"Yes fire can be useful against the Dead...unless of course they are not of a physical form, which is actually much more difficult for a spirit to manifest into. Also necromancy is a powerful tool against them; for it can destroy the body that the Dead chose to inhabit and also banish the spirit back to the astral plane where it will be hard pressed to return to the land of the living." Issildia stated in a flat tone devoid of emotion.

"Though do understand...the forest is not bound by natural laws, what may seem real one moment may not be the next."

"well until we get there this is all just talk... so... just to refresh my memory... why are we heading towards the forest and the lands beyond?"

Sin asked looking ahead as if he could see the forest from where they were.

"I think you told me... but I can't remember..."

"The only one remaining that I know of that could have information on why the larovian army was attacked from within, and what exactly went on at Faltora, is Azrielle...the one I told you about that I knew before Anier's fall. He is now within Trenius Sekia, so that is our road...though if you see no need for going, then you can turn back now." she added in a cynical manner.

"hey I haven't turned back yet I'm not going to now.... why? are you trying to hint at something?"

Sin smiled at her, chuckleing softly.

"so how far away is the forest?"

Khastur overheard the talk of zombies and grinned broadly "Zombies should be the perfect catalyst to test my new abilities, holy power can disenegrate and banish the undead completely. Let's see if we can't bring 1,000 to a lower number.."

"On horseback it should only take a day and a half to make it there counting the night that we will take when we make camp at the river." she responded.

"And no I was not inferring anything...I simply don't see the purpose in someone going to such great lengths without a reason. So I hope you have reason enough Sin."

Issildia merely offered a slight smile at Khastur's comment, glad that at least they managed to find some humor in this.

"Reason? Yeah... I guess I have a reason..."

Sin commented and looked fowards again, his mind occupied with his delmma. His mind went back to when he met the leader of city, his comment to him makeing him once again think about what he was going to do.

As Hanch said his name a sudden shock went through him.
"Wait! How do you know my name?" Streak asked. It was obvious that the one thing that he held in private had been revealed. "I shall not give you the pleasure of hearing me beg for my life, not shall you hear even the smallest scream of pain as you close that door. There is no pain greater than the pains I have felt before. Physical pain is nothing to me!" After he had finished speaking he spat on Hanch's face. He hoped that this speech might save him.

~When the fluid from Streak's spit made contact with Hanch's face, she simply wiped it off and licked her hand. Knowing that this action most likely disgusted him, she slapped him with the back of her hand, and ordered the guard to strap him into the machine. They tossed him in and the two held him down, while the third latched his shackles. The blood that stained the rusted blades could be smelled even as Hanch began to speak to him.~

So rude. I would have given you the chance to beg for your life, but now I will follow the master's orders. Screaming for mercy? No. The very sight of you sickens me you pathetic little man. I don't want you to scream.....No. I want you to die! scream

~With that, Hanch stepped away from the device orderring her guards to shut the doors. once they were completely closed, the guard made one final movement of the lock, extending the blades. It was then taht Streak's facial expression shifted from anger to one of insane agony. Hanch was surprised as the blood from his body leaked out of the bottom of the device. He had held true to his word, and did not scream. it was undetermined as to whether it was his will holding back his voice, or perhaps the pain was so intense, that his voice could not escape. With one final command from Hanch, the Guard picked up a large halberd, and took on an attacking position. The smile on Hanch's face grew even wider as she gave the order. The guard then swung the Halberd horizontally, and slammed it into Streak's head. It had severed the top portion of his head from the eyes up from the rest of his body. Once the guard pulled the halberd out of the brick wall, he let the remnants of his core slide off of the blade and to the floor. It was then that the three guards exited the chamber, leaving Hanch behind laughing insanely at her own work. Little did she know that his execution was the catalyst for an event that would ultimately change the fate of herself, and her master.~

((Yeah. I killed him. If you want to know why, talk to Crow. :Stare smile )

Niobe listened to the two's conversation intently. Her smile had faded now, leaving her face expressionless. She had no idea what they were talking about, having worked by herself for the majority of her life, she never paid attention to politics. Niobe did, however, understand three things : 1) this wench was not the person they had come to meet, 2) she was trying to stop them from seeing that person, and 3) she had just threatened Lord Azrielle. Niobe unlatched her whip from her side and let the ends plummet to the ground. With the handle gripped, the other hand slid down the tails until there was a nice length of the whip between the two and the ends no longer touched the floor. She waited for the woman to make any movement, Niobe was sure she would, and when she did she'd kill her.

~The woman only smirked at Azrielle as she extened her hand to her left. A large scythe had materialized out of the same wasps that had been floating about in the air around them. She readied herself for battle, as Azrielle took on an unusual stance. He had never used this fighting stance until now, but he had no time to think about where it had come from. With a gust of wind, Azrielle sprung into action, ruching towards the woman and swinging his blade at her waist. She in turn leapt over him, her speed slightly greater than his own, and kicked him in the back.

She then turned her attention toward, Niobe, and swung her scythe at her torso, the large blade threatening to tear through her slender figure as the roar of a beast could be heard in the area...not from outside...but from within.~

((Don't worry, Streak will be back, but not as one of the living, nor on free-will, but under the will of the Morier, but that won't be for quite a while. For now, I shall make another character. I just have to ask Crow one thing. I've PM her a request for making a new race.))

