IT COSTS 11 DOLLARS here! gonk
well think they make it up in the pop corn stand. no joke, my younger brother was in a rush, ordered a large drink and pop corn. he claims the guy murmered something, So Tom says sure, and he come back with this gallon size coke and this huge bucket of pop corn. my expression eek his gonk . even more so since it was about 20 bucks.

We couldn't finish the corn, because it had to be for 4 people at lest, and we got half way through the coke, only to realize it filled itself back up with water from the ice.

from now on, we do it the old way. We stuff our pocket with food before coming. mrgreen

I don't remember the how.

I don't remember the when.

But I've snuck a full Costco Pizza into a movie theater before.

Back in the day, hubby and I would go to the dollar store or Wal-Mart and buy those "boxes of candy" that look exactly like the stuff they sell at the Wherenburg theaters around our area. He'd say "ok hun, we're taking the big purse this time" and then stuff it all in there and go. We haven't done that very often. Lately, we haven't been getting anything at the theatre or we *just* get drinks. It's really crazy how much everything is marked up. Even the vending machines with the bottled water and stuff in them is crazy.

Not that we go to the movies much though. There are very few movies we'd both be interested in. In the last 1-2 years we've seen transformers which I HATED, Hellboy 2, some god awful star wars cartoon, ironman and some other crap I'm forgetting.

::edit::

Also we saw that Indiana Jones movie but yeah, it's pretty forgettable.

Ugh. Now I'm having flashbacks from when we saw that god awful Star Wars cartoon and then when we saw Transformers.

Transformers:Agh.. all these stupid machines look alike when they're fighting. It's like "metal metal flying here and there ahhhh". Hey, it's ending now... *starts to get up* oh.. no wait... okay it's ending... NOW.. oh wait.. still going. gonk

Star Wars Cartoon:
"the point of this"movie" is to save Jabba's son? Are we serious here? My brain is melting. This movie is made for like.. 6 year olds and the theater is full of middle aged men and their significant others. argh!"

Yeah he owns the Clone Wars DVD's season 1 and season 2. Those were the little 15 minute episodes which are fine but this movie was a giant stinker.

I never used to go to the movies. Then I got employed there. As long as I'm getting in for free, I'm more than happy to go whenever I can. Though the concession prices are most certainly RIDICULOUS. $5 for a bag of Sour Patch Kids that you can grab at the gas station down the street for $1.50.

Because of the aforementioned "free movies" thing, I've seen Watchmen a couple times now. It had some definite pros and some definite cons. The kind of missed the point of the GN. They left characters like the Comedian intact, for the most part, but through ommission, they kind of took away from the "brilliant character study" aspect of the book, with specific regards to Rorschach and Dr. Manhattan. Veidt barely even resembled the character from the GN, and was poorly acted.
From a superficial standpoint, though, I don't think I could see it done much better. It looked like it was pulled straight off the pages of the comics. Snyder's pretty amateur in most areas, but he's a great visually director. Kind of like Michael Bay, except I don't hate him as much.

In other comic-book-movie news, I'm hearing the Kenneth Branaugh is eyeing Josh Hartnett for the part of Loki in his Thor adaptation. Apparently, he liked him in 'O,' a modernized version of Othello, where he played an Iago analog, and that's how Branaugh sees Loki. And then there are the more widespread rumors of Alexander SkarsgÄrd for the title role. Haven't seen him in anything, but he looks the part.

I know I heard on Howard Stern the other day that the Avengers movie with Thor was pushed back a year. I don't think that's what you're talking about though. They also said the next Spiderman was pushed back.

The Avengers movie is being preempted by individual movies for all the heroes. So same Thor, different movie. Thor got pushed back too, though. And Captain America.

A few things:

Nick: I'm reading Survivor and picked up Rant in the same trip. 8D

Jaeger: I finally saw Redbelt. Made of complete ******** and I'm assuming it's got your approval since half of it is your life story and you probably owe someone a lawsuit. Where to next?

Random assortment I heard a rumour that since the director of Twilight has passed on the sequel several high profile names have thrown their hats into the ring including Drew Barrymore and Guillermo Del Toro

Also I am already excited about 2009 in a big way.

Newest reccomendations from the video store guy: Milk, Blindness, I Want Candy, Redbelt, Children of Men

Technologist Tony Stark
