I adore vampires. I am reading the House of Night series, so far I have read Marked. They are pretty good.
I have some really good shapeshifter books, that I just adore by Amelia Atwater Rhodes. They were so amazing.
Right now though I am reading the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Omgosh, they are such great books. I am on the fourth in the series already. I am really into these books. You guys should really check them out, I really recommend them.

I read the first book in the Wheel of Time, but I never got around to the rest of the series even though i enjoyed it. If i ever have a week where I'm not doing much of anything then I'll probably sit down and try to read the entire series in one go, though, the first book took me three days, so it'll probably take me over two weeks to read all nine. sweatdrop

Names: Marked, Betrayed, and Chosen.
About: From School Library Journal In 16-year-old Zoey Redbird's world, vampyres not only exist but are also tolerated by humans. Those whom the creatures "mark" as special enter the House of Night school where they will either become vampyres themselves, or, if their body rejects the change, die. To Zoey, being marked is truly a blessing, though she's scared at first. She has never fit into the human world and has always felt she is destined for something else. Her grandmother, a descendant of the Cherokee, has always supported her emotionally, and it is she who takes the girl to her new school. But even there the teen stands apart from the others. Her mark from the Goddess Nyx is a special one, showing that her powers are very strong for one so young. At the House of Night, Zoey finds true friendship, loyalty, and romance as well as mistrust and deception. She realizes that all is not right in the vampyre world and that the problems she thought she left behind exist there as well. Readers will identify with many of the characters, especially the protagonist. The story moves quickly (a little too quickly at the end) and purposely leaves many unresolved issues.

Hee hee true... but I am rather fond of Jag, mostly because I have a thing for cats. I've always wished I could have a pet cat that was an actual wild cat, and Jaguar would be a yummy vamp and a pet Jaguar all in one, which is cool!
My order as far as favorites is actually the series in reverse order: Midnight Predator, Shattered Mirror, Demon in my View, In the Forests of the Night. Shattered Mirror is second because OMG Christopher (or Kristopher, as the case may be) was wicked cool and also an artist, which is way awesome. Demon is third because it's an awesome book and Aubry is oh so cool, and Forest is last because... Well, I dunno, I just didn't like it as much. Maybe because I'm a sucker for romance and there was none. Though the tiger was really cool.
I don't count Hawksong in that list because it's a different series. I haven't read all of them yet, though, I think there's one more in it. I've read Hawksong, Snakecharm, Falcondance, and Wolfcry. Snakecharm was actually my favorite, followed by Hawksong. I didn't really like the others, which may be why I didn't bother to wait for the last one.
And Zane is probably the most amazing fictional guy ever to turn into a snake, if I do say so myself.

Whoo. The House of Night. I stole the first book from Turayza last summer and read it during our essay class... It was interesting. Moved really fast but had an interesting plot. Funny girl.
There as been a surge of "Zoey" in the past few years.

Gah. I went to the bookstore a week or so ago for a book with my dad... we searched around and he was continuously asking me what that book was about, what this book was about ('cause we were in the music section at first and they were advertising Twilight and he was like "just buy another CD, looking for a book would take to long" and I was like "why don't I just take Twilight, everyone seem to like it" and then he was like"Vampire, no way.") And half the books I ended up explaining to him (he just won't read the cover flap!) were about vampires.
>.< And I ended up getting really annoyed at seeming vampire book after bloody vampire book that I ended up asking one of those people to direct me to a good book that didn't involve vampires.
Has anyone read that book... Alchemist , or something... about Nicolas Flamel... or so on?
