Train blinked in surprise as she heard a rather loud voice, and turned her head to look for the source of the sound. Her gaze fell upon a boy who looked to be about her age, if not older, heading towards her and Carlos. She certainly didn't know him, perhaps he was a companion of Carlos…? She glanced at the Spanish-speaking trainer, then back to the boy walking towards them, who had started to speak to them in what she could tell was terrible, broken Spanish.

As the boy continued talking, a sweatdrop formed on the back of Train's head, while an, 'Uhhhhh?' sort of look appeared on her face, her mouth open slightly from sheer confusion.
'Breaka-fasto…?' She thought, staring, dumbfounded, when he took her hand and introduced himself, and almost ended up letting a small laugh at the whole, 'If I had any,' thing, in accordance to his previous statement about his friends.

"Uhm…" This had been a bit of a weird little turn of events this morning, and she was still a bit taken aback by it. Mostly because this weirdo strange was holding onto her hand for some reason. Which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so…she couldn't even put a word to it. But he wasn't even hot! "I'm Train," She finally said, giving her hand a little tug in an attempt to get it out of Maz's grip.

Watching the two girls so sad over the fact that they were losing so badly almost made Leon feel a bit bad. But he had never even met these girls before, and thus didn't really care about how they felt. They more than likely had known full well that once they had become Pokémon trainers there would be some battles they just weren't going to win.

However, he also didn't feel like just bombarding them with attacks again, and so he commanded Ghos to use a Hypnosis attack. Unfortunately, the attack missed. Mildly annoying, but not really a huge setback or anything, so Leon didn't really mind. "Muuma, Psywave." Muuma floated a bit closer to the Seedot and sent out the hot energy wave. Seedot winced but managed to endure the attack.

Now that the two turns were up, the Seedot flung itself at Muuma to inflict the damage from the attack. It was quite surprised when Muuma appeared to notice nothing, unaware that its Normal-type attack was ineffective against her.

"Oh," he replied quietly, looking at the floor. He'd been about to apologize for apologizing, but that seemed a bit redundant and he didn't want to seem even more dumb than he already felt. "An errand?" he repeated, looking up in time to see a tiny, red and white object suddenly come flying at his head and on pure instinct he ducked, though it proved to be a waste of energy as he was quite tall, and the ball ended up smacking him right in the side of the head. "...ow," he muttered, looking down at the floor where the sphere lay. "Oh, a Pokeball," he said, picking it up from the floor and turning it over in his hands a few times.

It hadn't even occurred to him that while he couldn't remember his own name, his own face, his birth date, or even his parents, yet he knew what a Pokeball was, and by extension, Pokemon, and the general way in which the world worked. Another thought occurred to him then, and he blinked a few times, wondering if he'd heard right, though he was sure he was as he looked back up at Rowan. "Right, I need a Pokemon, otherwise wild Pokemon might jump out and gnaw my face off," he nodded, accepting the letter and the small box he was supposed to deliver. The address was written right there on the letter, thankfully enough. He had to admit that he was a little bit surprised that Rowan was entrusting him with something like this, especially when he didn't know him from a whole aground. Heck, he didn't even know himself from a hole in the ground.

"Yes, Professor," he said, trying not to grin like a little kid that had just been given the coolest toy in the world. "I will make sure it gets there," he said, giving a little salute before running out of the room. He was back a few moments later, however, a sheepish expression on his face. "Which way is Twinleaf Town?" he asked, his face a little red. "And any idea of where I could get some shoes?"

"Oh, Kilik," Miharu repeated, nodding. "Yeah, I remember him," she said. "He won his badge just a little bit before I did, and Petunia is my Pinsir. She kinda likes flowers and stuff." She didn't really remember much about the battle, as she'd only come in at the end of it, but by the time she looked up again, Sam had already gone off ahead. "Wait up!" she called, doing her best to try to catch up. "It's a bit of a maze in here, and I bet there are a bunch of trainers waiting to accost us-"

"You mean like me?" came a voice from behind her, and Miharu froze as chills raced up her back. She whirled around to come face to face with a boy, probably her age, wearing dirty jeans, a somewhat ragged tee shirt and a lopsided straw hat. His feet were clad in well-worn sandals.

