It's not that I don't find his points valid; it's rather that he concludes that we're nothing but a bunch of retarded masturbators and that we must sit down and take it.
I mean, with star trek, you know it's simply what is shown is canon. The rest is ambiguous, and you can choose to like or dislike whatever else is there. It's simple, its easy, and it distiguishes the creator's work from it's offshoots.
In star wars though, the numbnuts doesn't understand that lucas endorses the offshoots as his own, then dumps them on a whim, which is what gets people po-ed.
That's all. On a side note, I kinda wished i had seen that modified Z machine before. Might have made an interesting fanon ship for the squadron.

Aww Nelo, if I had known that you hadn’t seen that Z I would have suggested it. my friend used to work at a copy place and he down loaded a bunch of material form some D-6 site and printed them out in a book format. That ship is in the book, but I think it’s intro would be a little early in the time line.

The dated material I have lists it as a Z-95 Headhunter MK-I and the one we’re all familiar with it lists as the Z-95 Headhunter MK-II

Show me a canon pic of the Mark 1 that matches up with that model. Otherwise the only difference between the canon Mk 1 and the Mk II is that the Mk I had triple blasters. I've perused many a source in my days and nothing lucasfilm aproved of says that guy's Mk 1 is a canon design.

Never said if it was canon or not, just said that my friend down loaded it from some D-6 site and printed it out. But ok, next time I have it and a scanner I’ll post it up for you.

Rodyn That ship isn't canon, anyway. The only Federation fighter is the Peregrine-Class. Who cares if it's canon? It's beautiful...
The Peregrine is okay-looking. A little too bulky for my tastes.

Nol Noyan Speaking of fighters, here's a modeler's conception of the Z-95 model similar to what Han once flew in the Corporate Sector: Swing Wings, Triple Blasters, its a darn sight prettier than the typical Z-95. http://www.alfredsmind.ca/z95m1pg.htm That there is a perty ship as well. Too bad it's the wrong era for CotS or I might grab me a few of em'...

stellarmagic They are used, but they're not nearly as effective in Trek as in Star Wars. Plus most Federation starfighters have a rather sizable crew when compared to their combat role. The Maquis use Federation Starfighters almost exclusively. Their biggest use was during Operation Return when several hundred starfighters were used in hit and run attacks during the opening of the battle. (600 Feddies cap ships vs 1200 Dominion and Cardi cap ships) But yeah, starfighters are pretty rare simply because of the speed, maneuverability, and accuracy of fire that the larger ships can manage. Or at least, that's the in-universe reasoning behind it. The IRL reason is that doing capital ship showdowns is a hell of a lot less expensive than having lots of tiny fighters zooming all over the screen. When you're making a weekly television show, driving down costs is a huge priority...
Plus, dogfights would blur the line between Star Wars and Star Trek, and I don't think the people behind Trek want to make it look like they're playing copycat. Even though starfighters are so darn cool...

I'd like a deep purple with some light blue highlights on the Gryphon, but I got black and red for the Razgriz squadron in CotS cause it matches their colors in Ace Combat 5.
