds this year..... Only 3? pff that's nothing...well at least if you're in Marching Band it's not. I've gone through two boxes this year. D: It's getting really annoying that I have to keep getting out new ones. I have a problem with breaking them while I march. The whole snapping your instrument up at the same time can really hurt your mouth and chip your reed >.< Plus reeds just get banged around a lot more, at least in my case...Yes, marching bands tend to waste a lot of reeds, I took 2 boxes of reeds size 4 this year I agree. I've been through 4 boxes already. Probbably because i'm finicky with my reeds. sweatdrop xp yep...reeds definitely don't last as long in Marching Band. I made the mistake of not changing out for a new reed before a football game when my reed was split in several places. During our show, I somehow managed to get a splinter in my tongue. O.o OWWW!!! It's not fun to march with a splinter in your mouth.i play alto and the same thing happened to me last year. a piece of the reed went so far into my lip i had to have surgery to get it out. but that didn't stop me from playing, i picked it right up again after the surgery. smile

Could someone give me some advice? D: My school tenor falls apart a lot. But every now and then the ENTIRE octave key just falls off. From the button you press with your thumb, to the little thing that lifts up the key on the neck. Sometimes even the actual key on the neck comes off with it. Does anyone have advice to keep this from happening? There's a part of it that's supposed to be welded to the saxophone or something like that, and it keeps coming 'unwelded' and I have to take it to the shop. And then I can't play :'(

Haha. In class today we were sightreading this piece. OMFG! My part was hard. Our last note was a high third octave B. o.o It scared me. That note is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FLAT! It almost registered as a Bb. Anyway, we got to the last note and the first alto/me had this jazzy little run thing and we held out a whole note then ended on another little run that led up to the high B while everyone dropped out except me I hit that note. Well, I did my little run and hit the note, mind you that my head was gonna explode, and then HAWWWWWWWWWWWWWONNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!
XD This unGodly noise that sounded like a goose that was put through medeival torture. My director looked at me and said "What in the name of Merlin's pants was that torturous noise!?!" XD