She'd been about to object and declare firmly that she wasn't here to challenge Bugsy, but then she heard Sam's warning, and she groaned. "Yeah, I've kinda got one of those myself," she shouted back, turning back to the boy. "Look, I'm not here to battle you, or Bugsy, or anyone else. I'm here to support my friend," she said, nodding in the direction Sam had ran off.

"I don't believe you," he pressed on, folding his arms over his chest in a grumpy manner. "You're just trying to get out of a battle with me. I bet you're afraid to lose."

"Actually, no," Miharu retorted, her tone one of annoyance, but the bug catcher boy wasn't listening to her, apparent by the fact that he'd sent out a mighty Caterpie. It sat at its trainer's feet, looking quite harmless, and Miharu rolled her eyes, wondering if it would be in bad form to send out Aska and have the Pidgeot devour it.

Carlos missed a beat when he heard a sudden shout of bad Spanish from a young lad. He had some knowledge of the words he wanted, but his pronunciation was atrocious and most of the words were just plain wrong. But still, you had to admire a guy for trying. "I believe the word you want is desayuno my young new friend, and of course you may join us. Meals always taste better in the company of others. You may call me, Carlos!" Strumming more rapidly now Carlos ended the little jam session with some hard notes, his pokemon stopping with him. "It is nice to meet you I'm sure." Carlos watched as Train tried to wrench her hand away from the boy's grip and could only chuckle. "Well then, vamonos chicos. Breakfast time!" Swinging his guitar back around his back and re-tightening the strap, he started for the cafeteria with his pokemon following in line behind him. He figured the other two would catch up, the day was wasting and they needed to get moving. Once inside the cafeteria Carlos found a table, his pokemon staying behind to keep it saved as he went up to get his breakfast. Some eggs, bacon, fruit, potatoes, and just about one of everything they had. "Heh heh heh, breakfast of campeónes. Sitting back down at the table his pokemon looked at him hungrily, which caused Carlos to chuckle. "Relax my friends, I've got yours right here, same as always." Carlos reached into his poncho and searched around the impossibly vast storage space he seemed to have, but to no avail. "Hmm, pues donde? Ah!" Carlos laughed, taking off his sombrero and reaching inside, pulling out three cans of pokemon food. "I never check the hat, ha ha ha." Opening them up he set them down in front of his pokemon before putting his sombrero back on. Carlos was a bit strange at times, but he meant well.

Katie was no longer sure which of the two grass-type Pokemon was the bigger threat, and her momentary pause in thought had allowed the Nuzleaf, on Mimi's command, a chance to dart forward and land a solid Pound attack to the top of Kord's head. Kiki had commanded for her Lombre to use a Fury Swipes attack and it too had run forward, raking its sharp claws across Miles' already somewhat battered body and the Buizel howled in pain, breaking free of the attack and putting some distance between himself and his opponent.

"Kord, bring down that Nuzleaf with a Cross Chop!" Katie shouted finally, knowing that it was by far the Elekid's strongest attack at this point. The Nuzleaf was told to try and dodge, but a surge of electricity coursed over him and all at once Katie realized that it had been paralyzed by the Elekid's Static. The small electric-type raced forward, taking advantage of his foe's momentary immobility to deliver what both he and his orange haired trainer were quickly coming to call his signature, double-chopping attack to the Wily Pokemon. It cried out painfully and stumbled back, though it wasn't finished yet, much to Kord and Katie's dismay.

"Bui!" Miles shouted suddenly, springing into action. He knew he didn't have much energy left, but he could finish part of this! White light trailed from behind him as he sped forward with his Quick attack, letting out another fierce cry as he slammed into the Nuzleaf with all the force he could manage. The Nuzleaf let out a weak cry before toppling over backwards, and it was promptly recalled by Mimi, who could only look at her twin with a saddened expression.