After no more than a couple of hours of travel Sin, Khastur and Issildia came upon the main branch of the Qeu'Dari River where they were to make camp for the night.

Issildia remained silent for some time as they made camp, careful to clear away the light layer of snow from the ground where she prepared to construct a proper fire. It was obvious that she was at home in these wintry regions of the kingdom as it took her little to no time to gather the kindling and wood to start the fire from the desolate landscape. Even after the fire was crackling at their feet she stood a few yards outside of the camp, the cold seeming to have little effect on her demeanor as she stood in silence gazing out into the dark, while the others settled in for the night.

((bleh its all rather pointless...))
~Days before~

Kishoku sighed as wandered through the forest. He was still particularly irritated with the man named Sin who had followed them. His concseince felt guilty considering he was no more a stranger than him. He knew nothing of any of them and it was only circumstancial that he came to be with them. He shrugged and continued to walk slowly as he absent-mindly picked at the new would he had received back in Meradea.

He was just short of a mile, away from the others and the cabin. He stopped, gazing skyward through the treetops at the darkeneing red sky. It was a cloudless night, yet the sky seemed empty of the thousands of stars that usually blanketed its mass. I should return soon his voiceless words crossed his mind.

why go back to them?

They might be worried.

Worried.. about a stranger?

But they're my...

..Friends? Why would they be your friends? They don't even know you or anything about you, or even if they can trust you. Heck! you dont know anything about you.

He sighed, having lost the ridiculous arguement with himself. It was true. He knew nothing of himself truly, but merely everything that occured since his soul entered this body. The memories of him occupying the vessel even before birth ran through his mind. The body had not truly been his. His own, what seemed dark soul, strangled the infant soul that briefly occupied the body. He shook his head at himself, to stoop so lowly but, it was the past and it could not be unwritten. It had become his vbody, his vessel. His flesh.

During these thoughts he had taken no notice of the small runed twin that hung at his neck as the runes began to move and shift around the small objects circumfrance and spiral up and off it only to reappear again in a cycle starting at its base. The runes began to glow dlimily at first yet, as their spiral's pace quicken along its shape the light became greater as Kishoku's attention continued to be elsewhere in the past.

He let out a yell in pain, as flashes of images wisped through his head. Images he wasnt able to recognize of anything he had seen in this life. He yelled again as the pain carried with them caught up. Causing him to drop to his knees as the madden images continued to plague his mind. "Stop!" His yell echoed through the forest. The images and memories were driving him mad his mind and nerves becoming numb yet the pain continued to seem unbearable. His voice became hoarse as his horrible yells continued mistaking the searing pain for another. The small necklace's light began to sear his small amount of skin it touched, darkenning and reddening it unknown heat. The small twig seem to appear as if it were embedding itself into his chest . The runes stopped suddenly, their white glow becoming a deep red as the same red glow began to emit from them, as runes and symbols began to engulf his body. Each string of symbols and markings originating from the small twig at his chest, each searing themselves to his skin. Sweat ran down his face and back, his form still kneeled low with pain as the unbearable pain increased spreading across his body. Kishoku's ears became deaf to his own screams as they continued relentlessly, echoing through the forest. After several moments the the small twigs glow dimmed, the new symbols and runes across his body continued to remain their searing red color. After what felt like hours and hours of maddening pain, the blurred images and the pain they casued slowly became subdued. His body was stiff and sore, his exhaustion reaching his mind as its numbing weared off. Unbalanced, he collasped to the ground on his side. Kishoku lay unconcseince in the soft dirt, disturbing nothing, as if his existance meant nothing.

~Days later/now~

Kishoku's eyes opened softly as they pivoted in teir sockets to survey his surrounding. Slowly he rose to his knees then to his feet. Though his body was no longer sore it was quite stiff because he had been in the same position for days. He began stretching to loosen his sore joints as he sighed heavily his mind still fogged as if nothing had happened. He stopped suddenly, in mid-stretch, his eyes becoming wide as they took notice of the flesh ofhis body. It was now covered in runes of an unkown, or dead language. The symbols were primitive and strung out across his body connected to each other. Two larger symbols were swirled with smaller runes and strings of markings upon each of his shoulder, a third identical one also resting in the center of his chest under the small twig that hung by thin thread around his throat. Kishoku gazed down at his hands and forearms, instpecting the curious new dull colored markings. His eyes narrowed slightly as he nodded softly in if in understanding an unheard non existant voice.

"Kegawa" His voice trembled slightly as he whispered his name as if Kishoku had never existed."...Of the flesh."

Sin sighed as he watched the fire and then looked over at Issildia. Standing up he walked over and leaned agenst a nearby tree, still behind her slightly.

"So... I assume that there is something your not telling us? Becouse you seem even more detached then whats considered normal for you...."

His breath came out in puffs of steam and he started to rub his arms together to create heat. He didn't mind this weather, being a monkoto meant that he lived in even colder climates, but he still preffered to be warm to cold.
