I've noticed lately that whenever I play my sax for more than ten minutes my right thumb goes numb... xd It's really weird.

Satoshi_Shigure2526 Mt thumb often goes numb too =] You're avi is amazing, but anyways... Does anyone know how to keep reeds from cracking? I have played alto for about five years now, and just recently my reeds have started splitting. Any ideas on how to prevent this? I keep them in a case and everything.

The numb thumb thing is normal, it happens to me all the time.
As for the reed problem, are you whiping excess moisture off the reeds when you put them back in the case? You might need to get a new reed case if you are and still getting that problem. It may also have to do with were you live and where you store your sax/reeds. Some reed cases dont allow the reed to breeth enough and thus causes it to split or warp after use.

My band director said it might have been from fluctuating temperatures. I just know that it is starting to irritate my mom. sweatdrop

Well thanks ^^ And as for the reed problem, its usually the reed cases and boxes, sometimes if the box is tapoed shut they will be easier to crack. So my advise would be to create a reed plate with glass and rubber bands. ps. Reeds also crack often if you tongue too hard. =]

Don't use one reed too much. And if your in marching band, well call me when you figure that out. ><

Don't let a bad instrument get in your way, when your just plain good, you WILL get a god instrument =] Well, it's better then the one I had before... it was bad, REALLY REALLY bad. I couldn't play certain notes because the keys were messed up; and sometimes on this one certain notes don't come out sounding right. But usually I'm the first one who is in-tune on our tuning notes. TAKE THAT YOU TWO STUPID FELLOW BARI FELLOWS!! *talking about her section mates who love to make fun of her*