A short time later, after he'd been given the appropriate directions and an old pair of wooden sandals, he was finally on his way, carrying the little box and letter safely in his pocket. His aviator jacket was slung over his shoulder as he walked, and the Pokeball Rowan had given him was still tightly clutched in his hand. He was still quite excited over the fact that Rowan had entrusted him with a Pokemon, though he was sure he'd have to give it back once his errand was through. Rowan had only told him three things about the Pokemon contained within the Pokeball - it was a Grass-type, its only known attacks were Tackle and Withdraw, and that it was called Turtwig. He also had hinted that the little Pokemon would grow stronger with more battle experience, but the boy wasn't sure he was up to that task. After all, he'd only been given Turtwig as a means of protection for his errand to Twinleaf Town.

He'd been told to head west once leaving Rowan's Laboratory, and when he saw the signpost that read Route 201 he knew he was going the right way. At least I still have my sense of direction, he thought, forcing a smile. It was quiet out here, not that Sandgem itself was a very busy or noisy place. It gave him ample opportunity to think, though he wasn't sure what there was to even think about. He still hadn't the faintest idea of how he'd washed up on that beach, or what he'd been doing before that. More than that, he wished he could remember his name, though the only thing he could keep coming back to was the name on that shampoo bottle - Johnson. He laughed out loud and shook his head but decided it would make a fairly decent surname. All he needed now was a first name to go along with it, though all he kept coming up with were very common names, most of which made him frown at the thought of it, particularly John Johnson.

He'd made good progress on the route and he was certain that Twinleaf Town couldn't be too far away, though he was almost a little disappointed that he hadn't yet encountered any of these vicious, face-eating wild Pokemon Professor Rowan had told him about, and he was even walking pointedly through the tall grass, too. Finally, his curiosity got the better of him and he decided then and there that he was going to see what the Pokemon was like. With a single click, the tiny Pokeball became much larger, and though he couldn't remember a time in his life where he'd done this before, these actions felt eerily familiar. He clicked it a second time and the red and white sphere opened, spilling a bright white light onto the ground in front of him.

"Are you serious?!" Sam called back to Miharu. "But you aren't even here to battle!" Sam shook her head, and was about to head back and help Miharu, but the girl stepped in front of her.

"Nuh-uh, no way, you aren't running from me!" Sam crossed her arms,

"If you are that worried, why don't you just come with me? It doesn't really matter where we battle does it?"

"How do I know there isn't a third one of you, waiting for us to be distracted?" Sam raised an eyebrow.

"Are you serious? You are a very suspicious person, you know that?" Sam pushed past her and walked back to Miharu. The girl followed along behind her. She saw the Trainer release a Caterpie, and Sam looked to Miharu, wondering what she would do. Deciding it wasn't really any of her business if Miharu destroyed this kid, she turned back to the girl. "Fine, if you want to battle me, show me your Pokemon." The girl grinned hugely, and Sam wondered what could possibly make her so happy. She retrieved a Pokeball from her belt, and tossed it in the air. Out came a spiky blue Pokemon, one Sam didn't recognize.

"Piiiiine!" it cried, apparently happy it got to battle.

"Okay, what the hell is that?"

"It's a Pineco! It is a Bug-Type, after all. What were you expecting? We aren't all pushovers you know," she said glancing towards the Trainer who had surprised Miharu. Sam only dimly remembered Pinecos from her reading. What she mostly remembered was that it could learn Selfdestruct and Explosion. Sam cautiously reached for Miles' Pokeball, intending to get it done and over with as soon as possible. But she stopped herself.

'Devlin needs the experience,' she thought, sighing. She was a bit hesitant to send out her baby, but he did know Fly, which could save him from a potential explosion. Besides, if the Pineco did explode, it would automatically end the battle. Sam nodded to herself, and quickly grabbed Devlin's Pokeball, before she could change her mind, and released the tiny blue bird. He burst out, crowing happily, still excited over learning Fly.

"Okay Devlin, let's start this off easy! Use Drill Peck!" Devlin flew up, his beak glowing blue, before he divebombed the Pineco, spinning rapidly.

"Ghos, Lick. Try to finish it off," Leon said to his Gastly, who floated down to the poor Seedot and once again licked the side of its face, sending it tumbling over. The tough little Pokémon hopped to his feet, and though he looked quite tired around, held his ground and awaited a command.

