Living in Japan, there is seriously no point in buying DVDs. They're super expensive, usually have few to no extra features...you might as well just go to Tsutaya or any comparable media-renting store and rent them. Even if you like to re-watch your movies, you'll still pay less renting the same movie 4 or 5 times than you would just buying it. talk2hand Foreign movies are a little bit of a different story since they're always cheaper to buy, but why the heck would you buy Lord of the Rings/Die Hard/any foreign-made movie in Japan unless you needed or wanted the the Japanese subtitles/voice track?

Precisely and elegantly put. 3nodding

I was, however, able to find a good DVD shop in Tokyo that sells box sets of shows for a price close to that of State-side prices. I'll be saving money for the purchase of a few series for when I go home.

It amuses me when I see complaining of DVD prices in the A/M/C. If they only knew how great of a deal they are getting considering the alternative.

That's nice that you could find something like that, but be sure they're not bootlegs before you start hailing their amazing prices. It's not that I think it's impossible to find deals like that, I'm just a little skeptical... sweatdrop Japan is soooo expensive.

Oh, most of them are probably just hopeless. They think Japan is an anime/manga dreamland, therefore assuming it's plentiful and cheap to buy. How very wrong they are... gonk

Well, it's funny that you should mention bootlegs, because the store in question sells both authentic DVDs as well as (what they label to be Hong Kong DVDs) bootlegs. xd

But yeah, in general Japan is very expensive.

I want to sleep now instead of doing my essays. Hanging out with you guys would be nice too...

But I'm going to go shopping instead. rofl

Everyone is doing essays... I forgot I have a couple due at the end of the week. I should be doing them during study hall since I have no computer at home... oh well!