"Use Harden, Seedot!" Mia commanded, holding her twin's hands as the Pokémon glowed, his defense rising.

"End it, Muuma," Leon commanded, trusting her to make a smart decision on her own. Telling your Pokémon exactly what to do was great and all, but he figured that they should still learn to make smart decisions for themselves.

Muuma floated over to the Seedot quickly, letting out an eerie cry as she attacked him. Leon recognised it as the same attack that Gina's Lotad had used, and was pleased that Muuma had learned a new offensive attack. The Seedot's eyes opened in fear before he fell over, eyes closing and movement ceasing. Mia quietly recalled her Pokémon and looked at the PokéBall, a small smile appearing on her face.

"You tried your best, Seedot," She said softly to the PokéBall, prompting a look from Gina.

She pulled out her own PokéBall and said,
"You too, Lotad!"

"Let's go get you guys healed up! Thanks for the battle, Leon!" They said in unison before running off towards Rustboro.

Leon recalled both of his Pokémon, pondering whether or not he should go get his Pokémon healed as well. In the end he decided it would be a good idea, since Ghos had been hit with a super effective attack, and fainting in the middle of the next battle would prove pretty pointless for training.

Miles wore a look of pure defiance as Mimi's Nuzleaf was returned to its poke ball, though the Buizel was looking utterly exhausted by this point. Katie decided then that she didn't want to risk him getting seriously hurt and recalled him as well, though he didn't seem to argue it at all. It was just Kord and the Lombre now, and both were looking pretty confident, Kord especially. Katie seemed to share in her Pokemon's confidence, mostly because she believed Kord had the upper hand.

"Let's show them your Nature Power, Lombre!" Kiki called. Katie furrowed her brow, trying to remember the difference between Secret Power and Nature Power. Both moves varied with location and she looked at the ground, which of course was covered with grass. The Lombre had knelt down and put his hands on the ground, which had started to glow beneath him. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, several large seeds were flung up and towards Kord. 'It turned into Seed Bomb because of the tall grass,' Katie thought, looking worriedly towards her Pokemon.

The baby Pokemon took a step back, not liking the looks of those large round things that were flying at him. The lightning bolt on his tummy flashed and he thrust out his hands, sending out a wave of Swift stars that sped through the air and met the oncoming Seed Bombs, causing a rather noisy explosion. Both the Elekid and Lombre were blown back by the force of it, and when the smoke cleared both Pokemon were lying flat on their backs, completely out of it.

He watched with wide eyes as the light before him began to take shape, though it wasn't an overly big shape. It was primarily green in colour, with a shell the colour of healthy soil covering its back. It looked up at him with wide, yellow eyes, its mouth turned upwards in a grin. A small twig was growing from the top of its head, with two, cute little leaves sprouting out from either side of it. The Turtwig looked up at the blonde-haired boy, still grinning. "Twiiig!" it cried, hopping up and down. Rowan had told him he'd be meeting someone new today, and that he'd be going out on a little adventure, and he continued to look up at the boy, wondering if perhaps this boy was his new trainer.

"Well look at you," the boy chuckled, kneeling down so that he was more eye-level with the Pokemon. "You're cute, but can you really fend off the face-chewing wild Pokemon out here?" he asked, reaching out to pat Turtwig on the head. He had to admit that he wasn't really expecting the Pokeball to contain this leafy little guy, but he seemed to be good-natured.

Turtwig pawed the ground sheepishly and looked away. No, he wasn't really sure about anything. He wasn't really much for fighting, he always left that up to Chimchar and Piplup. Chimchar was always getting riled up over the little things and causing trouble, and Piplup wasn't much better. Chimchar had often yelled at him and made fun of him for being so complacent, and even Piplup had told him he needed to be more confident and assertive. Perhaps they were both right, because yesterday both of them had left the lab with new trainers, and this made him very envious of them. Well, he was going to change that, now! He was going to prove that he could be as tough as any Pokemon, and that he would get stronger! The next time he saw Piplup and Chimchar, he would flatten them both, and at the same time! "Twig!" he cried, jumping forward and gently biting down on the boy's hand, and he laughed.

"All right, all right, I bet you're a little tough guy. C'mon, let's keep going. The last thing I want to do is disappoint the professor." Turtwig agreed heartily and the two of them continued onwards to Twinleaf Town.

“Tooootodile!” Vector’s permanent toothy grin grew even wider as he energetically shook his tiny little hand in Amy’s. After all, she was so nice. Someone would have to be a sociopath to not like her. Then he turned his attention back to Flora, staring her in the eye. He went on with a very stern “Toto!”, informing her that he’s been very well, avoiding angry plant whips and flying leaf shuriken, and he’d like it to stay that way.

Cyan put Cindy down, bringing a finger to her chin. And she proceeded to stare at Amy and Scarlet. “… Heh heh heh. Mighty defensive there, aren’t we? Is there something going on that I should know abooout~?” A not-so-subtle smirk played across her lips as her archrival’s Cyndaquil blinked on, utterly confused.

Her trainer was just as confused. “Eh? What would be going on that you wouldn’t know about? Weirdo. Anyway.” Scarlet shot an arm out to Amy’s shoulder and pulled her in close, in a sort of one armed hug. “Thanks! Me and Cindy ARE awesome together! Right, Cindy!”

Scarlet received a “QUIIIIIL!” in the affirmative.

“So, you should have faith in you and Flora too! I believe that you guys should aim for the stars, not the sky! Become the best that you can be and you won’t have any regrets!”
PostPosted: Thu Jul 22, 2010 9:40 pm

"W-wha?" Amy asked, taken aback by Cyan's subtle remark. "N-no, I didn't mean--" Then Scarlet hugged her. It was kind of abrupt, but Amy merely nodded once. "R-right! Flora!"

Flora had been giving Vector a very confused stare, but she merely shook her head and turned to Amy, letting out a cheerful "Chiko?" in response.

"W-we're gonna catch a friend!" Amy declared, nodding furiously. "And we're gonna go to Cerulean and kick butt in our debut contest, all right!?"

Flora blinked, staring at her trainer as she put together the words. First, there was the prospect of a new friend. That, of course, meant fighting, but Flora knew (perhaps better than Amy) that fighting was unavoidable. Then, there was getting all the way to some place. And then kicking butt in a contest? That Flora could do without question. "Chikorita!" she said in her most determined tone, nodding just as fiercely.

Amy smiled for a moment, feeling determined, but it sort of left an awkward little moment there. She put away the prospect of battling a wild Pokemon for now and turned around, facing Cyan's other, much ignored Pokemon. "And who's this cute little guy?"

Mazarin felt like the world around him shattered when the cute girl seemed to force her hand out of his. He stood up straight and cleared his throat, throwing away his notions of using Spanish. Perhaps it wasn't the lovely language that everyone seemed to appreciate, at least...not when he used it. Banette hissed his wispy laugh and walked with his master into the cafeteria, along with the other two new trainers. He had to admit, Maz sure had a knack for getting involved with trainers that he barely knew. "So Train, choochoo, and Carlos..." he tried to think of a nickname to go with his but alas, his brain was failing him at the moment, much like it did the other 90% of the time he tried to use it.

"What brings you two to Mt. Moon?" He grabbed a cup of fresh blueberries and took a seat. "The place is full of big scary Pokemon like..." he tapped his chin thinking, "Paras! Those things...you could get diseases from 'em! They're a living parasite!" Come to think of it, Paras were pretty easy to knock out and there was really no reason to be afraid of them. "And Geodudes! Trip over those and you'll...ooh dear, you'll be sorry!" He popped a ton of blueberries into his mouth and began to chew.

When he swallowed and began to talk again, his teeth were now dyed a dark color of blue and he looked over at Banette. The Ghost-type waved his fingers around in a 'Metronome' fashion to remind him of another Pokemon inside. "Oh yeah! And Clefairy! They may look cute, and they're very rare...but their Metronome can become any attack! We may be blown to smithereens!" He threw his hands into the air, which consequently threw his blueberries up too, and Banette quickly unzipped his mouth and zipped around to eat them all.

"Mt. Moon is a dangerous place, my friends..." he said grimly, shaking his head. "But if it's the only way you two wish to go, I!" he jumped onto the table and stood proudly. Banette turned invisible and got behind him, grabbing onto his scarf to make it wave, "The Great Mazarin Stanky shall accompany you through the cave!" Ugh, my last name sure sucks.

"Eh turn against me? Black*Star won't do that!" Robin defended as she gave her master a stubborn look, on the ground Black*Star gave him a glare as well. It seemed like both of them were on the same track, even if they didn't agree on something they weren't going to turn on each other.

"Woah!" Tony Tony held his hands up in his defense while he looked down at the two. "All I am saying is that some of them do, not saying that Black*Star will do that to you." Still the girl seemed to have a lot of faith in her partners, it would be a nasty shock to her if her pokemon ever did decide to leave. "Well still, those were just basic facts about Totodiles. You still have some other pokemon we need to go over. Look at your Ambipom over there? Ambipom are really well known for their agility, reflexes and how they can land fast powerful attacks. Some of them have the ability Technician." Tony looked over to Robin to see if she knew what that ability was, unfortunately the girl didn't seem to know, she had a pokedex and she hadn't even looked at her own pokemon's abilities? She seemed to know their moves though so that was helpful at least. "All right let me tell you what it is." Tony sighed as he looked at his student, she really didn't have much of a brain. "Technician is the ability that let's normally weak attacks strike a lot harder then they normally do. Let's say if Luffy had Technician and he used his Double Hit attack it would do a lot more damage then if another pokemon used that attack."

A small frown was on Robin's face as she listened to Tony Tony. "Does Luffy have that ability? It sure sounds like it would be helpful." Robin looked over at Luffy who was digging a hole in the ground to fit the colored tape Ampersand was laying in various patterns on the ground. "Hey Luffy!" The small Ambipom perked up and looked up at Robin giving her a big grin. " Can you use your Double Hit for us? I want to see something!"

Use Double Hit? Sure he could use that! On what though? Eh he could use it on the ground or something. Stepping away from the small hole Luffy unleashed his attack on the ground before looking over at Robin who had stopped working with Black*Star for a moment to clap.

"So what do you think?" Robin asked turning back to Tony and Black*Star.

Tony had watched her Ambipom preform its Double Hit and couldn't help but be impressed. She must be a natural at training because it was clear that she had no idea what she was doing, yet she somehow did it right. "Oh yeah, that was a Technician powered attack. Your lucky, a lot of people spend a lot of money trying to get Technician on their Ambipoms."

Train nearly choked on her food when Mazarin announced his last name, especially after she'd already been holding back a small laugh when Carlos had pulled his Pokémon's food out of his sumbrero. After a small fit of coughing she was finally able to speak again. "Thanks, but I've actually already been through Mount Moon a few times," She informed him. "But you're still welcome to join us!" None of the Pokémon he'd mentioned were actually all that terrifying. Sure, if you got them angry they could be pretty dangerous, but wasn't that true of just about any Pokémon?

Train glanced over at Pikachu, who was happily munching on some Pokémon food, and unclipped three PokéBalls from her belt. Growlithe was the biggest Pokémon she had, and overall they wouldn't take up much room, so she figured it would be alright to let them all eat together. She opened two of the PokéBalls, and set up food for Raticate and Growlithe, who happily began eating. She watched Growlithe happily for a moment, hoping that it wouldn't take too long for him to realise that she was really going to be his trainer from now on.

She stared at the last PokéBall she held and sighed, shrinking it and putting it away before deciding to feed Oddish later. The poor Pokémon was still rather timid, and she didn't want to scare her by suddenly throwing her into a big crowd of Pokémon and people.

Train looked up at Maz and said,
"Hey, what's your Pokémon?" She really liked the way it looked, and wouldn't mind learning a little more about it. She blinked and turned to look at Carlos' Pokémon, remembering now that she'd also wanted to ask him about the bird and the cricket, too.
